  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 11:38 PM) In other words, he'll be great. I wouldn't say great, but good enough to be a valuable pitcher. The thought that he'll go to the NL and win 17-20 games because it's an easier league, I just don't buy it. The NL East is a pretty good hitting division, plus the Marlins interleague schedule is tough...6 with Boston, 6 with Tampa Bay, 3 with Toronto, 3 with Cleveland. It's going to be about the same. 30-32 starts. 200-210 innings. 19-22 quality starts. And he'll come away with 13-15 wins, while the Marlins finish 80-82.
  2. Good chance there's a washout in Arizona today. Sucks for the fans that wanted to see Sox/Cubs on their vacation.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) LOL at Melton. Not the kind of guy who's going to hurt you or drive the ball (Escobar)...Melton's making the excuse that the wind blew it out and the Arizona weather, lol. Escobar's definitely earning his place on this team. Could be. If Lillibridge can play a decent infield, I don't know if Escobar fits in. Dan Johnson may be a little better off the bench. The wildcard is if Viciedo just doesn't do anything the spring, in addition to bad defense. Then you may go Fukudome, De Aza, Rios, with Lillibridge as the 4th outfielder, and Escobar as the backup infielder. That seems like a big long shot though. Viciedo will probably break camp no matter what.
  4. Escobar 3-run jack. Good player.
  5. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 17, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) Melton ever entertained by unAmerican names Yes. To review: -Shin-Soo Choo is japanese -Hong Chi Kuo will fit in, in Seattle That's awesome.
  6. Escobar needs a better number. 38?

  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 10:04 PM) If some of the key additions like Gustavo Molina or Simon Castro have standout minor league seasons, that's going to be the argument for staying the course. 2/3rd's of it (as far as 2012 goes) is the major league results, but there will never be more focus on our minor league seasons and the draft. If someone like Mitchell and/or Thompson emerges as a Top 50 prospect, then KW will get 2013, too. And if Beckham, Morel, Viciedo, Sale and Addison Reed all look good and perform well, same thing. Nestor
  10. 3-10 now, but Danks pitched better than the numbers, and Bruney, Ohman, and Stults did a good job. 3 weeks until opening day.
  11. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 04:44 PM) The fact that Brian Bruney is STILL in the organization makes me sad. Makes me even more sad that he was a 0 ERA this spring to trick the coaches into considering him for the Bullpen even though he's proven he's not a big league pitcher... I think he can be ok in the right role. Mopping up. Give a couple innings when Crain and Thornton need a day off. If they're going to have Santiago and Stewart/Axelrod, plus Ohman, Reed, Thornton, and Crain, then Bruney has a spot in there. If he sucks, you dump him and bring in somebody else.
  12. Alexei throwing error Beckham throwing error Goldschmidt hits a triple to LF with Viciedo out there. Hmmmmm
  13. Danks goes out in the 2nd, and retires the side on 3 pitches. Show off.
  14. Johnny Danks with a 2-run single. Yes, John. Not Jordan.
  15. Hudson struck out De Aza, Lillibridge, and Ramirez on 10 pitches. Danks goes out, and gives up 2 runs.
  16. Danks Bros. batting 8th and 9th today.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 16, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) Ugh, Go Away My exact reaction. I just want anyone to do with the steroid era to go away.
  18. Buehrle vs Cardinals today: 2.1 inn 6 hits 5 runs 2 bb 2 k 9.95 spring ERA He'll be the same guy in the NL. 30 starts/200 innings/4ish ERA
  19. Danks vs Daniel Hudson tomorrow.
  20. QUOTE (Cali @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 05:47 PM) Texas is gonna run through this team like a buzzsaw opening series... Danks vs Lewis Peavy vs Darvish Floyd vs Holland Let's win opening day, and then hope.
  21. QUOTE (forrestg @ Mar 15, 2012 -> 05:36 PM) My cub friend says he always starts out hot in april prelude to whats coming Viciedo does seem like the type that won't make any sense throughout his career. He'll probably hit .150 in spring, and go 3-4 on opening day.
  22. 12-3 Indians, going to the 8th. 3-9 after 12 games. b****in'.
  23. Humber needs to moisturize... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,3706170.story
