  1. It would be great if Reinsdorf lets him interview there. I don't even think he let him do that last winter. If next year ends up with no Kenny and Buddy, and a new coaching staff, I'd say that would be a huge change that needed to happen.
  2. 11-11 in 22 starts. 11 quality starts. His bad is awful. Still not a bad 5th starter. Just have to accept he's overpaid for who he is.
  3. Eh, I'd kinda like to see Trout play in the postseason.
  4. President of Baseball Operations of Boston Red Sox Ben Cherington has resigned.
  5. Johnson 7 innings, 1 solo homer, 1 walk, 6 k's
  6. Thompson batting 5th. Sox https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/633408383169642496 Angels https://twitter.com/AnaheimSports1/status/633404393686110212
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) Doing it in Rookie Ball is iffy though. If he was a top prospect in AA or AAA, it might be a more positive impact. Gay male pro athletes need a top guy as an example. Not just borderline guys like Denson, Bean, Burke, Collins, Amaechi, and Sam. I don't know about that anymore. Things have changed a lot in the last 5-10 years. We have a new generation of young people who I think are a lot more open to this. It's almost shrugworthy at this point, which is good.
  8. QUOTE (daggins @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) He is tied for the AL lead in WAR with 20 less innings than Kluber. He leads the majors in K's. He is having the best season of his young, stellar career so far. He has a very good shot at the Cy Young. I'll revise it...if the Sox make the playoffs and he's stellar down the stretch, yes, ok, he has a shot. Keuchel, Gray, and Price are having better seasons though.
  9. QUOTE (kapzk @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:40 AM) Very good shot at winning the Cy Young however Gray and Keuchel are probably ahead. I honestly think Sale would probably say he's having a bad season. He hasn't been a perfect pitcher this season. He's had too many bad starts. And he has no shot at winning the Cy this year. Great pitcher though. Just not his year for that award.
  10. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 09:48 AM) Lol, this made me laugh so much. We take 3 out of 4, or sweep them, we're right back in it I'm looking at it as the Sox need back-to-back weeks of 5-2. 10-4 the next 14, or I don't think they have much chance to go better than 19-14 when it's back to a heavy division schedule the last 5 weeks of the season.
  11. Cool... https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/632700334926725120
  12. If they were over .500, it would be sleep deprivation week. Now it's check the score when you take a piss at 3am week.
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 08:53 AM) We always kill any momentum we get. That's been a huge issue. I'm ready for the offseason. This team just needs to get to about 80 wins. Keep showing improvement. No offense, but anything short of the postseason is a disappointment. There's no moral victory in just having a higher win total than last year.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 2, 2015 -> 07:28 PM) Next 4 series: LAA 55-49, 3 vs Cle, 3 vs Bal, 3 at Sox, 4 at KC Min 54-50, 4 at Tor, 3 at Cle, 3 vs Tex, 3 vs Cle Bal 53-51, 3 at Oak, 3 at LAA, 3 at Sea, 4 vs Oak Tor 54-52, 4 vs Min, 3 at NY, 3 vs Oak, 3 vs NY TB 52-54, 3 at Sox, 3 vs NYM, 2 vs Atl, 3 at Tex Tex 51-53, 3 vs Hou, 3 at Sea, 3 at Min, 3 vs TB Det 51-54, 3 vs KC, 3 vs Bos, 3 at KC, 3 at Hou Sox 50-53, 3 vs TB, 3 at KC, 3 vs LAA, 3 vs Cubs A 9-3 run wouldn't hurt right about now. Sox need to win games, Twins to fall apart, and the Orioles to have a bad west coast trip the next two weeks. Instead of 9-3, the Sox went 5-7. Here's what everyone else did the last two weeks (in bold), and what's coming up the next two weeks: Tor 65-54 (11-2) - 2 at Phi, 3 at LAA, 3 at Tex, 3 vs Det Bal 61-56 (8-5) - 2 vs NYM, 4 vs Min, 4 at KC, 3 at Tex LAA 60-57 (5-8) - 4 vs Chi, 3 vs Tor, 3 at Det, 3 at Cle Tex 59-57 (8-4) - 3 vs Sea, 4 at Det, 3 vs Tor, 3 vs Bal Min 59-58 (5-8) - 3 at NY, 4 at Bal, 3 at TB, 3 vs Hou TB 58-59 (6-5) - 4 at Hou, 3 at Oak, 3 vs Min, 3 vs KC Det 56-61 (5-7) - 2 at Cubs, 4 vs Tex, 1 at Cin, 3 vs LAA, 3 at Tor Sox 55-60 (5-7) - 4 at LAA, 3 at Sea, 3 vs Bos, 4 vs Sea Orioles with the second wildcard spot, on pace for 84 wins (or 85 if you round up).
  15. Drew Stubbs DFA. You know Hawk wants him.

  17. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) You play every team in your division the same amount of times (19), as does every team in the division. So you continue to be clueless. Regardless, the unbalanced schedule is a travesty. So is divisional play.
  18. QUOTE (shysocks @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 11:30 AM) I can't explain it, but John Danks starting + me in attendance = Sox victory this year. Every time. This will be the 5th. Also hoping Scioscia has the tact to get Gillaspie into the game so we can give him the standing O he deserves. Yikes, I hope you're kidding. He's batting 8th tonight.
  19. If the Sox aren't helping themselves, they're definitely helping out the rest, like the Rangers and Orioles. The more the Sox beat the Angels, the lower the number for the second wildcard could be. It would really be annoying (as a Sox fan) if a few teams land on 84-78, and the Sox just miss out by 3 or 4 games. It would be fun as a baseball fan the final week of the season though.
  20. Sox need to go 17-7 the next 24. So there.
  21. All 15 home teams won last night. First time that's happened in the 17+ seasons of 30 teams. http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/13421684...cord-going-15-0
  22. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) This team is f***ing annoying. Uh huh.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) Hating Detroit is one thing. Watching all of Detroit's games as a part of that? Yeah, I can't get with that. Never have, never will. Now that I can understand. Actively watching games only to root against one team everyday is a waste of time. Wait til the playoffs if that's your motive.
  24. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 12:42 PM) This thread should be closed, unless people are interested in watching other teams battle it out for the wild card spots. Or move it to the MLB section.
  25. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 12:18 PM) I can't imagine intensely following something I hate. Honestly it has more to say about the person, then anything else. Than. Personally, I'm in my 40's. When I was in my 20's and 30's, especially pre-2005, yeah, rooting against the Cubs was more of a thing. I think for the younger fan, it's something you do because you're hearing crap from friends and you want the Cubs to lose to shut other people up. Then you get older, get tired of that sort of dialog, and you just root for your team, the White Sox. So, while I don't give a crap if the Cubs win or lose, I can understand why a younger fan openly roots against them.
