  1. NL Central, West, and Wildcard all with 0.5 game leads.
  2. And now the Padres are trailing...of course. 2-3 the last 5. Gotta lose tomorrow night.
  3. If they’re signing a veteran innings eater, I wouldn’t have any problem with him being that veteran. More than likely, it will be somebody else though. Maybe Shields goes back to California...probably four teams out there could use a guy that makes his starts and you don’t have to count on him to have an ERA under 5.
  4. The weakening storm is going through now, and fast. Not sure about 7:10, but they'll play.
  5. Here’s what I mean: Mia 64-97 - Sox 65-97 0.5 Add a loss to the Marlins record...they still finish ahead of the Sox. Sox 65-97 - Mia 65-96 0.5 Add a loss to the Marlins record...same record, but the Sox hold the tiebreaker...as do the Padres and Tigers over Miami.
  6. He was Hawk’s teammate. A Doc Edwards shot was a broken bat shank (or just a jam shot hit) that Edwards must have been known for in the 60s.
  7. I got nothing to add, but condolences. The real Doc Edwards passed away last month. Hawk was one of a kind. I hope he has a long, healthy retirement.
  8. 3. Sox 61-95 (Sox magic number) 4. Mia 62-94 (5) 5. SD 63-94 (4) 6. Det 63-93 (5)
  9. Marlins lost and Padres are up 3-0. Giants just had bases loaded but didn’t score.
  10. Madrigal will be there tonight. Hopefully he’s in the booth for an inning.
  11. Kluber going for his 20th win Moncada at 210. The record is 223.
  12. MLB hasn’t cancelled the Marlins-Pirates next Monday yet. Wonder if they’re still considering playing it. And how about this...Ivan Nova could possibly start that game which would earn him 750k for his 30th start.
  13. Yes, the Marlins don’t hold the tiebreaker with the Sox, Tigers, or Padres, so them not playing the last game can only help them, not hurt them. So adding a loss with your scenario doesn’t do anything to the order, but you can. But if it ends up Sox 62-100/ Marlins 61-100, Miami would have a lower winning percentage, and wouldn’t have to play to possibly get the win and knock them down the draft order. So assume the loss there, and they are 61-101.
  14. Plain and simple...hope the Sox lose 4, and everyone else wins 2. If that happens, 3rd pick.
  15. Sox- 3 vs Cle, 4 at Min SD- 3 at SF, 3 vs Arz Mia- 3 at Was, 3 at NYM, (1 at Pit) Det- 3 at Min, 3 at Mil
  16. Yep. Like I said, as soon as MLB cancels that game, just add a loss to the Marlins record, because it’s the same thing as not playing.
  17. I’ve jotted down the Sox draft position at the end of each Sunday since May 6th: 3rd 1st for 3 weeks 2nd 4th 3rd for 10 weeks 4th 6th 3rd 4th 3rd We’ve earned 3rd. Go 2-5 this week.
  18. He’ll show up to spring training with the expectation to make 33 starts and throw 200 innings. If he doesn’t, then we can worry.
  19. Padres are getting killed. So with one week left... 3. Sox 61-94 (Sox magic number) 4. SD 62-94 (6) 5. Mia 62-93 (6) 6. Det 63-93 (6)
  20. Good to great Hawk (1990’s) was my 20s. It’s been sad the last 7-8 years. I hope that’s not what he’s remembered for. I wish him well, and good bye.
  21. He said the same thing on his day three weeks ago. Guess nobody corrected him. Oh well, it’s over now.
