  1. There are so few scheduled off days, that they won't be skipping guys. Eventually there will be rain out, and you know who they'll skip? Paulino. By the time they get to the break, Paulino will have the fewest starts, even if he stays off the DL. Truthfully, I think the initial order has more to do with keeping Sale and Danks out of the batters box in Colorado.
  2. Even though I said 74 wins, this team has the potential to be a surprise team. Abreu would have to be a monster and Paulino and Johnson would have to over perform. Could it happen? Sure. I'm interested to see how they get out of the gate against good teams. Sometimes it's good to play the good teams early before they find their groove. Go 16-11 the first 27, and we may have something.
  3. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 18, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Royals using Ventura 3rd in the rotation means the Sox will probably miss him the first weekend. Quintana vs Guthrie for the Royals home opener Johnson vs Chen Sale vs Shields (seen that before) So Erik Johnson gets opening day in KC, then Danks and Sale.
  4. Danks and Sale won't have to bat in Colorado if this holds.
  5. Rotation set: https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN/status/448536475328454657 Hmm.
  6. 74-88 AL Central (34-42): Cle 7-12; Det 8-11; KC 8-11; Min 11-8 AL East (15-19): Bal 3-3; Bos 2-5; NY 3-4; TB 4-3; Tor 3-4 AL West (16-16): Hou 4-2; LAA 3-3; Oak 3-4; Sea 5-2; Tex 1-5 NL (9-11): Cubs 2-2; SF 1-3; Ari 1-2; SD 3-0; Col 2-1; LA 0-3
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 25, 2014 -> 11:00 AM) We see a RHP 60% of the time. With that logic, Nieto and De Aza are our regulars. As far as starting pitching, the Sox faced righties 76.5% of the time last year. Smyly, Vargas, and Chen are the only lefties in the division starting out.
  8. Eaton 8, Garcia 9, Gillaspie 5, Abreu 3, Dunn DH, Viciedo 7, Ramirez 6, Flowers 2, Semien 4. Sale 1. Interesting lineup today considering it's all of the regulars if Beckham starts on the DL. Maybe this is what Robin is going with for OD. I'd rather see Semien in the 2-hole, and Gillaspie at 7 or 8.
  9. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 05:52 PM) He's a lost cause at the plate. He'll be lucky if he ever turns it around to be a .230-.240 hitter. I can't see him turning it around that much to be a productive player when he gets older, 20 yr. old or not. Something better click during this season, or he's a bust. I don't know what he can do when it comes to pitch recognition. It would seem you either have that skill or you don't. Wish him luck. Seems like a good guy.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 05:42 PM) Pretty sure Hawkins is now 0-6 with 5 K this ST Correct. Hope he saved most of his signing money. Must be nice getting a couple million for being able to swing a bat fast and hitting high school pitching.
  11. They'll use 14-17 guys out of the pen this year. Between injuries, guys sucking, and trades, it'll be a revolving door.
  12. 2015 opening day infield-- Davidson, Semien, Johnson, Abreu. Just have to be patient.
  13. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 01:39 PM) As fathom stated regarding the Paddy and NMolina situation, if Keppinger is Hahn's biggest gaffe, I can (more than) live with that. That was me. Easy mistake.
  14. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 11:44 AM) so apparently no one is worried about Q's spring training numbers...? i think it's a good signing, but i hope Hahn didn't jump the gun a year early on this one. Apparently his release point was off, and Coop caught it. Quintana faced the minimum yesterday in 5 innings. I think he'll be ok.
  15. And think about what the Yankees gave up. How are Banuelos and Betances doing? Baseball is strange game.
  16. QUOTE (chisoxfan310 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 11:34 AM) No that would be the pitchers. Under "left handed", it only lists Tekotte and Johnson. Probably just a off day for both. Maybe we're looking at two different things. Yes, they're both off today.
  17. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 11:27 AM) I don't see Eaton on the line up card at all. See the names at the bottom? He's probably there, but it's cut off. Same with Dunn.
  18. Sox lineup https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/4481319...5239809/photo/1 M's lineup https://twitter.com/JesseSanchezMLB/status/...4799744/photo/1
  19. Nice deal. He needs a new number. That #62 just ain't cutting it if he's he's here for the long haul.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 24, 2014 -> 09:23 AM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 5m astros open to acquiring a 1B via trade. for now they have krauss/guzman possible platoon. dh chris carter also 1b option. Let's trade Dunn to the Astros If there is one team that he's a good fit for right now, the Astros are it. He gets to play at home, and the fans get to see some homers. But the money....it's always the money.
  21. I don't know about you, but nothing gets me more excited about opening day being a week away than a picture of Jeff Keppinger. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/4481010...4024448/photo/1

Remember this now, but it's supposed to be in the 60's all three days in Denver in two weeks when the Sox are there. Next Monday in Chicago- a couple of showers, high 58. Wed- 53, Thursday-43
  23. I wonder if they moved on Jordan Danks early just to show other teams they'll keep De Aza unless they get what they want in a trade right now. Maybe they're trying to force some team's hands in the next week. Anyway, it's an interesting roster. It's going to be fun to see who will be here August 1st...and who won't.
  24. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 23, 2014 -> 11:29 AM) At this point, I would go with Jones, Belisario, Lindstrom, Downs, Veal, Cleto, and Webb. Let Petricka close at Charlotte. Yep, that's the bullpen. Apparently there won't be a true long reliever to start the season. I think the average team used 24 pitchers last season, so stuff always happens.
  25. https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/44739...9554304/photo/1 The game vs Giants is on CSN at 3. Abreu has been scratched. Dan Black will start. Hope that ankle is ok.
