  1. Boston is a good team. It's no surprise losing 2 of 3 to them.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 01:51 PM) - Watch DVR'd season of "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" - Take out trash every Wednesday morning - Monday night visits to local Shoney's - Arrange closet by colors, from darkest to lightest, for all pants, short-sleeved & long-sleeved shirts - Attempt to set clock on microwave -Watch VHS recorded copies of "According to Jim", recite dialog from memory
  3. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) Why these one batter saves for Santos? Either you trust the vato or notEspecially since you know Leland is just going to pinch hit for the righty, negating that advantage. I don't think Guillen costs us as much as some people do (this team just can't hit AT ALL), but he's not a good manager.
  4. I wonder if Guillen is surprised that the Tigers are walking Konerko after the sac bunt? I doubt anyone else is... Hopefully Dunn's getting back on track and he'll make them pay.
  5. If the Cardinals want to sell low on Rasmus that's fine with me. Even his current mediocre season is better than what we're getting from 2/3rds of our outfield (yes I know Pierre is hitting but he still doesn't walk, hit for any power, or steal bases). I'm guessing if Rasmus goes, it might be to try to keep LaRussa.
  6. For anyone complaining about the pitching, we've scored 1 run tonight, with like 3 hits, and 3 double plays. Pitching is not our problem.
  7. It is so hot that the heat index is over 100 degrees. This is a very dangerous situation and many old people will die.
  8. We have a shot at this division if we can score more than 2 or 3 runs a game. Even with offense down around the league, that's just not going to cut it.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 19, 2011 -> 09:24 AM) Best picture in history of universe
  10. Quentin pops out to the right side. What a surprise.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) Leadoff men only have guys on base in 36-37% of their plate apperances. Most of that comes from leading off the game (20% of your PAs to begin with), but having a power hitter there kind of wastes his ability to drive in runs with that power.Giving a guy on your team with lots of power the most at-bats is never a bad idea.
  12. Thanks! One more year until 30...
  13. I was curious if the Sox hitters were really as bad at pitch selection and recognition as it seems. I bet there's a way to see how many times a player swung at a ball out of the zone, but I have no idea how to find that. What I did find, though, was that the league average for pitches per plate appearance is 3.81. The Sox team average is 3.67. If you take Dunn and Konerko out of there, it's way worse -- our leadoff hitter is at 3.41 P/PA.
  14. Wow, Quentin looks really bad. I wonder what's going on with him?
  15. Unless there's some secondary trade that will bring us more offense, or we can get rid of Rios, we don't improve our team in this deal at all. Trading Quentin, especially for pitching, is a bad idea. I'm guessing this won't go anywhere.
  16. Dunn saw the balk as well. It was pretty clear-cut. I would've agreed if it was a Sox player as well.
  17. I agree with Peavy on this one. It's definitely a mindset they need to have. Coming to the park ready to kick some ass, and never giving up, is going to make comebacks easier. Saying "we'll get 'em tomorrow" puts you in a bad place mentally. I bet a lot of the flatness and boring baseball we see would go away.
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) Sox win ...........I say Sergio is not available on Saturday.............Dare I say .500 team after tomorrow?Let's just beat them by 15 or so. Give Santos a rest.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 03:59 PM) Ridiculous at bat. Oz is a moron for this late inning bunting. Killing our offensive mo jo. The sacrifice is a good call. The squeeze is eh. I don't like it, but I don't know if it's a bad call.
  20. If this team can develop any kind of consistent offense, it's going to be very, very dangerous in the second half.
  21. Bunting here is stupid, no matter the outcome.
  22. If Adam can hit a 200 mph fastball shot out of a cannon, 97 mph heat will be easy. /ALL IN
  23. The offense takes this loss for scoring 2 runs on 8 hits in 13 innings against mediocre NL pitching in a hitter's ballpark.
  24. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Problem is that he's had very inconsistent seasons including major, month long slumps that could kill an offense. He fits in here fine.
