QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 07:22 PM) Our team SB% this season is 67%, that's not so good. Here are your leaders: TBR 91 - 77% NYM 74 - 81% CHW 71 - 67% SEA 70 - 80% SDP 67 - 72% Have I mentioned lately just how much I hate our base running philosophy? Don't stop running, you might get a bad throw? -

Gavin's 1-2 pitch to Pods = EXACT same pitch Konerko got rung up on. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) It would suck though to have to give up Hudson to get Dunn when we could have just had Thome for a million dollars instead. I'm all for upgrading the offense, but you have to do so without giving up Hudson/Viciedo/Flowers. Trade Danks 2, he sucks anyways. Yeah, I really would like to not lose Hudson/Viciedo/Flowers for Dunn. If Dunn had 15 months remaining on his contract, then sure, but not 3 months.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:58 PM) well sure, you mentioned a speculated deal that never happened 6 years ago, and I mentioned two speculated deals that did happen last year. So yeah, same thing Hindsight.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) LMAO. Whatever Joe, way to completely miss the point I'm just saying, I think we got a chance.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Was it discussed in the media before he was acquired? Yes. That was the question. it happened. Nowhere in Vance Laws post did he indicate a specific qualifying time frame. We don't give the media enough credit then for predicting this months in advance. Hey, I heard the Sox were thinking about getting Alfonso Soriano, I mean, it was like 6 years ago, but the media is talking about it, so......
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:29 PM) yes, this was discussed a ton in the media. Especially Peavy in May. And everyone knew KW claimed Rios, the only question was whether there would be compensation going to the Blue Jays or if the Jays would just send Rios and his contract. Yeah, that's because he was actually traded for in May, and then Peavy shot it down. At no point in July did I ever hear anything about Peavy to the White Sox.
-
QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) Really? Peavy was almost traded earlier in the year, and there were those who believed (correctly) that the deal would eventually happen. And once Rios was placed on waivers, it was highly suspected that the Sox had claimed him. Really. The Peavy-to-Sox trade came out of no where in the final 5 minutes of the trade deadline. Yeah after Rios was put on waivers, people (including myself), had a good idea it was the Sox who claimed him, but at that point he was already claimed, so it's not like Kenny claimed him after the media and Sox fans thought they should. He made the claim, THEN we speculated.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:16 PM) Ummmm, Jake Peavy and Alex Rios last year. But not talked actively about them going to the White Sox.

Adam Dunn would be nice, but I am a little leary of trading our top prospects for a 3-month rental.

So is Chris Sale alive? Can anyone confirm?

QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:17 PM) I do not see anything wrong with wearing a 20k path on your arm during your 20,000 game. Ties Due to Wrigley refusing to install lights until like the 70s?

Paging Chris Sale.....

Well that was a completely momentum changing pitch on that bad strike call. Oh well, it was nice to make it that close, not that disappointed because of how we finished.. -

HoT FiRe is alive! -
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) If he was coming out of the bullpen, I think he would have already made 1 or 2 appearances. Plus, W-S is shorthanded on starting pitchers. Their Monday starter is still TBA. With Drew O'Neil and Josh Phegley being added to the roster, that gives them 25 active players. I'm not sure who else but Sale would be in line to start Monday. Possibly Leroy Hunt, he hasn't pitched in two weeks. Of course it could be a 3 inning start perhaps if it's Sale, with Hunt piggy backing him for 3 or 4 innings, or vice versa. I don't ever buy a plan for a player laid out by the organization. I'm still waiting for Retherford to catch and play all over the field. Which is exactly why I asked.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 11:39 AM) My cousin and I noticed that the Cubs had "20,000" on their sleeves, but we didn't know what it meant. We asked a friend of ours who's a Cubs fan and apparently it's because they're the first team to play 20,000 games. How sad is it that that's the one thing they're proud of at this point? I know we all hate the Cubs and mock them whenever possible, but it really can't be emphasized enough how pathetic that franchise is. Yeah but Fox showed the Cubs alltime Win-Loss record, and the totaled something like 19,870. I was slightly confused.
