  1. Buehrle looks like he's on his way to another win. Blue Jays have a decent shot to pass the Yankees with 13 head-to-head left.
  2. This really is a must-win tonight, if you think the Sox have any hope. This Bryan Mitchell is their Scott Carroll/Dylan Axelrod type.
  3. Mitchell vs Danks 6-2 the next 8, or die.
  4. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 09:57 AM) Danny Valencia just got DFA'd, he is slashing .296/.331/.506 in 50 something games and can play OF and 3B. That would be a great bat to add. You just beat me to it.

    Rick Hahn

    Hahn's boss will be on the Score in a little bit.
  6. Couple bad days for the Sox. Too bad Sale couldn't finish off the road trip. At this point (after the trade deadline), until you get over .500, you're not a contender.
  7. Anyone wish the Sox went 3-5 on that trip instead of 7-1?
  8. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) Good. Sell please. Or stand pat, and hope.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) anthony fenech ‏@anthonyfenech 1m1 minute ago Yoenis Cespedes is in the Tigers' lineup posted in the clubhouse. Rajai Davis is, too. Victorino was in the posted Red Sox lineup on Monday.
  10. Wow, the Score got faked. When I saw that tweet was from 16 minutes ago, I figured someone got duped.
  11. Remaining records in order to win 85 games: LAA 30-31 Min 32-29 Bal 34-27 Tor 33-26 TB 34-25 Det 35-25 Sox 36-26 Who's getting in? What's the second wildcard win total?
  12. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 01:05 PM) Nothing is going to happen. I'm hoping for that outcome. We'll see.
  13. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 12:32 PM) When the Sox play the cubs in August wasn't one team going to wear banks number and the other Minnine's? Hopefully Sox change and have the pitchers wear Pierce's number. The Cubs wore 14 for the last game at Wrigley. The Sox are wearing 9 for the August 14 game. I like your idea, but I doubt they change anything.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 08:58 AM) I want .500 and I want it now. Yes, and I want 5-2 the next seven just as much.
  15. Twins are the first AL team done with interleague play. They went 8-12. 44-36 against AL teams, 21-14 against the AL East and West. .600 ball outside the division isn't going to last. Remaining Twins schedule outside the division, 30 games: 4 vs Sea 4 at Tor 3 vs Tex 3 at NY 4 at Bal 3 at TB 3 vs Hou 3 at Hou 3 vs LAA If the Twins finish over .500, I'll be surprised. The road trip to NY, Bal, and TB will be their big test.
  16. Every AL team has played at least 100 except the Sox... 100-game records... KC 61-39 NY 57-43 Hou 55-45 LAA 55-45 Min 52-48 -- Bal 51-49 Tor 50-50 Sox 50-50 or 49-51 TB 49-51 Det 48-52 Tex 48-52 Cle 46-54 Sea 46-54 Bos 44-56 Oak 44-56 I'm going to assume the worst team after 100 games has never been as high as 44-56 before.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) I'm already preparing myself for the overreaction the next time we lose. We've become too accustomed to winning and expecting to move up in the standings. The thing going against the Sox is that they're red hot now...and then they have to be the best team of the bunch the final 62 games too. It would be a great thing if they can get these last two games, and then have a solid 4-2 vs Yankees and Rays. Then, we're in business. Damn trade deadline is too early.
  18. White Sox, Phillies, Braves trifecta tonight would be just swell.
  19. There's a a reason why they call him Boni and not Bona.
  20. Betts on the concussion list. He looked woozy walking off. It almost looked like he wanted to go over fence rather than brace himself.
  21. Twins threatening, but a big strike out with the bases loaded. 2 out in the 7th. 8-3 Pirates.
