QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Any thoughts or predictions about Angelo's latest future screw-up tonight? Any O-linemen with back issues out there? I call a trade down for a D-lineman who will hurt himself in camp. They won't draft an O-lineman with their early picks, just defensive players.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) BRUINS!!! They did everything in their power to hand Montreal this series. Just stupid penalty after stupid penalty. I'm curious on how they'll break my heart in the next series. They were my pick to win it all at the start of the playoffs. For all the upsets that usually happen, the only lower seeds to advance were the 5 seeds, and neither of those are really considered upsets.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) Philly letting him run clock out and he decides to drive and dunk it with nobody in the front court. I hate that crap. I believe the over/under was 187. That made it 97-91. (Not that I'm accusing him of betting on the game)

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 03:29 PM) It's good to know that Quentin takes it as badly as a lot of us on the board when things aren't going so well with the team. Does he walk around the locker room yelling "Fire Walker! Fire Ozzie!"? -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) Some team may be looking for a physical "top pairing" type D man to anchor their blue line. True, but it's much harder to find a team like that when has a $5.8M cap number for the next 5 seasons.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:46 PM) I hate to say it, but you have to shop Seabrook if you can. It would have been much easier to do that if they hadn't signed him to an extension a few months ago.

Your favorite defensive play since 2000

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) The fact that a crappy defender made a relatively easy play shouldn't make it the better play. Technically, the poll is "favorite" defensive play. -

Uribe's back-to-back plays to win the WS is my vote, but since it's not an option I have go with D-Wise's catch. In the 9th inning of a perfect game, late defensive sub, and the fact that it almost dropped, never forget it. For game 163, I'd vote for Griffey throwing out Cuddyer over BA's catch. I was behind home plate in the Upper Deck and I just said "f***, it's Griffey out there. No way he throws this runner out" -
MLB Attendance problem? (KC, CLE, Cubs, NY teams)
LittleHurt05 replied to caulfield12's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:24 AM) I saw a figure quoted that the White Sox would have to average 33,000 per game (maybe it was SouthSideSox.com?) in order to "break even" with the current payroll? Where did that come from? Williams? JR? Does anyone actually believe it? The first week of the year I heard that they needed 2.7 million fans to break even. I thought that number came from Reinsdorf, but I'm not positive. -

-What a game. That's why you can't beat playoff hockey. Crawford was unbelievable, the only reason it went to OT. In the end, I think the Canucks were just the better team. That 3-0 hole was too much, its hard to beat a good team like that 4 straight times. -It's funny how the perception of a season can change so quickly. A first round loss is always disappointing. But it went from backing in the playoffs and being down 3-0, to waking up and almost pulling off the comeback on the Nucks. The full season feels a bit different than it did last Sunday night. -The cap situation isn't ideal, but with the MVP bonus gone and I believe a slightly higher cap, they at least will be able to keep Crawford. Hopefully they can keep some of their RFAs and add a little depth too. Either way, with all this talent and a full summer off, no reason why they can't make a deep run in the playoffs next year.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 06:59 AM) for as awful as the sox have played, and for as decently as the cubs are perceived to have been playing...they are only separated by .5 games Losing 10 of 11 will do that, while the Cubs have been right at .500 all season until losing the last 3, as the stat above shows.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 04:17 PM) Its crazy that both teams that were in the SCF last year are playing game sevens in the first round. Thats hockey for ya. Last year, one of those teams needed a last-day shootout win and a comeback from 3-0 to make it, while the other team needed a lucky short-handed bounce to survive the 1st round.
