  1. Far Cry 4's location has been announced, it will take place in the Himalayas, and the release date is Nov. 20th. Many fans are outraged by the fact that they are making an old-gen version, as if Far Cry 3 somehow was not still an awesome game on the "terrible" old-gen systems.
  2. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 14, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) Not saying you in particular, but I do find it funny that you mentioned it's not a particularly big jump from low A to high A (and I agree), yet people wanted Hawkins demoted to Kannapolis last year while he was going through his struggles because they felt his assignment was too aggressive yet Kannapolis would have suddenly fixed everything. For the record, I've never said anything about Hawkins being assigned too aggressively. I try not to get too high or low on anyone until they make AA. That's when the real talent is present and even across the board. The A-ball levels are too much of a crapshoot.
  3. I hope Danish stays in A+ the rest of the year.
  4. QUOTE (southside hitman @ May 14, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) Barons lose in a rain shortened game. They were beaten by an RBI double by Juan Silverio (yes that Juan Silverio). Oh man, I didn't even realize he wasn't in our system anymore. We signed him when he was like 16 or something. I guess in 2013 with the Reds High-A and AA, he hit .287 with 19 HR and 31 2B.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ May 14, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) Wasn't it pretty clear in episode 2? Could've sworn they showed that happen. I don't think so. I mean, we know he got shot in the hand obviously, but I don't think they revealed that it was from a bullet that went through the cop's body, and was owned by Lester himself. If they did, I missed it.
  6. I'm fine with him going to High-A. That's not a terribly huge jump. But they better leave him in High-A the rest of the season (barring playoff experiences). Jumping up again to AA in a couple months may be too large a task.
  7. It was nice to see them show exactly what happened to Lester's hand in Fargo last night. And the whole story with the shotgun makes more sense now. I was confused how/why Malvo happened to be carrying a shotgun with him over to Lester's house after he called him about his wife.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 14, 2014 -> 03:31 PM) I don't see how the Sox can win this challenge. It's almost impossible to follow where the ball hit . Not really. Viciedo's hand was wrapped under the bottom of the bat. There is nothing the ball could have glanced off of and gone that direction, other than his hand.
  9. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:25 PM) Oh my does this game look great. I love some of the side games they've got. TAKE MY MONEY Is what I'd say if I didn't already pay for the game back in September.....
  10. Nice start for Sanchez. He really needs to be moved up to a more age-appropriate level.... 5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. ERA is now 1.31. His K/BB is just under 5. His WHIP is under 1.00. He needs to see some better hitters.
  11. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 13, 2014 -> 04:00 PM) Many people think that elbow problem from infielders are due to the weird off balance throws they make. In the outfield you rarely make this type of throw. However, I agree why mess with the kid unless you are convinced he cannot play the infield. Harold Reynolds thinks that INF arm problems are from being moved around the diamond too much. He pointed to Jurickson Profar's elbow as an example of this from his move from SS to 3B to 2B to LF.
  12. Well, Buddy Bell wasn't kidding a few days ago when he said Micah could be promoted very soon.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2014 -> 06:38 PM) A few minor league splits I found interesting: Hawkins has dominated RHP this year (.291, 8 HR, 1.011 OPS), but has struggled big time vs LHP (.206, 1HR, .641 OPS) M. Johnson splits (RHP: .438/.532/.969) vs (LHP: .341/.257/.599) Also, I believe Matt Davidson doubled his hit total at home today!! I assume that is a typo and Micah's BA vs. LHP should read .241, not .341
  14. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 13, 2014 -> 11:50 AM) 2 complete games [pitching], 7-8 with 6 runs scored, and we won a game for the first time as a team. Dialed in. Do your pitchers usually NOT throw complete games?
  15. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 9, 2014 -> 06:47 AM) Apparently Indiana is not 'regional' enough to Chicago. I got a Trout cover. I'm Chicagoland, Indiana, so I gots my Abreu cover in. It's beautiful.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 13, 2014 -> 12:04 AM) Oak wins 5-4.............never win at that F'N place. We have now lost 6 straight games at that hell hole.
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 13, 2014 -> 12:03 AM) Why isn't Semien hitting here? WHAT? Then move Dunn to this spacious OF? Yikes. EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot Sierra still exists. Semdog would have been nice.
  18. 3 out of 3 Cubans to bat this inning have a hit. The pressure is on Adrian Nieto and Fidel Castro for the remainder of this 9th inning.
  19. Uh oh, the always conflicting matchup of your favorite team vs. your fantasy closer. The dilemma I tell ya, THE DILEMMA!
  20. Funny, I was just about to post that Abreu looks like he doesn't even want to be at the plate right now and that a flailing strikeout was upcoming on that 0-2 pitch.......whoops. Yogi time.
  21. Sheesh, Conor. Did he trip forward and happen to pick that ball? That looked real weird, and that ball was kilt.
