  1. I've heard on CSN Tribune Live sometime ago that there is a lot of big name OC Coordinators name that turned down invitations to even interview in Chicago, because of Lovie. Something to think about.
  2. Yup the gf/wife charter part I have no problem believing. The coaching staff respect... I'm not necessarily buying that.
  3. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) both Sale and Danks were friendly and nice. Chit chatting, smiling, having a good time. Was awesome to see. Sale was hungover as hell from the night before

    Job Hunt Thread

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) It's definitely a bit more expensive to live here but salaries are higher here than in Chicago. You can try using one of those online cost of living comparison calculators. Gracias!

    Job Hunt Thread

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) I hope Balta doesn't decide to do the Skype interview where he keeps the wall of zombie heads in fish tanks as seen on AMC's The Walking Dead. Sqwert, How is the cost of living in Seattle compared with Chicago?

    The Food

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 25, 2012 -> 01:35 PM) Polish meal is the way to go. Herring, borsch, bigos, yum yum. Overloaded on this the past two days.
  7. QUOTE (PtownSoxfan @ Dec 24, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) Long time lurker, first time poster. Grew up in St. Louis. Most of my family are/were Cardinal fans. Have current family that works at Busch Stadium. My grandpa is in the amateur wing of the Cards HOF. Never was a big fan of the team though. We got WGN pretty early on and I gravitated towards the Cubs & Sox when I was a kid. I really became a Soxfan around 91.. new park, Frank of course, Hawk & Wimpy, Blackjack, and to a 10 year old kid.. the coolest uniforms in the game. The Cubs just seemed old hat, boring and as I got older, their fans and the whole loveable loser mentality really turned me off and I became a full blown Sox fan and emersed myself in the game as a whole and the team itself. Not sure why ive waited so long to post either, ive been following this board off and on (mostly on) for over 7 years now (didnt actually register until last year). Love it here. Welcome! Please post more!
  8. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 24, 2012 -> 03:27 PM) I thought that the story line would have been more solid considering its based on the books but there was a whole lot that just made me laugh out loud. Particularly some of the stuff from the lawyer chick. It was okay as a whole though. It wasn't terrible, 'okay' is probably a good way to rate it.
  9. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) That right there tells me they already have a few offers in one of their outfielders. I don't think they make this move unless they do. I kinda doubt they'd trade anything of value for a platoon player and unless they plan on moving Dayan to 3B there's no room for all 4 of them. This. It seems like some of us here want a trade just to make a trade.
  10. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Jack Reacher: Not too bad. Gonna give it a shot Sunday.
  11. Computers do not agree with you guys and say Sox are one of the least improved teams this offseason. See table in this article.
  12. ‏@gordonbeckham As I'm sure everybody has heard, we are going to miss AJ. He has been such a great friend to me over the last 3.5 yrs. One great Southsider.
  13. Flowers on AJ: "He was a very mature, positive influence on me this year, helping me understand baseball and life and fatherhood." -- Merkin Such a scumbag that AJ is.
  14. Pierzynski got $7.5M to be more precise. #rangers -- Heyman
  15. A.J. Pierzynski's 1-yr deal #rangers deal is worth about $7M -- Heyman
  16. I'm not liking losing AJ but I've been preparing for this for a while so this isn't really news.
  17. What are some FA catchers on the market?
  18. Interesting or maybe not so interesting tidbit: Jeff Keppinger is listed as a primary backup at 3B, SS, 2B at the White Sox depth chart on the official website. Brent Morel is listed as the starting 3B.
  19. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:13 PM) A potential starter at catcher in MLB at some point. Flowers is not one, or at least not a decent one. Phegley lost some time in development because of a disease he was battling, however I don't think the book is out on him yet.
  20. Still no word on the money in this deal?
  21. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) Yeah, the only way to possibly defend this move is from a business perspective. We just got a massive downgrade in a huge position of need. Do we have any capable catchers in the minors? Giminez, Phegley, not sure of your definition of capable.
