QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) Was it speed or just being in the right place at the right time? He had a huge hole to run through, and probably 99 pct of the running backs in the NFL score on that play. Yeah I was about to say the same thing. The next 2 plays were failed running plays, the same typical non-hole that Forte has been getting all year, and that Bell got for most of the game outside of that run.

Official 2009-2010 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 10:23 AM) I was talking more in general. I don't talk Bears just at this site. I spend quite a bit of time at the main Bears message board. And don't even get me started on the post-game shows on the Score and ESPN1000. Whenever Cutler throws a pick or overthrows a WR it's because Turner put him in a s***ty position. Cutler threw almost 20 picks last year. And that was with a pro-bowl line and some pretty damn good wideouts to throw to. So it's not like Cutler had this pinpoint accuracy, ala Tom Brady, and it just completely vanished because of Turner. Again, I'm not saying you or SSI are stating that. But it's not like it's not out there. That was mostly directed at Dick Allen, and the posters who will come in and make similar posts in the next 2-3 days.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 08:32 AM) Why can't Cutler be blamed for missing 3 wide open receivers? How is that Turner's fault? As for the vanilla offense, look what happens when they try anything different. They lose big yards. Jim Miller was talking about it weeks ago. The personnel can't grasp anything that isn't simple. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 23, 2009 -> 09:02 AM) The Jay Cutler ass kissing is definitely getting annoying. He's no doubt been part of the problem. You know what's far more annoying than that? Seeing people put words into other peoples' mouths and turning criticism shortcomings of other players/coaching into some dumbass "Cutler apologist" meme. Where did SSI say that Turner was to blame for Cutler missing 3 open WRs? Where did ANYONE say that? Such predictable comments. Makes me not even want to bother talking about the game actually.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 22, 2009 -> 11:53 PM) I wish I hadn't seen it... I hate to say it because I so want Cutler to succeed but man,he kinda sucks.Misses some easy ass passes,I thought he was supposed to be accurate? Look at his stats, he hasn't been that inaccurate outside of today. There's a bunch of reasons why he has 18 INTs... not all of them have to do with him. Today he looked rattled because he had to keep backing up to get away from blitzers, and you could tell he was trying to be conservative because he was worried about the week before and all those INTs. Mentally he's just all over the place right now. Also, Ron Turner kind of sets him up to fail (awaiting inevitable "you are a Cutler apologist" reply)

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 21, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) I was just providing another example of how MSNBC is the liberal version of Fox News. Could you imagine anyone on Fox saying something like that about a Republican President? Meh the presence of Joe Scarborough hosting a show in the morning (nevermind who Mika's father is, she is easily convinced by whatever Joe says) and the fact that Pat Buchanan is taken seriously on that network already kind of throws a big dent in that. Of course MSNBC is biased overall, and is pretty unapologetic about it, but they aren't anywhere near as good at blatantly pushing an agenda and dominating the direction of a national argument as Fox is. If they really were trying to be the liberal Fox they would try harder.

I don't really know why Matthews counts as part of the "liberal media," he's really just a hack.

This is being talked about because it's on the front page of the Drudge Report. Another reason Matt Drudge is f***ing obnoxious.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 10:10 PM) you might want to extend that to 16years. GW and Clinton had the same corporate economic strategy. The situation we are in certainly isn't Obama's fault. But as much as you wish it was, it isn't a GOP only caused problem. You are going to have to face reality here. Bill Clinton was as much to blame as anyone for the banking bailout disaster. lol alan greenspan. The leadership strategy reflects American expectations, i.e. more, more, more, more, cheap cheap cheap cheap, must force others to do America's bidding. May as well go all the way back to Reagan where you can see the break start to sharpen. Jimmy Carter, for as weak and ineffective as he was, tried to tell the nation we need to live within our means, nobody wanted to hear it. Reagan told us what we wanted to hear (do what you want, take as much as you want, the bills won't ever come due) and he did 2 terms and was highly popular. A couple of years we'd go from a creditor to a debtor nation and our trade balance would go in the red and never recover. It doesn't matter if a D or a R is in office, they push the same economic strategies with sometimes different styles. Congress is close to useless when it comes to economics.

If you're an NFL GM, what round would you pick Lebron?
I actually didn't know he played in HS btw.

I think the only people that height are DLs, OLs (which he isn't bulky enough for) or TEs.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 19, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) Ok, I agree with that. And Balta, I don't think "independent moderates" are going to vote for Obama again... I'm pretty sure the "are you better off then you were four years ago" will really mean something once again. But the Republicans will need a real conservative, not a moderate, and dismiss the f***ed up crazy lady back to Alaska. If a Republican is going to win in 2012 it'll be someone we haven't talked about yet. In other words not Giuliani, Palin, Romney, Huckabee, etc. None of those guys would beat Obama. It's still really early in the game, and to be honest it's really annoying that we were already talking about 2012 in December 2008. Obama just got elected a year ago, we're just over 1/4 of the way to the next one... f***ing hell.
