  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) As someone who owns Fulmer on most of my fantasy teams (I know no one cares), I find it hard to see ROY go to anyone else. This guy has been nails. Thread hijack, it pisses me off seeing how well the Tigers did at the last deadline when they actually sold off on their assets. Something KW will never do. Tigers traded Cespedes, Price and Soria. They got Fulmer, Norris, Boyd, Jairo Labourt, Luis Cessa and Jacoby Jones. That's 3/5 of their rotation, a top ten prospect, a top twenty prospect and a prospect who has traded for Justin Wilson. That's for three expiring contracts (albeit three good ones). Jebus
  2. Fraizer sure was an offensive black hole tonight. 0 - 4 with 6 LOB!!
  3. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Sox have now blown and lost 11 games where they had a lead in the 7th inning or later. Jones now has nine blown saves, three losses and has had a direct hand in six of those 11 blown games. He needs to be moved out of the late inning role next year perhaps to the 6th or 7th inning if the Sox revamp their bullpen. Meanwhile its just another divisional loss, one of many this year and many more to come in the final month. Mark Always love your stats man. Good on ya.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 01:55 PM) Christopher Kamka ‏@ckamka 8m8 minutes ago Tim Anderson last 20 games: .338/.373/.545, 16 Runs, 6 Doubles, 2 Triples, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 3 SB #WhiteSox I had hopes for Anderson but never expected him to do as well as he has. His minor league career showed he had a knack for making adjustments and boy has that trend continued here in The Show. Can't think of the last time someone came up so your my for us and has thrived with making adjustments so well. Beckham did great his first year or so but never could turn things around. Who's the last position player you can recall who has done well like this?
  5. This is good to see. You know it's bad when I of all people am trying to calm things down. Usually there's a mob coming after me with pitch forks for saying poop and blah too often... But it has indeed been on an entirely different level of awful lately. The ignore feature really works and I'll be quicker to use it in the future... However, surely this will get things back on track and ward off some of the more agregious offenders. Good on ya, chisoxfn.
  6. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 04:05 PM) miracles happen I guess... But Shields and whoever else against the Detroit offense first two games... Like I said miracles... Shields sure is fun to watch - should be real fun against Detroit
  7. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/08/26/lev...l-for-29-clubs/ More commentary on that article: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/08/sox-...na-bradley.html
  8. QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) Beyond that, what is the big deal about just making the playoffs? Do they hand out a trophy for that? LOL The thought process is: anything can happen. Say the Sox squeezed into the playoffs this year. Even though it won't happen... Just imagine it. Then you've got Sale / Q / Rodon / Gonzo throwing against teams. Anything can happen. You know this - we all know this. Blah, blah, blah, blah.
  9. QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 28, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Has anyone heard anything about Hawk's future plans on broadcasting? I believe I read last week that he "plans on broadcasting until he no longer can"
  10. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 07:31 PM) Maybe Seattle will take him .Outside of Diaz the Sox did a number on the M's pen. Good thought.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Yasiel Puig or Jeff Francoeur? Awesome read, thanks.
  12. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) You just hope none of those "assets" get hurt during the first part of next season before they have a chance to trade them...or their value goes up in smoke. Mark True that.
  13. Pretty amazing how black and white this team has been in 2016.
  14. Still a bummer that Tilson couldn't be getting at bats.
  15. QUOTE (captain54 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 01:46 PM) Comments from KW earlier in the week indicated that the problems in 2016 were 'spearheaded" by bullpen injuries…. I take that to mean they are of the opinion that the catalyst for the horrific tumble after the 23-10 was the two guys in the pen that went down… That certainly addresses the issue of how the Sox got to lead the league in Blown Saves, and possibly how a closer ends up being one of the league leader in blown saves, but those stretches of non-existent offense, account equally for why the team is in the state it's in….IMHO My guess is they're going for it in 2017. Guess I can't really blame them for that, since they could likely trade their assets for equal returns at the 2017 deadline / 2017-2018 offseason. It's just awful we're in August wishing it was December or April already. Horrid time to be a sox fan.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) Navarro sucked(sucks) and is no longer on the roster. That's a plus by itself. The return, that we shouldn't have even expected, throws with his left hand and has some decent numbers. No one's claiming he's Sandy Koufax but he's more interesting than a 28 year old org player. I'll call it a win for the Sox. IMO, It's also a good thing that we get to see more of Narvaez. Hopefully we sign Ramos in the offseason with Narvaez serving as backup. Or if they go the rebuild route, they pair him with a young trade acquisition.
  17. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 27, 2016 -> 05:42 AM) Hi8is and I accept your apology. Thank you This thread should be retitled to: Unnecessary Stupidity.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) The Blue Jays are going to give up someone who has been crazy good for Navarro? Call me skeptical. I'm sure we could unearth equally glowing Nestor Molina, Zach Stewart and Chris Marquez praise. I don't think anyone is expecting him to be much of anything. Everyone's pretty much shocked we got anything more that mere cash for him.
  19. QUOTE (OilCan @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 08:08 PM) JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 2h2 hours ago My quick summation of Alec Hansen's night. He has come a LONG way in the last few months. Lot of work to go but significant strides. JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 2h2 hours ago Dominating in the Pioneer League is not a massive feat for a college drafted but the arm is quick and he has feel for a slider. JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 3h3 hours ago Much like he did at times in college Hansen has more feel for his breaking ball than his fastball. Back to back strikeouts. JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 4h4 hours ago Alec Hansen on the mound for the @Intimidators tonight. Follow @jnorris427, @mlananna and @KyleAGlaser for updates. Michael Lananna ‏@mlananna 3h3 hours ago Some tilt on this 83 mph slider from Alec Hansen. Kyle GlaserVerified account ‏@KyleAGlaser 4h4 hours ago Alec Hansen 91-94 FB, 84 SL, 77 CB, 84 CH in first inning. Staying on line to plate, when missing it's mostly high-low, not in-out #WhiteSox Michael Lananna ‏@mlananna 4h4 hours ago 94 mph heat from White Sox 2nd rounder and Oklahoma alum Alec Hansen. 1 K in the first. Kyle GlaserVerified account ‏@KyleAGlaser 3h3 hours ago Alec Hansen is thru 5, 5 hits and 3 runs allowed, 2 BB, 6 K. Slider has been his best pitch, main prob has been locating vs. lefties Kyle GlaserVerified account ‏@KyleAGlaser 3h3 hours ago Alec Hansen's stuff has dropped here around the 70 pitch mark in the 4th. FB 90-92 now, CB losing bite, control shakier #WhiteSox JJ Cooper ‏@jjcoop36 5h5 hours ago The BA staff is out in force for Alec Hansen and @Intimidators tonight. Kyle GlaserVerified account ‏@KyleAGlaser 2h2 hours ago Final thoughts on Alec Hansen: FB good at 93, loses command at 95, SL excellent at times, 82-86, needs consistent third pitch #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&ver...en&src=typd Thanks for all this. Nice to see some in depth reporting on his progress! Not bad for his first start in A.
  20. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) That's pathetic. Nice life choices, champ I thought you were.... 1.) leaving this site 2.) going to bed, with your wife Changed your mind? Awesome.
  21. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) I am done with this as I am with this site for a while. Reminds me why I left. Please don't go, we desperately need you. The redemption of meatballs is on the line.
  22. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 08:45 PM) Where is this 94-95 you speak of anyways? I'm laughing because I have a World Series ring to my credit as a scout But you have more posts. So you're the smart one -http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/197828950/white-sox-acquire-left-hander-colton-turner/ Again, have a good night.
