  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 11:56 PM) I do not wish to say Greg told you so, but some of you blasted me for predicting the riots that would happen after the verdict. Since nobody is patting me on the back I thought I'd remind you that I'm not always wrong about stuff. I still stand by my statement they should have announced the verdict at 9 a.m. I think that makes a lot of sense. If they had announced the verdict at 9 AM, all of the people at work, commuting to work would have been in danger. Any kids going to or from school would have been in danger. Remember Reginald Denny? That's the reason why the decision was announced at night
  2. Colt McCoy to start for RG3 on Sunday. Worst draft ever??? Not only did they trade every future draft pick for him, but they drafted another QB in THE SAME DRAFT and he has already been benched too.
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:42 PM) IU loses to Eastern Washington, Big Ten really doesn't look that impressive this year. Maryland just got a pretty big win. (Sorry Heads and NSS) Remember Maryland is in the Big Ten now? Isn't that why Delaney brought them on?
  4. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 06:08 PM) Scott Carroll is a guy you can't help but like and root for. Wish he could somehow still stay in the organization. Best of luck to him regardless. Agreed. I usually don't care for that sappy stuff with pro athletes, but definitely rooting for him because of how long he fought to get to the majors.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 07:05 PM) I would have loved to sign Hanley at that price for the corner OF Agreed. Higher AAV but only 4 years, nice work by Boston.
  6. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 02:32 PM) I was making a comment on how I knew a 12 year old with a BB gun was shot by a cop and how most likely the victim would be black and the cop white...unfortunately I was right. How did that become me saying all whites are devils? Lol Where have they released any info about the officer?
  7. The 2008 NFC West went 10-30 (.250) in out of division games, worst all-time. (Here's a link to the best and worst non-division records) The 2014 NFC South is currently at 6-23-1 (.217) in non-division games.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 10:50 AM) I'm asking if 100 officers alone in their car try to cite these kids for jaywalking, how many of them end up shooting the kid to death? How many end up attacked? I'd imagine a few of those officers end up dead after being over powered, having their gun taken away and being shot by the "innocent" victim.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) Yes. The bottom line for me, and no amount of "some people just be itchin to violencts" will really change my mind, is that a cop tried to stop an unarmed teenager from jaywalking and the unarmed teen ended up dead. Doesn't mean Brown acted polite and did not deserve to be arrested, but he ended up dead. That doesn't scream "I'm really good at my job". I'm glad we can agree that attacking a police officer isn't "polite" behavior, lol.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) I mean, I'd bet anything it was after the part where they told him that if he said Brown grabbed for his gun he would be fine. You mean, the truth?
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 08:31 AM) I think the NFL should make it mandatory to have at least 8 wins to be eligible for the playoffs. Still reward the division winner with a playoff spot if they meet that mark, but if not give it to the next best wildcard team that may have 9 or 10 wins. Yeah, that would be fair, especially given that 4-team divisions make it more likely for a division winner to be under .500. At the least, they shouldn't be guaranteed home field advantage. I know San Fran won at Lambeau this January, but a 12-4 team should not be forced to go on the road against an 8 win team.
  12. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 08:14 AM) How'd Hanley and Anibal Sanzhez for Beckett work out for the Red Sox? But this isn't even worth arguing over....Sale isn't getting traded anytime soon. Just a fun thing to think about, I'm a junkie for trade ideas lol That worked out awesome for the Red Sox. In 2007, Josh Beckett was the Cy Young runner up and Mike Lowell finished 5th in the MVP race. In the playoffs, Beckett gave up 4 ER total in 4 starts and won all 4 games. Mike Lowell was the World Series MVP.
  13. If the season ended today, the 4-7 Falcons would host a playoff game.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 09:15 PM) It's not showing up on my TV but apparently many around the country now have a side by side image of Obama talking on one side and on the other side D batteries being thrown at officers donning gas masks. I had Obama on one side and people trying to flip a police car on the other side.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 08:05 PM) But put that in context. Cespedes career wRC+ numbers 2012 - 2014: 136, 102, 109 Viciedo over the same three years: 98, 96, 88 wRC+ is essentially wOBA but indexed so you can see how it compares to league average. Viciedo has been a below average bat by wOBA in every full season of his career. Cespedes, on the other hand, has been above average every year, even if just sightly. Maybe I slightly underestimated the difference between the two, Cespedes's struggles with Boston threw me off a little. He would be an upgrade offensively, but it wouldn't be a game changer.

  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) It didn't' play well enough to beat Miami. Tannehill didn't throw his first incomplete pass until the 3rd quarter or the very end of the 2nd quarter. Offense didn't help either but the defense was atrocious in that game. Miami could do whatever they wanted. Looking back you are right about that, but again, 224 yards, 3 turnovers, & 14 points from the high powered offense. I don't care how good Miami's D is, that's unacceptable.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 02:30 AM) Reddick would be a nice player to have, the only weird thing is that in 2014 he hit 90 points better IN Oakland. You'd really want to be the other way around, surmising that he'd have more value to us in US Cellular than Oakland in O.Co. He just seems to have trouble staying healthy. In a full season, he looks like he'd be a pretty easy 3+ WAR guy. 2012: Home - .247/.312/.484 Away - .238/.299/.443 2013: Home - .200/.296/.290 Away - .254/.319/.476 2014: Home - .312/.365/.491 Away - .221/.271/.405 Quite the fluctuation there, especially with his home splits.
  19. His offensive numbers aren't that much better than Viciedo's.
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 06:59 AM) No ref problems at ND Saturday. Just a coach who can't get his head out of his ass. Funny that he thinks that consistently failing to score touchdowns from within the 10 is a player execution problem and not a playcalling problem, though. Oh, and go recruit a good kicker. Kelly really seems to enjoy throwing his players under the bus, something you don't really see much of at the college level.
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) Yeah well enough but they've won NYJ, MN and TB. Would have won despite bad offense. If you really want to go there, the offense had but 220 yards against San Fran. The defense caused 4 turnovers that led to good field position. The defense has been manhandled the few times they faced a good offense, but overall they have been better than I expected. The regression of the offense under the QB whisperer has been problem #1. Even last week when both receivers had 100+ yards, they still only scored 21 points. And it doesn't help that they have the worst special teams I have ever seen.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) The Bears defense has now won three games. Waiting for the offense to get to two. The Bears D played well enough to beat Miami and Buffalo.
  23. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 08:56 PM) I'm not really worried about the teams in front of the Bears. If they can get to 10 wins, I'm almost sure they'd make the playoffs. Just taking a quick glance at the schedules, the niners and seahawks still play each other two more times. I just think there's a very, very small chance that the Bears actually get to 10 wins. Much more likely that they win 7 or 8. Thursday will be interesting. Detroit doesn't seem very good, but they are still much better than the teams at Soldier Field the last two weeks.
  24. QUOTE (Boogua @ Nov 23, 2014 -> 02:25 PM) At least we get to watch the Bears game on Thursday with a sliver of hope. The Lions open as 6.5 point favorites. Even if the Bears sweep Detroit, they still need to pass two of Dallas/San Francisco/Seattle. If you really want to make the playoffs, petition to join the NFC South. The first half today bordered on horribleness with PSU/Illinois.
