LOL @ Carl Getz. I know the clubs submit lists of their likely starters...I wonder if that is a White Sox problem rather than an MLB problem.
-
I kinda think Alexei should get some slack at SS. There aren't too many players who move there after not playing that position for a few years.
-
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) Let's see Ozzie make that play. Ha. He definitely has the tools to play a good SS.

Ryan Freel has a funny beard.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Well everyone wanted to see the kids play... Now we are seeing them. I'm not sure everyone wanted to see Beckham play out of position. Josh Fields, at this point, is probably a better hitter than Getz. Getz fields his position better. Beckham, so far, has been significantly worse than Fields at 3rd imo.

Why is Cooper talking to MB? There was like one hard hit ball this inning.

I'd like to see the replay one more time, but on the replay he definitely looked out.

Which two worlds is this song the best of?

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) He'll never get back to the 20's in home runs if he keeps trying to pull everything onto the concourse. It's sickening to watch major league hitters try and pull an outside breaking ball 400+ ft only to pop it up to the 3B. He's currently on pace to hit 20 homeruns.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 05:44 PM) If you can get them to take their best reliever out of the game, you do it. Who is their best reliever? Certainly not Marmol this year.

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Hey...Norris is a great name Especially as a first name. Good times.

Some good names in this trade.

LOL@ Your Love lighting Beckham up inside.

Just heard Murph on the Score's webcast. Looked on the website and it did mention him. I assume he will be a fill-in guy.

.375 .524 .625 in the last 5 games.

Again, Ted Williams' BABIP was .429 the year he hit .400 and (of course) this was abnormally high for him. In the unlikely event that someone does hit .400 again, it is possible that thier BABIP will be over .400. Yes, there will be a lot of luck involved.
-
I'm not sure why he was listed on Bristol's roster for a while, but he has been playing for Kanny again. Now OPSing .563 and has a 9/16 BB:K.
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) Not really, a player can hit a bunch of homers and that wouldn't factor into BABIP. I think his point was that he has been getting lucky and that it will eventually go down back to his career average, which is probably .350. Ah, you are correct. My bad. I was thinking that BABIP included homeruns. However, Ted Williams' BABIP was .429 when he hit over .400. His BABIP was higher than Mauer's in most other years as well--obviously he was a better hitter and I'm guessing he was playing in larger parks on the road.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 12:08 AM) Not a chance. His BABIP is .424. There's just no way that's going to hold over the course of a season (or in Mauer's case, 5 months). .350 is much more realistic. You do realize that, by definition, a hitter must have a BABIP over .400 in order to average .400 on the season, right? That his BABIP is high goes without saying. It's like saying "No way his batting average will stay that high--because obviously his batting average is too high."

QUOTE (smalls2598 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 08:17 AM) LOL that's awesome. When we got to the game on Saturday, we had about 10 different people come up to him to say how they saw him on the news the night before. Unfortunately, the news had shown him while he was sleeping in the late innings of the Friday game. However, he was a big hit. People of all ages were taking photos with him, a few people bought him beer, and he was even rocking out with the band that plays outside the stadium after each game. He goes by Carlos Cluckin or the South Side Chicken. Become the South Side Chicken's friend on Facebook, and upload any photos you take with him. He will be at the Saturday game in Cincinnati, too. I figured he might post here--close enough. The Milwaukee broadcast on Friday featured him heavily late in the game when he was looking sad and tired. During that time they also showed clips from earlier in the game when he was up and flapping his wings.

Mike North/Webio/FBI troubles
JorgeFabregas replied to Kyyle23's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) Flashback! for those of you who remember, this was the Facebook message I got from JHood after I told him i wouldnt listen to the Webio because it was a Mike North venture: That's what I've been remembering since this story broke. I'm sure the on-air talent loved him if/while he was cutting big checks. -
Too bad his confidence is shattered.

QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) LOL anyone else see that guy yelling "YOU SUCK!!!"? Yep

I wonder if Beckham could steal home or at least get a good lead. Parra seems totally focused on Dye and Ramirez. Well, too late now.
