  1. Dodgers is probably the better guess for next year. Not a bad year for Peavy... 31 starts 22 quality starts, which is very good 15-16 when he started 14-8 when he had a quality start. Should have been better. 1-8 when he didn't have a QS. No luck.
  2. Good luck with the Braves next year.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:10 PM) I have never seen "they" (them) do that, and I see no reason to do so now. If anything, he wants to prove he has the strength to keep going. So I highly doubt they sit him. They may site Sale and Quintana though. Buehrle used to do that. 30 starts/10 wins/200 innings...he sat. If the Sox are out of it on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be a lot of Axelrod, Humber, Marinez, Heath, Septimo, Omogrosso. Maybe....maybe Peavy goes out for a few innings just for the start, but I doubt it.
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) Why? What reason do the Sox have to sit him? I see none. Sale or Quintana, sure, that is different. Because he's a veteran, over 200 innings, a free agent, and the season is over. That's just what they do.
  5. If the Tigers go 3-3, they will have played the final 81 games at 48-33. They're a good team, with bad defense. If the ball is hit right at them in the postseason, they have just as good of a chance to win the World Series as any other team.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) He will get at least one more start. If the Sox get eliminated Sunday or Monday, I highly doubt Peavy starts Tuesday. Deunte Heath has a better chance to start that game.
  7. Peavy's last game with the Sox tonight? Could be.
  8. Final 54 games: Sox 22-25, 7 left Det 26-22, 6 left
  9. This could end up being under 2 hours. I'm not playing the "KC sucks/Help us" card, but do teams hate the Sox because of AJ and Hawk, and would love nothing more than to see us lose?
  10. I'm just speaking for myself here, but that Rally Crede thing is the dumbest f***ing thing I've seen here.
  11. ^ I feel ok about already updating it. Who changed it from 91 to 90? Tigers go 4-2 the last two series. 88 wins. Playoffs.
  12. Hey maybe Konerko can get his average up to .300 before Monday, and we get eliminated, so he can sit the final series again.
  13. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 12:19 PM) We're 1 GB this team will either win the next 7 or collapse completely IMHO. I could see the Sox lose 3 of 4, and the Tigers offense their way to four more wins in a row, and the Sox go to Cleveland already eliminated.
  14. You know, I think if we really put our minds to it, we can get eliminated by Sunday afternoon.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 27, 2012 -> 10:55 AM) What do we know about Rick Hahn that makes us so sure he'd do this thing or that thing? Everyone keeps hoping that Hahn will "finally bring in a good player" and s*** like this. What do you think KW does? He f***ing does s***. He makes splashes. A true change in GM would be someone that is decidedly less aggressive and would instead be more effective at developing homegrown talent. That may or may not be an improvement, but I can't imagine a fan getting excited about their team getting real conservative I just want to see good baseball moves. They don't make the playoffs or draw fans anyway, so make good baseball decisions that don't bury you for 3-4 years at a time, and start developing your own talent. They can sign veteran pitchers to 1-2 year deals that have just as much chance to catch lightning in a bottle, and hopefully at the same time they have guys coming up in the next couple years that will be better and cheaper, so you can go out and make a big free agent splash or trade when the time is right.
  16. Is Liriano a free agent or just a non-tender candidate?
