QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 09:47 PM) Duke just gives up runs. He'll get two outs, and then give it up.

Johnson, Montas, Brantly, & Leury Garcia recalled.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 12:34 PM) I'd add Webb and Montas, and drop Carroll, for my prediction. Webb was added the other day. Putnam on the DL. Brad Penny is still my longshot, but I really don't care.

So it's Sale, Rodon, and Samardzija in Minnesota. I thought Johnson was getting in there right away, but not to be. Jeff better be good Thursday afternoon. He's got to finish strong for everyone's sake. Here is the transaction page to follow the callups around the league: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/transactions/?tcid=...9&year=2015 34 days of expanded rosters...terrible rule in baseball.

Joe Jackson reinstatement request denied
QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 10:37 AM) Honestly I find this stuff kind of tired. Me too. I find it funny when a fan today gets emotional about Joe Jackson or Buck Weaver. Gambling was rampant before 1920. They finally did something about it after the 1919 World Series. That was the final straw, and the game has been better for it since.

Wild Card Watch 2015
Don't look now, but the Indians won 6 in a row and are 64-66, with 32 left. If they can grab another win in Toronto, and the Rangers fall back, they are very much in it. It would be a punch to the gut if a cluster of teams end up 83-79 or 82-80 for the 2nd wc and the Sox aren't one of them. http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings/_/view/wi...rd/group/league A good starting point for the Sox to get hope back would be to go into Minnesota and win three games. Do it.

8/30 Sox vs. Mariners Game Thread
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Agreed. Another top 5-10 pick would be essential for this organization as well as drafting well during and afterwards. 5 games behind Oakland for the 7th pick. That would be the absolute best since the bottom 6 in the NL will be losing 90+.

I actually would say the Sox haven't mailed it in. They just suck.

Sounds like Erik Johnson will get a start in Minnesota, and Shark and Danks are swapping spots. Johnson is supposed to start tonight, so we'll see.

Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 11:50 PM) Don't have to "root" for fifth in division. Those losses will take care of themselves. Sox aren't going to suddenly play well in divisional games the final four weeks. I think they could go 7-15 in the division games and 2-6 vs the Yankees and A's. Where would that put them closing out the season 9-21? Since I told you they have 25 division games, and 34 overall, I have no idea what you're talking about. Which I guess isn't a surprise.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 11:08 PM) Where do the Sox rank if you pencil in a minimum of 1-5 in the final six versus KC? Sox figure to go 0-6 or 1-5 vs KC. I think we have the worst team in the league to tell you the truth and it will probably come to fruition with our record in September. 10-15 in the final 25 division games. 4-4 against the Yankees and A's. Win tomorrow. 75-87. 9th pick.

September Call-Up Predictions
The Johnsons, Leury, Carroll, Webb off the DL, Brantly probably over Smith as a third catcher. I mentioned this before , but maybe they bring Brad Penny in as a nod....maybe he can give some knowledge...I know Rodon liked being around him. The full season teams end on September 7th. I kinda hope they wait until then. Baseball needs to address the roster rules for the last month of the season. They're completely antiquated in the 2nd wildcard era.

8/28 Games
QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 06:43 PM) 52 pitches in the first inning though... ouch That's a game score, not a pitch count. Don't ask me what a game score means though.
