  1. Looks like the storm will be more south by the weekend (Braves hosting Nats). The Sox/Orioles might have some Friday scattered showers, but they'll get three games in this weekend. Just a terrible storm, by the way. The rainfall amounts will be incredible.
  2. Do these stats go the other way too where it shows how many times ball 4 should have been strike 3? Or any ball called that should’ve been strike 3?
  3. That's another issue...would pitchers try to nip the outside corner with breaking pitches that are technically in the zone but the catcher receives it in a spot that would currently be called a ball? Again, I think the unintended consequences of the robo ump would drastically change the game for the worse. And not only would it change the game on the field...it's just less interesting. It's ok to be imperfect and have some nose-to-nose fights once in a while.
  4. With human error in play, hitters have to protect and swing more...and that's a good thing. If they go to an automated zone, the batter is going to swing less and guess more. Ok, walks may go up for some...but is that a good thing for the game? I don't think so. If walks are your thing, by all means, enjoy a more boring game.
  5. Definitely would like to see them get the 3rd pick. Unfortunately the peaks and valleys of the four teams from 3 to 6 might just have the Sox in a valley before a peak comes again. 62-100 would be nice. 64-98 would get iffy, I'm afraid.
  6. Hell no. The plate should swell within reason with two strikes. The unintended consequences of an automated strike zone would prove out to make the game less interesting and longer games...not shorter. Be careful what you wish for. Now if you want to get better umpires that know how to call balls and strikes better than others, I'm all for it. But the human factor of balls and strikes makes the game better. Replay is great for safe/out though.
  7. When I saw the dot, I was rooting to see Moncada ejected himself. I don’t know how he doesn’t lose it after a while.
  8. I’m asking would you want the White Sox to sweep the Cubs the final home weekend even if it meant falling from 3rd to 5th or 6th, and in the process prevent the Cubs from winning the division, but host the wildcard game?
  9. I asked this 4 weeks ago....seems a good time to ask again...5th or 6th instead of 3rd, and the Cubs fall to wildcard status. Do you take it?
  10. 19 games to get 3 homers and 22 ribbies. Tough sleddin’.
  11. Draft order through 142 games (after Game 142): Orioles 41-101 (0-1) Royals 47-95 White Sox 56-86 (0-1) Padres 56-86 (1-2) Marlins 56-86 Tigers 59-83 (0-1) Reds 60-82 (1-1) Rangers 61-81 (0-1) Blue Jays 64-78 (1-0) Mets 65-77 Twins 65-77 Braves get a comp pick at 9 for not signing their guy this year.
  12. In what way? Melky Cabrera, bringing in Canseco and Manny, other guys that have suspensions in the minors. What stands out with the Sox taking a hard line?
  13. I read that since it’s his second outright, he has the option of refusing.
  14. Danish outrighted to Charlotte. Pure speculation, but maybe Danish wants out if Scahill got called up before him.
  15. Trout came up with runners on 1st and 2nd. They moved up while he was batting and the count was 3-2. Now, could you still put him on? Sure.
  16. Marlins-Pirates got rained out today. It’s rescheduled for Oct. 1, but they’ll probably cancel it once the Pirates are eliminated. Half game could screw the Sox.
  17. Correct. All three teams are or were 56-86 with 20 left. Padres have started the final 20 at 0-2, thus 88 losses.
  18. White Sox, Padres, and Marlins all 56-86 with 20 games left. (Padres 0-2, 18 games left)
