I think it's the fact that this team wasn't meant to win or compete for anything this year. They've had a lot of guys overperforming to get where they are now and whenever things start going wrong, people default to thinking that this is the start of the end. Because they weren't supposed to be doing this. Truth is, these guys have shown that they are mentally tough and have the memory of a goldfish. However, the concerns about the pitching running out of steam are legit. The bullpen is taxed. The rotation is having trouble giving them 5 innings a game. It's hard to consistently win under those circumstances.

They decided to pitch Bregman really weird. You get 1-2 on him with all breaking pitches and then you throw him another one in the zone? Just why? He was clearly looking for it on the game tying hit.

7.1 innings, 3 Ks, 3 walks, 5 ER, 1 HR. This was a guy averaging 8.37 Ks/9 with the Mets. What the hell happened to him?

Rockies and Angles is at least a 4-2 stretch for them. But then again, this is a team that got swept by the Mets at home last week.

Yes, up 15 games on August 1st for it to dwindle down to 1.5 in late September. I specifically remember thinking that we had won the division when I saw we were 15 games up on August 1st.

This isn't the first time they've been walked off in back to back games. They bounced back fine in Cleveland and I think they'll be fine mentally now. It's the physical wear that we have to be wary of.

We basically need to go .500 the rest of the way to win the division. If the pitching collapses, there's a chance we don't. One of the Twins, Tigers, and Guardians would need to play .660 baseball to catch up to us if we go .500. With the way those teams have been going, it's hard to see that happening.

Worst case scenario is you lose the game tomorrow and you keep taxing your bullpen. The Sox needed to either blow the Cubs out or get blown out to reset the bullpen these past 2 days. Instead we did the opposite and the bullpen is still taxed with no off days in sight.

Brazoban didn't do his job and that really messed up the order of things today. Then the rain delay happened and Taylor couldn't pitch the 8th. It would have been dicey if Richards had to close in the 9th with a lead anyways. Or maybe they use Newcomb in that situation.

We haven't won an extra innings game on the road this year.
