  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:11 PM) I have a feeling it's going to happen in the next few minutes That's what she said...
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) I smell a "complicated three way"! If it's complicated, you are doing it wrong.
  3. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) Still his ERA over three years in SD was under 4. Not bad. I'm not saying Clayton Richard is a frontline starter, that's why you trade him for a guy like Peavy. I guess he was better than I give him credit for, but he would have struggled in the AL in a park like the Cell.
  4. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:40 PM) I think a good comparison would be Clayton Richard. The change of scenery did him well and he was a solid middle of the rotation guy in SD. Not a Cy Young candidate, but good. He was never good. He was 100% a product of Petco park. If you look at this home/away splits, he was bad away from San Diego.
  5. I had the Dodgers getting Lindstrom, but the Wilson signing makes it much less likely.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:26 PM) Mark Gonzales ‏@MDGonzales 1m Sox announce peavy pushed back to Wednesday Makes sense. Trade deadline is at 3, game is at 6 so if a trade happens, Axelrod can pitch. If not, Peavy will start.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 01:04 PM) I don't think Chicago has rent controls like NYC, I think he meant market value. Correct. I was comparing to Rock's place.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) Elaborate? Rule of thumb. If they speaka no engrish, stay far far far away. The worst thing is when it comes to security deposits. You have to follow so many specific rules as far as receipt, deposting the money, no co-mingling with other assets. etc. You can do one small thing wrong, and a tenant can take you for the deposit and court costs, even if you were a good landlord. I understand protecting the tenant, but some of the stuff is out of control. Luckily, I haven't had any issues yet in the past 5 years, people have been cool and I'm real fair because I just want my mortgage paid until the market goes up and I can sell the damn place.
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:42 PM) I agree its insane. I just bought a house in Oak park so I was initially thinking of selling and moving but i can get double in rent of what my mortgage payment is. Wow, I wish we could get that much, but the rent we were able to get on our condos went up $150-$200 this year.
  10. QUOTE (Sockin @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:21 PM) Kaplan says Sox and Pirates are close on a Rios deal. https://twitter.com/thekapman/status/362261208809734146 They are close, but might not be able to find a middle ground? Doesn't sound very close to me Dave-0.
  11. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:26 AM) Jeff Passan reports that Phillies are calling up a 3B today. Young probably on the way somewhere Rosenthal reports that Young will only accept a trade to the Rangers, nowhere else.
  12. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 12:16 PM) I've heard they favor tenants? Yup, moreso than nearly anywhere else. Just so many detailed rules about security deposits and paperwork and blah, blah. Do any small thing wrong and the tenant can sue you and you will be responsible for their court costs as well.
  13. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:43 AM) It's saying Norris may be traded for Glasnow. If an of Glasnow+ was available for Peavy, I'm gonna shake my head 2.5 years of Norris is cheaper than 1.5 years of Peavy and he is younger. Don't discount that for a team like Pittsburgh.
  14. Jeff Passan ‏@JeffPassan Sources: Bud Norris very likely to be dealt today, and Pittsburgh could be landing spot. Package built around Tyler Glasnow makes sense. Astros scratched Bud Norris from his start today. Pirates won't deal Gregory Polanco for him. Houston does like Glasnow, a 6-7 monster RHP. Other teams in on Bud Norris at the moment. One executive says Astros motivated to move him. Still under control for 2+ seasons.
  15. As a landlord in Chicago, I would just like to add that the landlord/tenant laws are a huge pile of horse manure.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) Sale is not better than Manny Machado. Let's make that clear. Machado has a hell of an arm, but I'd argue that Sale is a better pitcher.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:55 AM) They didn't. Everyone else figured it out. Good point. It was beat guys reporting it, not the Sox themselves.
  18. Is there a certain deadline as to when the Sox need to announce their starting pitcher? Why announce Rienzo so early in the morning?
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) True, probably. Even though I am skeptical of how beloved Sale is by the average fan. People just don't tend to fall in love with pitchers...especially when they grow such pathetic beards True. Sale needs to learn from Kane and go with the mullet if your beard growing skills are so weak.
  20. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:39 AM) LOL I'd take Machado in a minute, but they could never sell that to the fanbase In order for the Sox to sell it to their fanbase, they would need to get Machado.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:10 AM) Munchkinland. He's going to represent the Lollipop Guild. Sounds like a promotion to me!
