June 24, 201015 yr Well, we just won a series against a legitimate National League team. That's nice. 8 in a row, 12 of 13. Crazy to think that 2 weeks ago, this team was 9.5 out.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) THE FUSE IS LIT! Oh, you're on board now, eh? Big hat, no cattle.
June 24, 201015 yr Back end of the bullpen   That's all contingent on Bobby staying on track obviously.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:23 PM) Oh, you're on board now, eh? Big hat, no cattle. Naw, I just like sayin that even if we lose. I did say if we take 2/3 from the Braves I'll be "keeping an eye out" again especially since the Braves are a good NL team (thank you Hanson for only having one pitch yesterday too BTW!). Well... mission accomplished.

June 24, 201015 yr As far as I'm concerned, yesterday was Opening Day. It's a whole new season folks, and we're 2-0!

June 24, 201015 yr Just when I was thinking it was going to be a long wait until football starts the sox climb back in it. Pretty sweet.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) 2 games over .500 for the first time th is season! For the first time since August 23rd, 2009. We haven't been 4 over since August 5th of last year.
June 24, 201015 yr great pitching by all four guys tonight! cq came up huge. he has 43 rbis now with his low average
June 24, 201015 yr Baseball is indeed a strange sport. Who the hell are these guys? If this last week of crazy production by Carlos is the real deal then welcome to legitimate playoff discussion, White Sox.
June 24, 201015 yr First series loss by the Braves in 14 series, and the first time Hudson has given up more than 3 ERs all season.
June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:04 AM) Baseball is indeed a strange sport. Who the hell are these guys? If this last week of crazy production by Carlos is the real deal then welcome to legitimate playoff discussion, White Sox. Big point in the bold, I think the potential ressurection of Carlos Quentin is the most exciting thing I've seen recently other than obviously the wins and pitching. We're going to need something like that (as well as Jenks pitching well) to continue if this team is going to be a legitimate contender. You are also right though that baseball is a strange sport, and wondering who the hell these guys are. I have never been more shocked at a stretch of play by the Sox, good or bad, than I am at the one the Sox have been on the last two weeks. Even with the weaker schedule, I don't think anybody could have seen this coming. It's a heck of a time though, and now at a couple games over break even and 3.5 out, this team is legitimately back in the race for now if nothing else. Hopefully this continues. I said this a million times back in March, and will say it again: The Sox's offensive production will be HEAVILY dependent on Quentin. If CQ puts up an .850 or higher OPS from here on out, we're back in business.

June 24, 201015 yr QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 12:17 AM) Q is 11 for his last 25... The trouble is; he had a 9 for 19 / 12 for 31 stretch in the middle of May. He's gotta keep this up for another week or 2 before I believe he's back, he's fooled me before and I don't want to get my heart broken again.
