They announced during a break that Greg Oden is done for the year again. I can't help but to feel bad for the guy at this point.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 01:57 PM) I will say, I think that on almost all of these, there's a balance that can be struck. For example, on retirement questions...if there was no such thing as OASDI, I'd be incredibly conservative with my personal investments, because I wouldn't want to wind up being hit with a 2008 or an Enron. Even decades out, I'd be much more conservative if I didn't know I had the federal backstop. But because I know OASDI exists, if I want to put money into a riskier venture with a chance for high gains or total losses, at this point that makes more sense. On education...we can argue back and forth about whether private school admission should pay as much attention to funding as it does, but at the upper levels, we've managed to come up with at least a moderately workable balance between community colleges, publicly funded larger institutions, and privately funded top tier schools. FWIW if you're a young person who didn't touch any of their investments, by now they might not have recouped 100% of their losses or to exactly where they were pre-crash but they've probably gotten back a reasonable amount of value. Every stock (and I mean EVERY stock) has a sharp V shape in its graph in late 2008-early 2009 so mutual funds and things like that have gotten back a lot of value. It would've hurt bad if you were in your 60s and had to rely on it for income, and sold things at the deflated value. Those losses are permanent.

Rose 4-5 from downtown - he's no Ben Gordon yet but he's getting better. He only made 16 in each of the past 2 seasons and he's already (72 and 60 attempts) and now he's already got 11 this year in 9 games. His 3PT% is creeping up steadily.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 16, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) Tell that to El Al. If our security procedures were as tight as they are in Israeli airports, it 1) wouldn't be cost-effective, the U.S. is waaaay bigger than Israel and 2) would cause everyone here to flip all the way the f*** out because of how over-the-top intrusive it is.

I haven't read all 8 pages, it'd take too long but I know the gist of what the argument is and who's going to say what. This whole thing is a catch-22. Obviously you don't want people sneaking bombs onto planes and you don't want to be so intrusive either. But what's the one place the TSA isn't going to look?

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:57 PM) What happened in that Giants game? Those weren't blitzes. They were rushing four.

So my friend was asked to do something at work in another department, he told the supervisor that the person assigned to that dept. could do it. The supervisor said "it's a woman." He said "she gets paid the same as me, she could do the same amount of work." He got fired for being "sexist." Uhh... not the best way of saying it, but that's the OPPOSITE of sexist. Unless someone really believes that women are inherently inferior to men and shouldn't be having that job in the first place?

Jacking off tends to help that too.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 09:46 PM) What a throw by McNabb. The Skins finally show up after I post this. lol.

I wonder is the FCC going to shut down this horrific broadcasting of a live rape/snuff film. If this was a dog fight Vick would be getting the electric bath ready for the Redskins.

QUOTE (longshot7 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) They to raise the s*** out of the ones for people over $200K. When Kennedy took over in 1961, it was like 71%, and we all know how prosperous the 50s were economically. Don't forget to bomb all the factories in Germany and Japan first. China too for good measure

The f*** is wrong with you guys?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 07:24 PM) lol if that was the only Palin post. She get stalked practically by the left. She is an attention whore, and the left is all but too willing to pay the trick. There isn't as much Palin talk on here as y'all make it sound (and I'm aware I made an anti-Palin post yesterday, only one in months) but you also can't tell me she's not a legitimate political figure.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 06:53 PM) Wow, you all sure get twisted about Sarah Palin pretty easy. lol dude BigSqwert posted an article and another link and that was that.

Looking at the replays of Favre's interceptions, he seems to have a bad case of Jay Cutler Syndrome. That is, his WRs are falling down, or the balls get tipped off their hands right at a DB and the fans all jump on him for it and say he sucks. He does right now actually, but that's not the point.

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 03:31 AM) im gonna go ahead and be pretty ballsy and declare that there is no chance the Bears beat Miami Thursday.. Weve lost to Baltimore, New England, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh.. and shoulda beat Pitt but the refs screwed us over.. that's pretty much 4 of the best 5 teams in the NFL right there with Atlanta being the other.. It doesn't matter if Thigpen is playing QB, he can do plenty enough to win the game with the way our defense has been playing and my expectancy that Nolans blitzing is going to have a field day on Cutler.. Blitzing, by itself, doesn't really do anything to Cutler. I think there is this assumption that all you have to do is throw an extra rusher at Cutler and he'll automatically fold like Grossman did (Grossman couldn't move and couldn't throw over the line). He's going to see the hole in coverage and he's going to burn it. Cutler's interceptions happen when he throws at guys who blatantly aren't open or when he gets baited like a DB and a fair amount of time it's one of his WRs f***ing the route up after the ball is released (usually Knox)

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 04:33 PM) FDR, Churchill, Hitler, MLK, LBJ, Kissinger, and now potentially one of these choices. Depressing. Well "Person of the Year" isn't an award

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 11:46 AM) Really? I'm on the brink of 'hiding' you. I only answered like 2/3 of the questions (people were asking me some pretty freaky s*** that I didn't want to answer) I had dozens of questions. I think it's over now though. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 15, 2010 -> 12:11 PM) I thought the same thing, but then I'm not sure how to unhide people for when this Q&A thing is over. It's at the bottom of the news feed on the right. "Edit options"

This Facebook Q&A thing is funny as hell!

I love when this commercial comes on only because of the woman in the black lingerie.

If there was a stat for "Interceptions Caused" then I'd wager that Johnny Knox would be leading the NFL in it and probably led last year too.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 14, 2010 -> 04:28 PM) Jamarcus Webb still got owned a decent amount of times by Ray Edwards. Cutler's making it easier on the o-line by using his feet a lot more though. Surprisingly, the running game was over the century mark today. They looked brilliant compared to the first few weeks. That was about as bad of a performance as I've ever seen from a line.
-
Don't look now, but the O-line is giving some decent pass protection. edit: Except Omiyale. He f***ing sucks, all for the better though because Cutler knows it's going to happen and runs to the right, and he's better while he's moving.
