  1. Looking forward to seeing Luis Gonzalez play a little bit.
  2. Yes, DJ Peterson. Here's a better view...
  3. Ok. My main takeaway is that if the Sox are going to land a premium free agent in their current situation, there is no finessing their way to a deal. They needed to get in early and overpay to get their guy. There are just too many other better places to play right now. The Sox aren’t a desirable destination right now...so they needed to go harder. Oh well. It’s over now.
  4. But a more desirable location, better road destinations. He goes to the White Sox and their rebuild fails- he would absolutely be miserable playing in that park. If the Padres fail, he’s in a great place for five years and then he can leave.
  5. I know most will disagree, but I honestly think the Padres could have made the Sox offer, and the Sox could have made the Padres offer...and he still would have been a Padre. The position the Sox are in, they needed to get in early and hit the “Buy it Now” option to get this done.
  6. 10:30am Friday press conference on MLBN if you care to DVR
  7. Awful news. He was a class act whenever he was on MLB Network. RIP
  8. I'm glad they failed at getting that asshole. Yes, it's an organizational failure, but on the other hand, there's a better than 50/50 shot they would have regretted it in the future. The Sox need to develop pitchers, have Eloy be a superstar, and have Moncada and Anderson take steps forward at the plate. That would help make the Sox an attractive place to play for premium free agents. Until they can get that going on their own, players don't want to come to the Sox...and to a larger extent, the AL Central.
  9. They probably aren't going anywhere, but even if they did, a new city would probably want to re-brand them with a different name. Without the White Sox team name, I doubt fans would stick with their support.
  10. Left hand. Not right.
  11. Adam Jones can take that empty locker now.?
  12. I honestly feel like the AL Central is just not an attractive destination for the modern baseball player. MLB really needs to look at going to no divisions and a balanced schedule, and make Baseball a more national product. Machado will also be buried with Trout out west. Anyway, moving on. The rebuild continues. You can be mad all you want, but they have a lot of steps to make with or without a whale.
  13. Let's go. Front load 2019-2021...let him be sold on the White Sox rebuild before the possible strike in 2022. This thing is almost over. Once they're playing games next week, players will know it's go time. Agents can only do so much...players will start forcing the issue next week.
  14. Answer my own question...
  15. Yeah, he and Charley Lau (6) have kinda unofficial retired numbers. The Sox also don't assign #69--true story. Mark Salas leave the club? Evan Marshall took his 59.
  16. Looks like they did update their page this morning. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/roster/40-man/ Coaches page still needs updating, but Herrera is 41.
  17. Renteria is #36
  18. I would assume they are correct. Jay is 45. Hamilton, Frare, and a couple others changed. Herrera hasn’t worn 41 before. Tweet the Sox and ask them to update their roster pages.
  19. CBS Sports seems to have scooped whitesox.com. No NRI numbers yet, and they dropped Burr for some reason. Looks like a few guys upgraded from last year, https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/teams/CHW/chicago-white-sox/roster/
  20. Well this got interesting. Should have let Sale finish it.
  21. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?cid=&lid=119&org=&sc=&sid=milb&t=league&ymd=20181009 Game starts in 20 min
  22. Worst division ever ends 3 and out in the DS.
  23. Had the same thought. Cubs-Brewers definitely would have been a better series. That said, I’m happy how it turned out. On a separate note, I’m ready to see the balk rule redefined so it’s only for actually trying to fool the runner. Guy dropped the ball on the mound. That shouldn’t cost a run.
