  1. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Not that I would mind Rios playing everyday, but isn't he our only other option for CF? Having to resort to Kotsay in the OF would be an absolute pukefest.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:11 PM) Can't we just release Andruw Jones? There's absolutely no point to keeping him on the roster anymore. Except for being an great defender, and has the ability to get hot and slam HR w/ the best of them. Other than that, yeah, he sucks as a 4th OF/bench player.
  3. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:09 PM) Talk about rock solid evidence. Basically. So who wants to go to Vegas?
  4. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:04 PM) If your predicting powers are as good as your nickname giving powers, I have zero faith in you making them do anything "Quentin isn't going to f*** around here, he is taking Huddy deep" *Quentin hits a HR to RF* "Time for Quentin's 2nd blast tonight. He is going over the bullpen on this one." My friend - "Our bullpen, or theirs?". Me - "Ours. This is going to be a blast, and a pull shot" *Quentin blasts a HR over the Sox bullpen* Soo...yeah....EAT IT!
  5. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Ha! What is holding you back? I don't have that feeling that he will blast one out.
  6. Muscle up here Quentin. I was at yesterday's game and predicted BOTH his HRs. I'm just saying, if I wanted to, I could make him hit a HR right here...
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:54 PM) When was the last time we won 8 in a row? I remember back in the day (2005 and such) that 8 was always our limit. I think we had 3-4 8 win stretches then. Let's make it 9! 2008. Last time we won 9 straight was April of '06.
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:39 PM) When you're probably the best CFer ever, you have the privilege of making things look easy. I don't have a problem w/ it, I just think it's kinda funny how he seems so bored catching fly balls.
  9. QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) I hate listening to that guy, he tells the same damn story every time hes on Call it before he tells it then.
  10. Andruw Jones is probably the most nonchalant outfielder I have ever seen.
  11. Last 14 starts from the rotation..... Total: 99 2/3 IP, 77 H, 24 ER, 23 BB, 75 K, 2.17 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 3.26 K/BB Sox are 12-2 over the stretch.
  12. Yeah, it's free streaming on ESPN3.com http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=6385
  13. Alexei is in the lineup tonight. Looks like I won't see Dayan.
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 01:15 PM) Still awesome but this is continuation from a suspended match last night. Tired, but not as tired as I thought at first. I remember Sampras puking between points. They have still been going at it for over 5 hours straight today. And it's tied at 44 now. Jeeeeesus.
  15. It's on ESPN right now. They play first to 6 in a set, and you must win by 2..... They are currently tied at 41-41! They said it's the equivalent to a 60 inning baseball game. They have been playing for over 7 1/2 hours, over 2 days. http://espn.go.com/espn3/player?id=6385
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 12:26 PM) I don't know why his defense has been deemed bad by UZR so far. At this point last year, he was the leader in UZR at 1B. It's weird how UZR swings with sample size. Quentin is straight up bad in RF. That's why he needs to heat up with the bat to be at least a semi-valuable player. And to add to what I said up there, we have very good defenders at all the key defensive positions (CF, SS, 2B, 3B). I was told that UZR does not work with 1B because it doesn't account for a 1B ability to scoop balls, and most of the balls that a 1B can not stretch for goes as an error on the thrower, not the 1B.
  17. I had a weird dream that said Jenks was selected for the All-Star team...... ??? Obviously he won't be, but I thought that was weird to have a dream about....
  18. QUOTE (CSF @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) Jon Gilmore won the Carolina/California League HR Derby: Rich Poythress. That's the guy that batted behind Gordon Beckham at Georgia, right? He either played with Becks at Georgia, or Mitchell at LSU.....
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) Yes. I made a comment during the Washington series that he was playing a fabulous SS. And that was without looking at UZR (obviously UZR backs it up). I still think Elvis Andrus is or will be the best defensive SS in the AL in the long run. But Alexei has been better than anybody to this point (and of course Jeter is probably the gold glove favorite). Obviously.
  20. Last 13 starts from the rotation..... Total: 93 2/3 IP, 68 H, 22 ER, 22 BB, 71 K, 2.11 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, 3.23 K/BB Sox are 11-2 over the stretch.
  21. S.O.A.B.....this MLB Gameday is faster than MLB.TV...... boooo!
