QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) Is it really that odd for Colon to groove an 82 mph fastball at this point? He's got great control - only 32 walks this inning in almost 200 IP. Average fastball this season for his has been 88 MPH. I hope he did intentionally groove it in there. Mad respect if so but again, this is all wild speculation on my part.

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) I know some were (are) advocating the Sox go out and sign catcher Wilson Ramos this off season as a free agent. Just FYI, Dusty Baker has just announced he has a torn ACL in his knee and (naturally) is done ofr the rest of the season. ACL's are usually anywhere from six months to a full year recovery depending on the extent of the injury and the athlete themselves. Mark Yea - I saw this too. Lame. I really have ZERO faith that the Sox will rebuild, as they should... And his name not out there really just is another sign of what really should be done.

Shields gave up 1 run, 2 walks, and no homers over 6 innings? What the hell is happening here???

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) I cried during the Dee Gordon moment, not gonna lie. That was unreal. Gotta say it... And it takes nothing away from that momentous at-bat.... I think Colon grooved that whole sequence with an intention of giving a lead off home run. An 85 mph meat ball center cut and in on 2-0 just screams, "Mash me far". If so... Nice move by Colon. Such a class act by the Marlins playing with everyone wearing Fernandez jerseys.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) stripped of the opportunity to father the child his wife/girlfriend is pregnant with That's the greatest tragedy of his passing... The best blessing that could come of this is for his baby girl to forever have an outpouring of love, care, and family who all remind her every day what a wonderful father she had who will always be alive in them and in her heart. Edit: that's a tall freaking order.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) I couldn't blame the Marlins if they tried to just forfeit the rest of the season. Such a travesty - if I was on the team I would lobby for this course of action. Pack it in and dedicate the silence to him.

Can it please be Steve Buscemi, John Travolta, or Garth Brooks?

The over / under on ER for Shields this outing is set at: 25. What's a you guys take? Tough choice.... -
Watched Soaked in Bleech finally. Know I'm late to the party - didn't watch it earlier as I thought it was going to be more focused on Kurt's life. It however brought about a lot of stuff about his death that was all new to me. Worth watching.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 02:15 PM) Good lord that's awful. I'm sorry but Robin has outstayed his welcome. He and his staff need to be s***canned the last day of season. Nah... Let's just keep doing this for another 10 years. We're onto something!

TOOL will actually never put out a new album and has actually just been f***ing with us all for 10 years... True or False?

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 19, 2016 -> 07:00 AM) Why does this thread exist when the TV water cooler thread exists? All the convo belongs in one spot. 1.) I didn't see the other TV thread ( durrrrr ) 2.) It seems this thread has focused on Netflix - which I personally appreciate as I don't have traditional cable - only Netflix and other streaming services. ??

QUOTE (Lillian @ Sep 18, 2016 -> 11:23 AM) Yes, where it is allowed, that's always a great solution. We have a generator, so it would work, however I've read that it's not permitted at the nearby Walmart. Thanks Doh! I camped there about 10 years ago without issue but I'm sure there's better places. Was just being a halfway jackass

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 02:56 PM) Maybe he's healthy again? Those numbers sound like James Shields from 2-3 years ago. He's osculated between dog poop and respectability for us this year. I suspect more dog poop will be coming soon for good ol' Jamie boy. -

Wow, Shields giving up 3 hits and 3 walks... No homers at the Cell with 8 strike outs in 6 innings. Against Cleveland too. -

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 12:21 PM) ...Just another example of the vagaries of umpiring and why I take pitch framing stats lightly. +1 -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 7, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Yeah, S1 was a real kick in the nuts. Compelling, but in the end, they led us down 5 or 6 different paths that led to nothing and never mattered. I think I watched S2 just to find out what happened, but then I stopped and have no interest in ever going back. Holy cow were you right! What a nightmare S2 was. One of the worst I've ever seen. Your description was dead on!

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) This is going to sounds really strange to you older people or those married or in a relationship. But until I started to see the girl I am with now, I had a lot of trouble watching TV shows because I was pretty much constantly talking to multiple girls at once through multiple dating apps/snapchat/text. And when I wasn't talking to one, I was on those apps looking for another to talk to. It was kind of an addiction and it would take me 2 hours+ to watch a regular show because I was constantly pausing or rewinding. Now that I am dating one of them, I deleted all those apps and am on my phone way less. lol. It sounds really dumb, but I had to reply to them as soon as I got a message. Not strange at all. Sounds like a watered down version of when I've been off on my escapades. Even thou I'm not dating and am single again - all that seeking crap is by the wayside. When I'm ready for another 'her' -- she'll show up. Cheers and congrats. Water that plant.

Well that sucks to read - it seemed to have a lot of promise even with some plot holes and poorly acted scenes. Guess it gets worse and not better. Bastards. If only every show was Breaking-Bad-Like.

The Killing Netflix original started in 2011. Just watched season 1 and it's very very compelling stuff. At some various brief points there's some poorly said lines but it's not too noticeable. Everytime I think the plot is clear, there's another twist. Good stuff... Highly recommend.
