He's a switch hitter, so that isn't good.

And when you’re a Sox fan, it rains shit.

Just waiting for the Dylan Cease injury news to come out so we can complete an absolutely dreadful last 6-7 months for the franchise.

Doesn't matter. He will have the surgery to remove the hook of the hamate and then it will heal up. The latest stats are that about 20% of all professio0nal players fracture it. There will not be any lasting effects. He'll be playing in April.

Merkin reported he won't start baseball activities for 12 weeks for whatever that's worth.

I thought Konerko dealt with issues when he had this?

He did. He had the hook removed as well.

He punch a wall too?

Damn, I had penciled in Basabe in right field in a couple of years.  Is there anyone on the market now we can get to play there ?

Nope. Just swinging a bat. It's impossible to fracture the hook punching a wall, unless you punch with your palm. You fracture a metacarpal when you punch a wall.

An article in the Tribune said he was going to be out 12 weeks. That is a really long time for this. If true that's really conservative.

He was referencing Carlos Quentin since it was reported that's how he broke his.

Didn't  Quentin break his hand slamming the bat with it, after striking out?

It had multiple reports on how he broke it. The one @HeHatesShe said was one of them.

Sorry everyone, I was referring to how I punched a wall today because of reasons, and wondered aloud if Basabe had done the same hearing the Machado news.
