  1. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) He can speak for himself. But just got back from five days without internet camping in the Serengheti. Seeing a pride of lions on the hunt, even more amazing than puig's season so far. How many of those lions were wearing Puig jerseys?
  2. I don't like hearing these Cliff Lee rumors, because Boston is the best fit for him.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 03:10 AM) Where is Floyd going? I thought he had a multi year deal. He might not even pitch in 2014 anyway.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 10:32 PM) AJ with a huge 9th inning homer against the Angels. He loves delivering against the Angels! Followed by a walk-off homer by Geovany Soto. The Chicago catchers legacy lives on!
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 06:59 AM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...,0,755368.story So apparently Rienzo is starting tonight no matter what, but if Peavy isn't traded before the game starts, the Sox have to send somebody down to make room for Rienzo on the roster. Wow. Good luck kid. You are gonna need it because your offense sucks.
  6. One name that people seem to ignore in the Bio genesis stuff is Bartolo Colon. If they announce suspensions as soon as tomorrow, maybe Oakland gets back in the Peavy sweepstakes.
  7. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) As long as it's in July. 2014?
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) Twitter reports of Garin Cecchini leaving a D.C. area massage parlor looking a little too relaxed. #tugwatch
  9. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 08:32 PM) Wtf, we are rebuilding and we don't trade the old guy ? Nobody would take on his salary.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 06:21 PM) I couldn't live in Hawaii. I enjoy road trips too much. Yeah, I think I might get island fever after a while. The nearest trip is a four-hour plane ride.
  11. Drunk History really entertains me for some reason.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 03:58 PM) And then slink away embarrassed that his last moment in a white sox uniform was, appropriately, giving up a HR. Careful. People around here are very sensitive about him...
  13. Chicago San Diego Auckland
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) I think of it as a promotion in the sense that if the Brewers were competing, they wouldn't be doing this giveaway. Exactly. This has more to do with a rejuvenated franchise having their worst season in 10 years than it does Ryan Braun's cheating.
  15. As an apology for the lockout, we got $100 in vouchers from the Blackhawks, able to be spent on merchandise or concessions.
  16. Crain to Tampa Peavy to Boston Lindstrom to Dodgers Rios to greg's doghouse
  17. I enjoyed those Tribune articles about every Chicago sports owner. Very interesting to see how the power breaks down and what their succession plans are.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 11:24 AM) Braves just got Scott Downs. For Cory Rasmus, yet my eyes keeping telling me it was for Colby Rasmus.
  19. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 10:12 AM) You are doubling the risk factors, not necessarily the total amount of risk. However the risk of him busting is pretty low as he already has made it to the majors. It is a legit top 10 prospect, top of the rotation type of guy that if you have a chance to get you have to take it. His floor now is back end of the bullpen and he could fall anywhere between there and the moon. It is pretty moot anyway as I dont think there is anyway that the Orioles would give him up for Peavy. To be fair, he's only faced 6 major league hitters so far, so that tells you very little. I realize how talented he is, but with Peavy being the top player available, I don't like taking on the risk of having to recover from surgery and being the same pitcher.
  20. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Jul 28, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) Any manager that watches his team lose game after game after game and makes no adjustments to the batting order is not a very good manager. In 102 games, the Sox have used 70 different batting orders, and no one order more than 6 times.
  21. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:39 AM) Sure, and prospects bust all the time as well. There is definitely risk involved, but that is the case whenever you are making deals for prospects. Then you are doubling the risk. Not only is it possible that Bundy may have been a bust without surgery, then you have to be certain that he comes back 100% from the surgery which is not a guarantee either. Just don't see it as the smartest move given Peavy's value right now.
  22. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) I don't see that ending well I wonder if they are gonna give him the 9th, or have him split it with Benoit when he is unavailable.
  23. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 09:16 AM) How much negotiation do you think is done via text vs phone? Very little. The true negotiations happen in person, over a steak dinner...BOOM.
