  1. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) If he opts out the Mets can still make him a QO. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/10/expl...fer-system.html "Qualifying offers operate independently of options. Hence, a player can receive a qualifying offer even if their option is declined (whether by team or player) or if they opt out of a deal." Hmm, interesting. Well then he kind of hurts himself by opting out every year and always forcing a team to burn a pick to sign him.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 04:21 PM) MAde more sense last year when the Sox had a) a protected pack and b) Cespedes didn't have draft pick compensation tied to him. I just cannot see the Sox forfeiting the #12 pick all things considered. I don't believe he would have a draft pick attached to him if he chooses to opt out. I don't think that makes him eligible for a QO.
  3. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 01:16 AM) Lots of ex Sox on the Giants. WC game hero Gillaspie, Beckham, Peavy , Samardzija. Every major Chicago sports team has won a championship in my lifetime except the Cubs. No reason to change that. Wow I had no idea that Beckham was on the team.
  4. I really want to get Mafia 3 on Friday....but the lack of reviews due to 2K not sending out review copies for media to use to give reviews prior to release is pretty scary.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 11:50 PM) Giants have no chance. It will be a sweep as a matter of fact. San Fran does not have the team. Anemic lineup. Cubs have bruisers. Cubs roll. Sweep. I can't imagine this is possible with that game 3 matchup of Little Game Jake Arrieta and October Massacre Madison Bumgarner facing off.
  6. In my heart, I badly want the Cubs to lose. But I can't openly cheer against them as I try to be above all that. So I won't be a dick to my Cubs fan friends and mock them or root for the Giants, but I would laugh manically inside if Samardzija torches them in Game 2.
  7. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 6, 2016 -> 12:16 AM) Non-PPR....pick 2 WR for this week. Will Fuller vs Minnesota (proj. 8.1) Quincy Enunwa vs. Pittsburgh (proj. 7.6) or pick up (would drop Bernard) Travis Benjamin vs. Oakland (proj. 8.7) (But I also have Melvin Gordon) (Coates, Royal, Cobb, Cruz, Kerley are all also available). I currently have Fuller and Enunwa in there. I keep sitting Fuller, and he keeps producing. I just picked up Enunwa this morning on waivers, and with Decker out a lackluster Marshall, he could be a decent option. Only reason I hesitate to take Benjamin is that I have Melvin Gordon already and only one of them can get the TD on any given drive, so it just makes me nervous.
  8. Non-PPR....pick 2 WR for this week.
  9. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 12:03 AM) Agreed. I just worry that there will be some severe markup on the Model 3 to get all the features we as end users expect. Are you planning to get the Model 3? I am a rabid Tesla fan and have been dreaming of owning once since I showed everyone their concept Roadster back in 2006 or 2007. As far as I have heard, there will be a cost for Autopilot, and assuming it's around the rumored $2000, I would not even think twice about adding it on. Assuming I can figure out a way to earn the entire $7500 tax credit, I plan on using that $7500 to budget for upgrades/fees on it. $2000 on autopilot, $1500 for delivery cost, that leaves me with $4000 for upgraded sound system and maybe the cold-weather package. Or I might just use that $4000 on a larger battery.
  10. Phew, 3-1 without Brady, Gronk, and Keenan Allen! Also, Hopkins wasn't very great, but I traded him for Elliot and that made the difference this week for me.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 02:05 PM)
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 07:32 AM) I wonder if the 1973 movie is part of the timeline. It kind of seemed that way when they referenced previous rebellions It's not.
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 06:40 PM) So we've had this Q7 a little over 2 months, and I have to say, this is by far the best car I have ever owned. The advancements in technology in regards to autonomous driving have really occurred more quickly than I anticipated. This isn't necessarily the most fun vehicle I have ever owned, but it offers by far the safest and most solid driving experience from a car I have ever owned. Tell me about it! Every time the current Tesla fleet gets updated, I get more and more excited about my Model 3 that will have all of these updates on DAY ONE. It's moving so damn fast.
  14. QUOTE (farmteam @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 10:52 PM) Westworld was very good. I'm intrigued. Jeffrey Wright is great. Westworld was really intriguing, but I am still a bit confused on how the park works. But I'm hoping the coming episodes explain some more of that stuff.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) Every other place has them 12th. They have worse winning pct Oh s***, you're right. I was thinking in my head since I wanted Sale to win, that if the Pirates didn't win, we would drop to 13th. But the Sox lost so it didn't matter.
  16. Welp, Baldwin only got me 5, Beasley only 6, and Fuller got 20 pts on my bench....ugh. LUCKILY THOUGH, Elliot got 21, Crowell got 20, Gordon got 17. I'm up by 21.4 and all he has left is Vikings D. And while they HAVE put up more than that 2 of the 3 weeks so far, they are only projected for 10.5 points against the Giants. It might be close.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 07:26 PM) Thought they are 12th No....I said yesterday. They needed Pirates to win and Sox had to lose.
  18. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Oct 2, 2016 -> 12:49 AM) In my best Sublime voice: I don't practice Renteria, I ain't got no crystal ball If the Sox stay in house, they'll never win it all Quality. Would read again.
  19. QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 11:38 PM) Shelby Miller, come on down... You're the next contestant on "The Deal is f***ing Wrong!" BINGO. Swanson - 0.7 WAR in 36 games. Inciarte - 3.6 WAR in 129 games Blair - (-)0.8 WAR in 14 starts For Miller - 0.6 WAR in 20 starts
  20. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 11:20 PM) What good are 200 healthy but historically terrible innings? The trade alone isn't enough to get someone fired, but added on top of years of team futility (and I'm not even taking into account the midseason debacle, which I've always believed was a battle of Hahn/KW) it was the final straw. The White Sox don't have the payroll flexibility to absorb 9 million dollar oopsies Because if he's pitching 200 innings, he's averaging over 6 IP per start and it's hard to stay in a game that long if you're getting shelled. Even if he somehow manages to repeat his -0.9 WAR performance in 2017, it's still more valuable to do see that over 200 innings versus the 10 other major league pitchers who put up a -0.9 WAR or worse this season without even half the amount of IP that Shields made it through.
  21. The Shields trade should not get anyone fired. What did we give up in that deal? It hasn't worked out for us so far, but we essentially just signed Shields to a 3 yr/$27M deal or whatever it turned out to be. If he can give us 200 healthy innings next year, it isn't going to damage this organization like a trade-that-gets-someone-fired typically would.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 10:50 PM) Renteria has been here for six months. As a part of the Sox organization, correct?
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) They never really threatened for that 10th pick. Just wasn't going to happen this year. They HAD the 10th pick, they weren't just threatening for it. Then the Sox went 13-11 over their last 24 games and screwed that up.
  24. Would much prefer them to go completely out of the org, but this is better than nothing. And as I said before, if the Sox decide to sell parts this offseason, then it won't even matter who our 2017 manager is.
