No doubt, 2022 (after the strike), the DH will be universal. Then we’re one step closer to expansion and realignment with the Chicago teams in the same division. Once that happens, I might be done with team sports.

And they didn’t trade Sale for Moncada to just be ordinary. They need 3-4 quality starters, Eloy and Moncada to be stars...then they can supplement with really good free agents that actually want to be here.

When you look at the overall deal, I’m shocked the Nationals couldn’t have done something to keep him. He’s going to be booed in Washington forever.

It’s unnecessary for Hahn to do media about not signing Harper. It was all about Manny from the time they tried to trade for him. Harper was a huge long shot and the Sox probably have known it wasn’t happening for quite some time.

Machado was an epic fail. Harper wasn’t coming here no matter what.

Expecting this game won’t be on MLBN tonight now that the Harper deal is done. Might be extra talking head coverage.

The season starts four weeks from today, March 28. The 25-man roster should be finalized the day before but they'll usually know a few days before they leave Arizona. This year, they play a couple extra games in Arizona, so we might not know until the 26th.

I suggest the Player’s Association negotiate better and creative roster rules for the next CBA so the time a team brings up a prospect becomes less impactful on years of control. Until then, it’s common sense what the Sox are doing, and the players should only blame their own union if they have a problem with it.

But enough about Fernando Tatis...

It wouldn’t be the worst thing if Eloy bats .250 for a couple weeks, and they send him to minor league camp around March 12-15. It’s not like the Sox are short on outfielders with big league experience that are getting ready for the 28th.

Watched Paddleton last night on Netflix. Sad with some laughs. Good movie. Not great/not bad. Mark Duplass could play Bruce Bochy in a movie.

I really doubt Madrigal will be up this year. They just believe he will be the future 2B, so it’s a full year of Moncada playing third where wins aren’t the priority. Hopefully it pans out for everyone. I would expect Madrigal playing a full season at Birmingham with Vizquel, then maybe AFL, then start 2020 in Charlotte and get called up quickly.
