QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 08:29 PM) How many Sox hitters have more than 10 RBI's? 5? 6? Off the top of my head I would say Abreu, Alexei, Dunn, Eaton, Semien, Viciedo.....maybe De Aza? EDIT: Looked it up. I guess Viciedo does not, somehow, and Gillaspie has 12 RBI despite only playing in 16 games and having 0 HR.

Nicely done Adam.

Horrendous AB for Yogi there.
-
Beckham didn't suck!

Eaton is hitting a lot of balls to LF recently. In ST and in the first few games of the year, about 80% of his contact was up the middle. Then he started pulling a lot of balls. Now he is going oppo down the line and in the air. Not sure if this random or on purpose.

2014 Minor League catch all thread

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 12:08 PM) Kussmaul really only transited through WS's roster for the scramble to work. He didn't appear in a game for them. He was at Charlotte, wasn't good, now he's back in AA. He is the guy that Hawk is always raving about as having amazing control. Uses his "he could hit a gnat on the behind" line with him. -
I heard there is going to be a new show called Gotham that is centered around a young Commish Gordon and how some of the villains came to become who they were. I'm not really a comic books guy, and I don't really follow Batman/Spiderman outside of the Hollywood movies, but the show sounds pretty interesting. And of course another reason I want to see it is because Donal Logue is a main character, and I love me some Donal Logue.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 07:51 AM) Having seen, and loved, Cloverfield... i kind of feel like I've already seen Godzilla. I loved Cloverfield too, which I feel not enough people know/remember. Underrated thriller/suspense movie.

Slow pitch softball thread

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 06:25 PM) If you had an aluminum bat before, moving to a good composite can give you 50-60 feet on your hits. If you swung a crappy composite and you move to a great composite, you might get 20 more feet out of it. I had (still have) a DeMarini Distance right now that will be a backup. I am pretty sure it's this one.... http://www.softballbatscentral.com/bat-rev...arini-distance/ I suppose I could just write down the serial numbers when I am done with practice in a couple hours. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 25, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) Hopefully he got out of it. Down over 50% to .22 cents today. Those kind of stocks can crash fast. They were put on a freeze for about a week due to possible investigation. But there is no longer going to be any investigation and they are open for trading again. This obviously scared a lot of people off and it plummeted as a result.

24-year-old, 6'4 LHP. "Listed at 6'4" and weighing in at 195 pounds, Turley is a large dude. Despite his size, Turley isn't considered a power pitcher, with his fastball averaging between 88-92 mph. He takes advantage of his size by pitching downhill and keeping the ball low in the strike zone. He also throws a curveball, which he can "throw for strikes or bury in the dirt," though Turley needs to work on his command. Additionally, Turley features a changeup which scouts say could be a good "out" pitch." Videos - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...c.1.TNtCeEVSiSw Looking at his numbers, he appears to be a high strikeout, low HR-rate guy who has trouble with command. He profiles better as a reliever where he can dial it up to 94-95, but if he can tune up his command and maybe add another pitch, he may be able to stick around in a rotation. In conclusion, I think he would be a nice pickup to at least throw in AA and give him a quick promotion to Charlotte if it works out.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 11:10 AM) Meh, it is playing to the meatballs. White Sox fans would have loved it if someone mocked shooting up steroids around Sosa. Yeah, because we wouldn't be hypocrites. Red Sox fans yelling at the Yankees fans for cheating is hypocritical.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 08:32 PM) Last Week Tonight was good, pretty much what I expected: The Daily Show, but on HBO. I'm hoping it takes on a more serious tone than the Daily Show though, Oliver could really pull it off. A witty, comedic news show instead of a news-oriented comedy show. I just watched that tonight too. I liked it. He had a couple liners that had me rolling, I can't remember what they were though.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 07:47 PM) Not only will I take you up on that, I will say no rain delays at all this game. Nailed it.

Abreu sucks.
-
With Abreu hitting behind Beckham, and Beckham being Beckham, how do you not just pipe 3 fastballs down the middle? Maybe that heckler was right and Hannigan really DOES suck?
-
De Aza continues to run the bases with rocks in his head. What a f***ing idiot I can not stand him one bit, f***ing jackknob.
-
Nope, that was clean.....f***.

Look like a trap to me....

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 07:47 PM) If you're interested in a $20 MLB.com gift card then send me a private message. 4 available. You tricked me.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 07:52 PM) The spray charts disagree. http://www.fangraphs.com/spraycharts.aspx?...ALL&vs2=ALL That doesn't indicate to me that he wears out the hole between 3B and SS. It tells me he hits it pretty much right where the SS should be positioned normally.... ? No?

I can't figure out why some heckler keeps yelling "HANNIGAN YOU SUCK!!!" What am I missing here?
-
QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 07:51 PM) 5 innings 3 runs given up. I'll take it all day long. Yeah, like Hawk said, he really needs to go to that curveball more. Now whether that's Andre or Tyler, not sure, but it's got some loopyness to it.
-
Why are we shifting Longoria to pull? Alexei should be playing him straight up, I don't feel like he is a pull guy.

QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 08:44 PM) Rain delay by 10. Not only will I take you up on that, I will say no rain delays at all this game.
