Flacco having some issues with protection for the part of the half that I saw
-
I haven't heard many Bears fans actually trying to rationalize it, just about everybody I've talked to thinks the rule is bulls***. The only place I've seen that is comments on the Yahoo news article and everyone there is an idiot so it doesn't count.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 06:58 PM) Just wondering why all the major talk show hosts on radio seem to be conservative? Why is that? Seems we have more Democrats/liberals out there. Why does the conservative radio/TV host thing seem to be the norm? Man. There's not a short answer to this really. There's like an entire industry dedicated to it, before cable TV was the big thing, talk radio was pretty much the exclusive domain of conservatives and that's where your Limbaugh types came from. Liberals tried it but what they come up with is a joke compared to conservative talk shows. Conservatives just weren't as successful on TV as they were on radio, for as much of a household name he was from radio, Limbaugh's attempt at a TV show was a total bust. Then came Fox and conservative hosts just kind of slid naturally into it. Liberals for the most part don't believe there is a "liberal media" (that argument's never going to be settled, people believe what they believe) so they just don't have the talking head factory the conservatives do. To a liberal, the "liberal media" is basically "the media" which includes everything that isn't Fox News, the Wall Street Journal editorial page, talk radio, Andrew Breitbart, Matt Drudge, the New York Post, and the Washington Times. That's basically the entire conservative media though and conservatives scoff at the rest of the media. That's the short version, the long version is probably like book length.

Well I mean of course people feel different about Konerko getting an extension when he is hitting .220 going into August, following a year where he was pretty average (2008 and 2007) compared to a year where he is a legit MVP candidate having the best year of his career, let alone in this contract. Why do people want to act like they know something everybody else didn't?

Meathead post I saw today: "Do you think a Mike Singltary team would come out and play like that?" Singletary's team got curb stomped by Seattle today. I'm just saying.

I don't really hold the Colombo pick against JA. That series of events was just bad luck. It's not like the way they handled the Benson situation that was just throwing gas on the fire.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 10:52 PM) I was actually pleasantly surprised today. Both sides of the ball played much better than I anticipated, although the O-line was a bit of a concern, as expected. We did dominate on both sides of the ball though, and most games, we would have won easily with those performances. I think as these guys get accustomed to playing one another, and Jay starts trusting Martz to not get him killed with his protection schemes, I think we'll see something really special on offense - more than we have ever really seen as Bears fans outside of short stretches while Erik Kramer and Rex Grossman were behind center. I, for one, am excited by what I saw, despite the near loss, and am very much looking forward to next Sunday. Frank Omiyale is still literally the worst player in the NFL.

Oh and its nice to see Forte being used properly.

Man did the Bears luck out. Offense killed a couple drives with fumbles and drops in the first half and stalled in the second half but they somehow managed to do enough to win. The decision to go for it was one of lovies dumbest decisions ever. Like calling the timeout at the end of the seattle game bad (playoffs notwithstanding)

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Honestly guys, if you were inside the one, you would go for it too. The Bears just don't have the horses to do so. Don't blame the decision on Lovie. Blame the management in Angelo. No. I would take the lead knowing that the Lions offense can't score.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) Ah, I forgot how awful Jay Cutler is. G-reg and Forte suck as well. lol well this is a meathead overreaction post if I ever saw one.

A guy was b****ing on Facebook that the Bears let Ron Rivera go because he was on the '85 Bears and they shouldn't have treated him like that. I was like dude get f***ing serious. That is like item 89 on the list of reasons (I actually don't give a s*** that Rivera is gone, only that he was replaced with Babich)

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 12, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) You guys are all second guessing deluxe. Nobody knew Thome would succeed this year, just as nobody knew Crede would suck last year. One man did not ruin our season. Our pitching has failed us on MANY occasions. We have many holes in our lineup, not just the absence of Thome who many Sox fans wanted to run out of town. Second guessing is easy but not always right. Greg don't you remember everybody ripping you last year about it being time to let go of Crede? -
So I used to have an addiction to gadgets/PC hardware upgrades that I thought I finally shook, I had to stop because s*** gets expensive. I think I'm relapsing though. I bought a wireless printer/scanner a month ago, okay, I needed that because my old one was from 2003. I want a solid state drive to boot and run programs from, ok fine I can deal with one more upgrade and this one would be a pretty substantial upgrade. But I can never do just one thing, now I wanna get a hexacore CPU and new motherboard even though I have no real need for it whatsoever... right now I have a quad core and 8 GB of RAM and there aren't any programs I use that actually tax my CPU. Oh and I want a new graphics card too because the one I have is old. See how this goes? I used to do this once, twice a year, and my wallet hated me for it.

I kinda saw where the commercial was going when I was watching it, I thought it made its point pretty well though.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 01:19 PM) 36 but most people think I look 35 and 11 months. My friend Toya keeps making comments about you to me after she sees you post on my FB. lol. I ask "why the f*** are you telling me this?"

Vikings really are missing Sidney Rice

I see things straight from the source often enough that i don't really have to put qualifiers on my arguments. I can only take so much of that because I honestly get creeped out when I read discussion on certain conservative sites too long.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) I don't agree with that. Big powerful money were not organizing the early rallies and what not - that just isn't the case. Now, these big Glenn Beck scream-and-shout hate-the-world chorus events, sure, those are backed by big bucks. I'm not sure exactly at what point this happened, but by the time April '09 came around (funny cuz Obama hadn't been in office a full fiscal quarter yet) Fox News was blatantly promoting it without even attempting a pretense or any kind of subtlety, and mocking other networks for not promoting it.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) Then by definition grass-roots efforts are incredibly rare if not non-existent since they start as small groups and later get aid from the powerful and wealthy to spread the message. Either way you want to define it, it's still a "movement" that's getting a lot of participants becoming more vocal and active about their government. Not really an incorrect statement. The only true "grassroots" movement I can think of was Ron Paul's campaign, and the early stages of Obama's campaign.

You know, when I read about this topic where conservatives are talking about it more or less unchallenged I've seen several times people say explicitly "finally someone is standing up to Islam," "Muslims won't tell us how we should act," or some combination or variation on that.

Damn, check out this dividend http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=AGNC (i don't think it's always that high but yeah... that's a lot)
