QUOTE (South Sider @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) I'll snag Dave Dombrowski of the Red Sox, kind sir. Good idea, this should be fun... I would recommend holding off on trade talks until all major GMs are taken: Copelella, Avila, Silverman, Cashman, Rizzo, Zaidi\ Edit: and maybe making trade talks private? IDK how serious you want to be about this. Dave... come on bro. Are you kidding me? I'm transparent as f***. You're just trying to get me all alone to yourself to manipulate me. Nice try. Poop, -Rick Hahn

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) She's fantastic thanks for asking! How's Daddy Kenny doing? "Intranet" is all secure now. Damn interns spying from other teams coming into to work for us (sneaky Cardinals). Let's get down to business. We want to put the Houston Astros over the top in the American League. We have some interest in your jersey chopping ace. What's it going to seal the deal? I can't get that asshat off my back. He wants me to sign Cespedes, A-Rod, and try baiting Randy Johnson out of retirement. Congrats on signing Reddick and trading for McCann. That other starter you signed is awful, what were you smoking yesterday man? Kenny won't let me talk Sale until I've exhausted his above agenda. I've got clearance to hear out offers thou. Disclaimer, it better be an improvement from that garbage you offered last July. Tony Kemp and your stadium naming rights... seriously? Fist Bump, -Rick Hahn

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:17 PM) If Puig becomes a mid 20s 6 WAR CF again you'll get a better return than Calhoun and Lux. Truth. Thanks for the correction.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:10 PM) Agreed but Puig is intriguing nonetheless because if we can rehab him and get him to be the superstar he can be, then that's a jackpot for the Sox. We could also move him if we don't like his antics and he rebounds his value. Even if his potential is realized I doubt you could find a better return than Calhoun and Lux.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 10:07 PM) I'll take Jeff Luhnow of the Astros Game On Hey Jeff! You get that hacking s*** cleared up man? We really should talk shop but I don't want any of our discussions going into that horribly unprotected intranet system of yours. How's the wife? Tiddlywinks, -Rick Hahn

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 09:57 PM) If Dodgers (w/o Puig): Urias, Bellinger, DeLeon, Alvarez, Calhoun, Lux This is the better dodger package.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 09:49 PM) This is fun I like this role playing It gave me an idea actually.

So... I've got this guy named Chris Sale. Anyone heard of him? He too can be yours if the Price is Right. Let the games begin, -Rick Hahn

Here's the idea folks. You claim one of the below GM personas and we then continue on fictional negotiations. The role playing continues until the discussed trade asset is liquidated in reality. "Trade Talks" begin immediately once you have selected your GM role. You conclude your communication by signing off with your chosen GM name. The only rule is, no personal attacks between GM's. You can attack the idea itself. Claim your GM by posting a welcome message in that name or by engaging in a trade negotiation under that name. The list below will be updated as other posters begin to participate. Edit: Once a trade has been agreed to, the Soxtalk community who isn't taking on a persona has an opportunity to collectively act as Commissioner. If the general consensus is that the trade is too lopsided, the deal falls apart. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) Frazier, fine, but they are downgrading immensely from Springer to Melky, especially defensively. I'll call Atlanta, Boston, New York, LA, Washington, and about 15 other teams with my 40 home run hitting third baseman and Cy Young caliber starting pitcher then. You've got an opportunity here to get an ace who can carry you into the World Series and a proven power bat. Throw Marisnick out in center if you want defense but it's really not my problem. Call me when you're ready to deal - my assets might be around still.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 09:09 PM) Now they are created a SECOND hole to replace. I just so happen to have this Melky Cabrera or Todd Frazier guy to offer you.

If I'm Hahn, the ask for Huston is Bregman, Springer, +++

QUOTE (JoshBBR @ Nov 17, 2016 -> 03:49 PM) The Braves system is loaded. There are a couple people that suggest the Braves don't have upper echelon pitching in their org and thats a lie. I love a lot of pieces in that org. I also see a trade not involving Swanson as a possibility. Something like Albies.Fried.Riley would be a great return and a win for both teams in my eyes. I honestly think Fried could end up the #1 SP prospect next season if he can keep the mechanics clean and goes about obtaining better conditioning in the offseason (showed serious fatigues after 4th most outings). Tall LHP that can throw 97 with a devastating curve. Both get 75-70 grades from me. Welcome to Soxtalk Josh.

The astros... because, f*** it.

QUOTE (reiks12 @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Him and Eaton together in that outfield and at the top of the lineup.. Make it happen Hahn! Without considering any other movement - 2017 would look like this... CF - Incarte RF - Eaton 1B - Abreu 3B - Fraizer 2B - Swanson LF - Melky SS - Anderson C - unknown DH - unknown Quintana, Rodon, Gonzales, Shields, Fulmer or pitcher from braves trade Make a s*** ton of more moves and keep it coming. Fills two holes for the rest of this decade and gives us some more depth in our farm. Would be a good start.

Incarte and Eaton would be a sick defensive pairing and a nice 1 / 2 in a lineup for peanuts until what, 2021?

QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 06:54 PM) Sox prospects in danger of being lost per MLB.com: Chicago White Sox (6) 6. Adam Engel, OF 10. Jordan Guerrero, LHP 12. Jacob May, OF 14. Courtney Hawkins, OF 25. Luis Martinez, RHP 27. Nick Delmonico, 1B/OF Sox have the 40-Man set at 38, so you have to figure two of those guys will be added before Friday. Interesting. You'd think they would want to protect more than two of those guys.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 05:11 PM) He's not a good hitter. He's a throw in like a Swithart on the RedSox side. Behahahahahahhaha - dude hit like 295 with an obp of 350 or something with around 20DRS and what 20 sb at a premium CF position. Yea... f*** that throw in. ????

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 16, 2016 -> 12:53 AM) Removing swanson from the equation does those other pieces make sale worth trading for. For me no. That's where I hard disagree with Haymen... hell no. I'd want this from Atlanta... a gross overpay: 1. Swanson ( #4 prospect in MLB ) 2. Incarte 3. Albies ( #12 prospect ) 4. Newcomb ( #46 prospect ) 5. Maitan ( #89 prospect ) Pucker up buttercup.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) Yes having swanson would be great but thats one piece. Yes to me maitan is very young and hasnt even played ball in the us. If you are taking 4 to 5 years away then alot can happen to him either actually making it or not developing into the player you thought he would be. To me i would want to be taking players that can compete along with swanson now or very near future not 4 or more years away. Plus maitan would have to develop in the sox system. Are you that sure he can with them. Tho do you really think the braves are going to trade swanson in the first place. If hes not even close to the picture then nothing to talk to the braves about - Jon Haymen http://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/heyman-bra...m-serious-time/

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 15, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Ya i was kinda confused by that too. Both texas teams to me are at the bottom of the list for me. Even the rest of the guys were like both Texas teams are good to trade with. Outside of bregman i dont see much high end pieces for Houston. Rangers really dont have many exciting players. The really werent high on dodgers prospects after urias. Wasnt too thrilled with that podcast Only thing I could come up with was planted posturing for LA and BOS. I'd say that's possible but a pretty big leap of cognitive dissonance.
