QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 19, 2010 -> 02:15 AM) I'm doing both. It's to the point AND entertaining! Just like I told Greg, sometimes it's best to just leave stuff alone.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 09:13 PM) I always say OPS, as in the three letters. Same with OBP, but for SLG, I just say slugging or slugging%. As for the even more advanced stuff, I'll say stuff like UZR, cause that sounds like the three letters stand for something. For things like wOBA and WAR, I say the whole word out. For SLG I say "he slugs .518" or what have you.
-
I know it's kind of a silly question but I'm curious since in regular offline conversations I don't usually talk to people in much depth about baseball stats. In my head I read it as a word that rhymes with "cops." Also when I see OBP I say out loud "on-base percentage" and not the three letters. I was watching a broadcast of a game and the announcer made reference to it which was a pleasant surprise since they usually don't reference advanced stats, even OPS, and OPS and WHIP are probably the easiest to understand. Anyway the announcer said the three letters O-P-S. The second time he said it he said "on base plus slugging." Do most people just say it as a word, like I do?

lol no I mean literally a fox. Like wow I've never seen one before.
-
How can you cite winning percentage as credit to Lovie and blame Angelo for Lovie's failings (truthfully, it's both) when Angelo was around for the whole period too? If Lovie needs his "horses" to win, didn't the GM give him most of those horses when he was winning?

Other than the fact that the meatballs in this spaghetti are made out of turds, it tastes really good.

Have you ever seen a fox? And then realized "s*** that's a fox, I've never seen one in real life"?

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 01:41 AM) I would like to say alittle part of me thinks this was a hell of a publicity stunt from her. Didn't she say in an interview she wanted to be as well known in America as she is in Mexico? Didn't hurt the team she was getting "harassed" with is in New York. The only reason I say "alittle part" is I don't think she necessarily attended to be this much of a story, especially with womans rights group getting involved. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 03:35 AM) i wish i could rush into a WNBA womens locker room as a reporter with tight jeans showing off my formidable bulge with a bunch of naked women walking around after a long game and then accuse them of something assinine afterwards.. She is not the one who complained (she says "I'll say as I said a thousand times, I am not the one who condemned the fact" in Spanish). She's riding the attention wave right now but it was the women's reporter's association or whatever it's called that got involved on her behalf.
-
Ah gotcha. Unless she wears those jeans a couple of sizes larger (which is going to look stupid) then her ass is going to show. Now the other times where she does interviews in a halter top, yes that's inappropriate. Not this though.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 18, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) What was 'wrong' was she wore tight jeans that displayed her ass prominently in a very testosterone filled locker room. How would you suggest she not do that? Her ass is big and that's why her pants are tight and not vice versa (they don't make womens jeans the same way they do for men). There's women who dress like that at my job where the dress code is business attire (on dress down days). Nobody is drooling because you can see the shape of a woman's behind through her pants. And I'm already conceding the issue of the locker room but I don't know why any reporters are in there to begin with. Like someone else mentioned they have separate interviews in the NBA where its mandatory and players get fined for ducking the media. I don't see why they can't do this in the NFL.
-
I still want someone to explain to me what's wrong with the jeans she was wearing. I'm getting pretty bored with arguments by assertion repeating the same thing without addressing this when I've condeded all the other points.

If you're going to post in this thread, stay on topic. No sexist jokes.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 05:46 PM) Yeah, I'm glad I know that they're only training exercises. On the bright side... if you happen to be taking a s*** and a fire mission suddenly comes up, the reaction your body gives you will finish it for you.
-
I wouldn't put Rand Paul in that category though. I mean he's stepped on his dick a couple of times, sure, but mostly he seems like he knows what he's talking about (not that I agree with most of his views but still).

couldn't have been meningitis could it?

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Google her wearing the white ones. And I'll add some fuel to the fire. http://web22.twitpic.com/img/160963232-058...93ddd8-full.jpg I will agree with lost though, it is common in Mexico. In fact.. there are much better looking woman with bodies than her currently reporting. Hell, thats how Sofia Vergara got famous. I think this pic is what she was wearing to the Jets practice. There is nothing wrong with how she is dressed here and nobody's bothered to present an argument as to why her clothes there are wrong, every time I ask someone they change the subject or don't answer, and if they do it's "her pants are too tight." Well when your ass is that big, of course your pants will be tight. That's like telling a woman with big tits that her shirts are too tight... if she isn't showing cleavage then what's she supposed to do? There is no shame to their game at all in Mexico, you walk down the street and you see a woman wearing a corset and a short skirt standing outside of a store selling jewelry or whatever.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 08:33 AM) Or she could have dressed like a professional doing a job instead of a girl going out for the night. There is a difference between wearing comfortable or casual clothes and what she wore and wears to her "job". She's well aware of the attention she gets wearing those clothes, especially when she does it in mexico. You didn't get at what was talking about. What was wrong with what she was wearing THAT DAY? Yes I've seen other pictures with her showing some skin at interviews and whatnot (this is pretty normal in mexico fwiw) but that's not what I'm talking about and I'm not disputing that point either. She has an ass, what's she supposed to do, wear jogging pants? Baggy jeans? Pam Oliver has a big ass too, she can't hide it, its always there regardless of what she wears. She's said she never has that problem.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 17, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) Working near Camp Pendleton this week. Artillery shells going off in the background is a bit unsettling. lol I know what that's like... now imagine it being in a combat zone and having it only be about 200 meters from where you're living.
-
I don't know why reporters (male or female) go in the locker room to begin with, that just seems like something that should be private. That said, how was Sainz dressed skanky? I'm not talking about her bikini pictures on the internet, I'm talking about how she was dressed the day the Jets players supposedly started catcalling etc. She had on a white button down shirt that wasn't showing skin, and some jeans - yes the jeans were tight but we're talking about womens jeans, not mens jeans. She would have to deliberately hide the fact that she has a nice ass.

3 minutes!

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) http://deadspin.com/5636603/lets-talk-abou...nd-the-sideline What other "reporter" dresses like this? I'm not disagreeing with you, but that's not how she was dressed on that day.
-
she had a point in response to the people who are saying she was dressed inappropriately, saying the button down shirt and jeans she had was not inappropriate. Its not like she went out there in a thong bikini, really all she did was not hide the fact that she has a nice ass.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) That box score is gay. Mauer hit a legitimate 3-run HR. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) No, it was deep. Real HR. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) It was a bomb, definitely cleared the fence. I was gonna type "I feel better" but no. I don't.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 09:35 PM) This is actually getting pretty embarrassing. Getting?

Uhh... not watching the game but I look at the box score and I see inside-the-park home run? To RF... geez, f***ing Quentin
