LAA 38-43 You can make a case that the Astros and Marlins have overachieved. And the Angels and Dodgers? Well, money doesn't buy championships.

  3. Danny Hayes 2-4, double in his pro debut
  4. ...and this season is half O-VAH. We got another 33-48 in us.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:07 PM) Says? Just speculating who would come up if Troncoso went down. Not much to choose from.
  6. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) Is Beckham legit? It's like a no-hitter. You don't talk about it.
  7. Zach Stewart may return, which is perfect for the 2013 season.
  8. The Sox have had 43 quality starts this season. If they lose this game, their record in those 43 games would be 23-20. That is ridiculously bad.
  9. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 08:18 PM) Fantastic start by Hector, which we will undoubtedly waste. Naturally. Santiago- 10 starts. 5 quality. 56.1 Innings, 3.36 ERA Not bad.
  10. QUOTE (baseball17 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 08:00 PM) Wasn't the 40 man filled this morning with the call up of Purcey? So, Johnson couldn't have been called up because there was no open roster spot.. right? Correct, but by next Monday Purcey could be DFA'd, or some other move could be made with the 40-man (maybe Jhan Marinez). Johnson wouldn't be added officially until he has to.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 07:51 PM) or maybe they'll have him pitch next Monday against the Cubs and try to schedule Santiago/Q/Sale to face the Tigers? Good call. They usually like to ease their way into the break with the starters to maximize rest.
  12. I'm going to make a bold prediction---he got through 3 just to get his work in, and they're going to bring him up and move to a 6-man for a while.
  13. Wow, that's interesting.
  14. You didn't think he'd go the whole series without a homer, did you?

  16. Micah Johnson has been promoted to Winston-Salem.
  17. Could the Sox get more if they tell teams Peavy and Crain are a package deal? If you want one, you have to take both...and then get a better prospect instead of weak prospects in separate deals. (that is if they both are healthy pitchers around July 25th)
  18. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 04:02 PM) Anyone think this is the White Sox shutting him down in order to keep him from being injured until they can trade him? Yeah, I think it's probably a slight discomfort and they don't want to take any chances. In the process, he gets to rest his arm. So he comes back after the break, makes 2-3 appearances, shows he's ok, and gets traded.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 03:55 PM) Against DET from 2010-2012, he's had a 4.15 ERA and two blown saves in two opportunities. You really took the time to look that up?
  20. Man, we're really going to miss Crain for that Tigers series. Hawk told me the Sox can back in this thing.
  21. I'm still optimistic Peavy and Crain can come off the DL after the break, and still be traded for some value. Maybe not top talent, but something useful.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 3, 2013 -> 03:04 PM) Maybe Crain can come back July 15, have a couple solid outings and recoup some trade value before the deadline. Or July 19 when there are games again.
  23. Apparently David Purcey is listed on the lineup card today as a reliever. Crain going on the DL?
