  1. His son's name is Braden.
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) Game over. Sox loose 2-7 on a two-run shot by Deyan Viciedo. There's just so much wrong with this post.
  3. QUOTE (FranktheTank35 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 01:00 PM) I definitely do not want to see him switch positions. I want him to be a solid, productive shortstop for the next 5-6 years, so I guess that means letting Alexi play a year of short and go back to 2B or CF. How long do we have Alexi under contract for anyways? I can't remember. Alexei is under contract thru 2011, but I think he'd be arb eligible after the 2011 and 2012 seasons if they don't extend him before then.
  4. Allen Thomas, aka AT.
  5. If Beckham can play a solid SS, I hope he sticks there. This guy has a chance to be the complete package--productive hitter, team leader, good with the media and fans, and marketable. I don't want to see the Sox jack this guy around trying to find another position. They drafted him as a shortstop, and they should give him every opportunity to become the shortstop of the White Sox. Just my $0.02.
  6. QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) Melton's breathing really loudly. Yes. He's horrible. I don't even like him on CSN pre/postgame. You can tell he doesn't do his homework.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 02:20 PM) Anyone know how to find the MLB Gameday for the game? I saw in previous games, people said it was there, but not linked from the scoreboard. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...seamlb_chamlb_1
  8. Um Bill, His last name is Richard, not Richards.
  9. QUOTE (ChesterCopperpot @ Mar 2, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) Wow, any ideas why most of the starters are playing today? And who's pitching? First 'home" game at Camelback Ranch.
  10. Nice inning for Clayton.
  11. Looks like they have multiple cameras, so that's good.
  12. Webcast is on. I have a feeling these webcasts will only be that one camera angle from the press box. Could be wrong.
  13. Gordon Beckham is going to be a stud.
  14. QUOTE (tommy @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 04:19 PM) The game tomorrow against the Dodgers is on CSN. First game at the Ranch. Looking forward to seeing it...albeit on TV.
  15. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) Just FYI, preseason gamedays are very very inaccurate. sometimes they just throw three stirkes of any kind in there to denote a strikeout. Ah...gotcha.
  16. Lillibridge--3 pitches. Called strike Called strike Called strike It's like Swisher never left...
  17. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 12:54 PM) http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?g...chamlb_chnmlb_1 Just curious...where did you access the Gameday? When I go to the MLB scoreboard, I don't see Gameday there.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 28, 2009 -> 12:55 PM) Seeing a lot of Kroeger. Maybe he has an outside shot at the squad? I doubt it. I just think with spring training so long this year, they're not going to overwork Thome, Konerko, and Dye too much for the next couple weeks.
  19. QUOTE (Want2Repeat @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) Are there any reports on the B game out there, other than what Poreda did? Some notes here: http://scottmerkin.mlblogs.com/
  20. The Good German
  21. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Flowers is a ways away. True. I mean if he tears up AA, I don't think a September callup is out of the question. Also depends on the 40-man roster at that time, since he would need to be added.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) Next up to pitch, Don Cooper's newest reclamation project, Van Benschoten If this guy turns out for the Sox, they should have a Pitching Coach award named after Don Cooper.
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) i really think the 2nd base competition is going to be really tight all spring long...getz has the plate discipline, Lillibridge the Speed, Nix probably has the best power of the three and maybe the D.... I really believe that by the end of spring training, the Sox are going to still like all three players--Lillibridge, Getz, and Nix. If I had to guess what will happen, Lillibridge and Getz will both make the team, and both will get ample playing time. Vs. lefties, it'll probably be Anderson in CF and Lillibridge at 2B, and Brent will probably get a little more playing time at SS. If you remember last year, Alexei would get a little tired and go in mini-slumps. Liilbridge could probably start 50 games at 2B, and another 20-30 at SS. Nix? Might be a numbers game because he really only plays 2B. I think the Sox might do him a favor and try to move him to another organization.
  24. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 27, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) So it really sounds like they are planning on Viciedo starting in the minors when Ozzie is saying he will be here soon. He should go to the minors. He's 20. He's not a polished 3rd baseman, and he hasn't played enough of the other possible positions. Hopefully he has a nice season in Birmingham, and if he does well, comes up in September with Beckham and Flowers.
