Terry Doyle back to the Sox
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Mar 21, 2012 -> 12:36 PM) I never knew why so many Sox fans bash Kenny for not protecting him, I knew he would be back. No you didn't. The fact is the Sox were at about 36 on the 40-man when he was left unprotected. Doyle had a very good AFL. And if he did anything in spring training, he would have made the Twins roster. Even if was just a bullpen spot. Quite simply, he stunk up the joint in Florida the last couple weeks, and the Twins couldn't keep him. But you didn't know he would stink in spring training. You just guessed right.

Look how many years the Royals could have traded Soria for big value. Sucks to be them.

Saladino doesn't get over to 1B on a bunt play. I still don't know why he was added to the major league camp.

Viciedo may be awful.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 04:33 PM) Ventura already said its between Crain and Thornton.. That was a while back. I haven't seen any recent quotes on that. I'm still holding out that they'll do the right thing in the end...which is to use Reed as a closer and Thornton and Crain as set up guys. It definitely won't be Crain.

If Reed doesn't close from Day 1, I'm going to be pissed.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 03:49 PM) With Escobar and Lillibridge, Fukudome and Flowers, is our bench set? Escobar isn't a lock. He may be more valuable playing everyday in AAA. My bet is still on Johnson.

Sale finally looks like a starting pitcher to me today. Very fluid.

Sale struck out Votto and Rolen, making them both look stupid.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 12:12 PM) You need more than that around to finish out games. I'm sure the Sox have a pretty good idea of the final 27 or so guys. Its probably possible someone outside of that makes the team these final 2 weeks, but very unlikely. They can bring guys in from minor league camp for games, but as far as being in the clubhouse, clear it out and start becoming the team that will open in Texas.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Mar 19, 2012 -> 11:58 AM) According to mark gonzales "No cuts have been announced, but the locker stalls of outfielders Jared Mitchell and Trayce Thompson, catcher Michael Blanke and pitchers Charlie Leesman and Simon Castro were empty Monday morning." I hope that's a drop in the bucket. Get it down to mid-30's today. They're at 51 with 2 weeks left.

Oh hai, Mark Buehrle
QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 11:38 PM) In other words, he'll be great. I wouldn't say great, but good enough to be a valuable pitcher. The thought that he'll go to the NL and win 17-20 games because it's an easier league, I just don't buy it. The NL East is a pretty good hitting division, plus the Marlins interleague schedule is tough...6 with Boston, 6 with Tampa Bay, 3 with Toronto, 3 with Cleveland. It's going to be about the same. 30-32 starts. 200-210 innings. 19-22 quality starts. And he'll come away with 13-15 wins, while the Marlins finish 80-82.
