  1. Sale will be facing the Angels good lineup today. No scrubs. whitesox.com at 3pm
  2. 6 cuts today, and one addition: Short, Infante (both injured) Omogrosso, Petricka, Espino, Young sent down Tyler Saladino has been added to major league camp. Why, I don't know. 51 left in camp. I was hoping for more than that. 25 pitchers are still around.
  3. QUOTE (forrestg @ Mar 14, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Robin ,himself went 0 for 43 before getting his first hit. He didn't give up when his ankle got severely broken at the plate. Nothing can stop "sweet swinging " Robin. Dayan needs to see the tape of those moments of his courageous manager. Then he will be inspired and will ffinally be the cuban Babe Ruth. He had an 0-41 in April/May of 1990, but not to start the season. He got a hits in September of 89 when he first got called up. I think Hawk has been saying he started his career 0-41 for years, and after a while everyone started believing it.
  4. Mitchell with a single to right field off Street. ...and Street promptly picks him off.
  5. Danks--double, single. Hitting .357
  6. Might be time to start talking about this Hector Gimenez as a backup catcher instead of Flowers.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 04:46 PM) He turned three DP's ysterday I think and then made an error. He is getting SS down again after being in the OF almost all last year. He will do fine IMO I agree, as a backup. If he starts 10 games each at 3B, SS, 2B, and CF, I have no problem with that.
  8. Lillibridge makes an error at short. That's what will happen if you go to the well too often with a bench player.
  9. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Mar 13, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) Is anybody listening to the San Diego radio play by play guy? He sounds a little nuts. No, but did Morel leave and is Leesman in for Floyd? The boxscore is all over the place. edit: nevermind. Leesman is in, getting hit. Marinez coming in. Can we get some roster cuts one of these days? Morel still in there.
  10. Floyd-- 4 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, 5 k's
  11. Lillibridge doubles in Konerko. 3-1 Sox, mid 4 Hope he gets 300 PA's. No more. No less.
  12. I really don't care either way, just win. But... My opinion is that baseball should be light, not heavy. I'd like to see more comedy in the advertising, and not black and white shots of seriousness. Baseball is supposed to be fun. Market it that way.
  13. Dunn scratched. Stiff neck. Dan Johnson in. AJ 2nd. Morel 3rd
  14. Danks not worried: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,4490403.story
  15. Infante- strained left oblique. Out indefinitely.
  16. Reed isn't throwing strikes either. Hopefully working on a pitch.
  17. Lillibridge, Pierzynski, Rios, Dunn, Fukudome, Young, Mitchell, Escobar, McPherson Young, Scutaro, Helton, Tulowitzki, Giambi, Hernandez, Blake, Brown, Matthes Scheduled to pitch: Danks, Hernandez, Petricka, Reed, Infante, Veal, Carter
  18. Yep, just watched Burls throw 4 innings. Same guy. New uniform.
  19. Too early to judge. I don't like AJ batting second. I didn't like seeing him bunt with 1st and 2nd, no out early in a game, but I don't know if that's going to be the move during the season or if that was just to work on a situation in preparation of the season. Time will tell. A lot of it is just dealing with the media, and dealing with the players on a personal level. I think he'll do fine. The other stuff is delegating to the coaches. Coop is running the pitching staff. I heard him say Parent is calling pitch outs since he was a catcher. It's a group effort.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2012 -> 11:05 AM) I don't think there is much drama for position players on the roster. The pitching cuts will be much more interesting. Yeah, barring injury we know 12 of the 13 position players. It's one spot for Martinez, Escobar, Johnson, and maybe Jor. Danks. And as far as the bullpen, Ohman, Crain, Thornton and Reed are in. If I had to pick three more right now, I'd give Stewart, Santiago, and Bruney the nods.
  21. Nice to see Morel and Beckham getting knocks. Lineup for today facing Jamie Moyer: Lillibridge ss, Pierzynski c, Rios dh, Dunn 1b, Fukudome cf, Young rf, Mitchell lf, Escobar 2b, McPherson 3b Danks starts Looks like an off day for most of the regulars. Cuts tomorrow?
  22. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Mar 10, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) I'm rather indifferent to the White Sox winning or losing for all spring training games. Well, yeah. I'd rather see the major league players do well. When it's Dallas McPherson, just make an out and get the hell out of there.
  23. Wild pitch. 2-2. Can't say I'm happy about it.
