  1. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 02:10 PM) Sigh, I wanted to believe so much. I don't understand how Kenny isn't canned. They've seen the results of the two of these guys butting heads for at least 2 years now. What. The. f***.
  2. Report just out that the Commissioner offered Boston the option to undo their trade with San Diego in August. Wonder why the same opportunity wasn't afforded to the White Sox regarding Shields.
  3. :( :( :( :(
  4. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 12:07 PM) With a herniated disk in his back Saladino might be through as a player, you just don't know how those will respond even with surgery. Mark Depends on the severity and location, of course. Has it been announced that he's having surgery?
  5. My offseason plan: who cares. There's no hope for next year unless a miracle happens. Many miracles, actually.
  6. QUOTE (Scoots @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) From a CSN Chicago article: http://www.csnchicago.com/chicago-white-so...il-after-season Todd Frazier: "I love Robin, love him to death. He's a good manager, for sure." James Shields: "He's one of the better managers I've been around, and I've been around some really good ones...Robin is a good man, a good manager. He's really good with the players, and if he does step down, he's going to be sadly missed for sure." This coming from 2 players who have been in the league for a long time. Robin isn't horrible like most people think he is. Sure, he has made some poor decisions. Who doesn't? No manager is perfect, plus what do you expect from a guy who has never managed in the past? I think one of the most important qualities of a manager (after his ability to actually manage games) is his likeability among players. A manager who isn't likeable creates tension and ruins chemisty in the clubhouse. Robin is the exact opposite of that. He brings players together and keeps a good atmosphere. He isn't as bad as people think. Everyone who knows the man respects him. I haven't heard one gripe about him, ever, EXCEPT from the one group of people who have never had even one conversation with the man...the fanbase. He's far too passive for management. Look at the absurd stuff that has happened out of that club house - no competent manager would have allowed for such sideshows. That's just one gripe. It's beyond time for him to go and it's also beyond time that KW goes with him.
  7. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 11:44 PM) Well he traded Gio Gonzalez twice.. And who knows how many of the Hanh area trades are really KW
  8. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) BINGO. Swanson - 0.7 WAR in 36 games. @ 505k Inciarte - 3.6 WAR in 129 games @ 523k Blair - (-)0.8 WAR in 14 starts @ 507k For Miller - 0.6 WAR in 20 starts @ 4.35 mm Completed.
  9. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 09:16 PM) ... it isn't going to damage this organization like a trade-that-gets-someone-fired typically would. Shelby Miller, come on down... You're the next contestant on "The Deal is f***ing Wrong!"

  12. I'm so freaking ready for this post / offseason. Monday please come here fast and take away the mess known as 2016 White Sox baseball.
  13. Did I somehow stumble into an alternate universe where humor tabloid papers are actually national news publications? This will be absurd if true.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2016 -> 07:23 AM) Is it really that odd for Colon to groove an 82 mph fastball at this point? He's got great control - only 32 walks this inning in almost 200 IP. Average fastball this season for his has been 88 MPH. I hope he did intentionally groove it in there. Mad respect if so but again, this is all wild speculation on my part.
  15. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Sep 27, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) I know some were (are) advocating the Sox go out and sign catcher Wilson Ramos this off season as a free agent. Just FYI, Dusty Baker has just announced he has a torn ACL in his knee and (naturally) is done ofr the rest of the season. ACL's are usually anywhere from six months to a full year recovery depending on the extent of the injury and the athlete themselves. Mark Yea - I saw this too. Lame. I really have ZERO faith that the Sox will rebuild, as they should... And his name not out there really just is another sign of what really should be done.
  16. Shields gave up 1 run, 2 walks, and no homers over 6 innings? What the hell is happening here???
  17. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) I cried during the Dee Gordon moment, not gonna lie. That was unreal. Gotta say it... And it takes nothing away from that momentous at-bat.... I think Colon grooved that whole sequence with an intention of giving a lead off home run. An 85 mph meat ball center cut and in on 2-0 just screams, "Mash me far". If so... Nice move by Colon. Such a class act by the Marlins playing with everyone wearing Fernandez jerseys.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) stripped of the opportunity to father the child his wife/girlfriend is pregnant with That's the greatest tragedy of his passing... The best blessing that could come of this is for his baby girl to forever have an outpouring of love, care, and family who all remind her every day what a wonderful father she had who will always be alive in them and in her heart. Edit: that's a tall freaking order.
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 25, 2016 -> 10:29 AM) I couldn't blame the Marlins if they tried to just forfeit the rest of the season. Such a travesty - if I was on the team I would lobby for this course of action. Pack it in and dedicate the silence to him.
  20. Can it please be Steve Buscemi, John Travolta, or Garth Brooks?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 08:35 AM) Netflix has a goal of making 50 percent of their programming original That would require an INSANE amount of content. I N S A N E
  22. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 09:29 PM) Maybe Shields was KW's idea. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.
  23. The over / under on ER for Shields this outing is set at: 25. What's a you guys take? Tough choice....

Watched Soaked in Bleech finally. Know I'm late to the party - didn't watch it earlier as I thought it was going to be more focused on Kurt's life. It however brought about a lot of stuff about his death that was all new to me. Worth watching.
