AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!
Great win! Let's have Quintana beat the rookie tomorrow, and 3 out of 4 or a sweep looks possible. Could go a long way to win the division.

QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 08:49 PM) Petition to change the Hawk "HE GONE" to "HELL YES" I knew he was going to say "hell yes" on that one.

A surprise 9th inning, indeed. Got to close this one out now. No excuses.

How about a surprise 9th inning for once.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Screw Sale pitching in the ASG. Much rather he pitch next Sunday, and then give him the days off Long run, I don't think his number of starts changes. I'm indifferent.

Maybe you move Axelrod up to Tuesday and let Sale pitch in the All-Star Game. For Sale, it's either get 2 starts before the before the break, and be at the back of the rotation after the break, or he gets an inning in KC and they start him Saturday or Sunday after the break.

Septimo gets the call
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 12:33 PM) I love it. Where was this first reported though? I have not seen it anywhere. The Sox beat writers are horrible. I think Tdog has a guy...or is the guy. The way they've used Septimo this year has been unusual. One inning, 3 or 4 days off, one inning, 2 or 3 days off. Not very Loogy like. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?s...&pid=465015

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 09:20 PM) I saw the catch earlier. 4 more hits tonight as well. This guy went 25th overall. I don't believe he fell because of signability issue. Some heads need to roll for lettin' this kid get away. I guess he's from a rural part of New Jersey, and his senior year it rained a lot, so scouts didn't get to see enough of him. Crazy.

The Next Four
QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) I remember when he swept the Yankees in the Bronx in 2000. Gotta love that one game where we scored 17 runs, 12 in the first two innings. I remember I went golfing that day, got in the car to find out the Sox were up 12-0, and knew they were going to run off 7 straight against Cleveland and New York on the road. That was the defining momemt of the regular season.

EJAX trade re-visited
QUOTE (ChrisLikesBaseball @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) While we're on the subject of hindsight.. Lucas Harrell just threw a CG shutout.. Padres. That's like Zach Stewart throwing a 1-hitter against a September Twins team. Actually, Harrell has done pretty well for himself.

The Next Four
Nova hasn't been very good at home this season. If the Sox can bring out the lumber tomorrow night, I think 3 out of 4 is possible.

Who replaces Ohman?
Omogrosso just got in the Charlotte game.

Who replaces Ohman?
The way they use Septimo is very weird. It's like one inning every 3-4 days. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?p...&pid=465015 I'll go with Deunte Heath.

EJAX trade re-visited
QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 04:40 PM) Once Holmberg makes AA he's potentially a jump away from being in the Majors. Holmberg's MiLB peripherals s*** on Quintana's or Santiago's. And Holmberg is only 20. It's safe to say he has a fairly high ceiling compared to those other two. The Huddy/Holmberg and Gio trades make me cringe every time I think about them. He was promoted to AA a couple weeks ago.

2012 AL Central Catch-All thread
QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 09:19 AM) If the Indians are for real, we're about to find out. 3 at NY 4 at Bal 3 vs LAA 4 vs TB 3 at Tor 4 at TB 4 vs Bal 3 vs Det 3 at Min 3 at KC 3 at Det If they can play these 37 games at 19-18, I'll give them credit. Wouldn't be surprised if they go 14-23. Off to an 0-3 start. Hopefully the Sox keep winning. We really don't want to be a 1st place club with a losing record.

6/27/2012 GT: Sox vs Twinks
QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 02:54 PM) Imagine if this was a 1 run game instead of a blow out. Do you trust anybody in our pen? I don't. Can't disagree with you. But I can't say they're much different than any other team.

1/3 of the way through the season
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Jun 27, 2012 -> 06:06 AM) I wonder what Dunn would be rated now? His last 9 games have been truly awful. And we're starting to see him swing at bad pitches, where most of his swing and misses were in the zone. I hope the 2011 Dunn isn't back.
