  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 09:18 PM) He was unstoppable last preseason where no defense was being played. He has looked even better tonight, where very little defense is being played. It's all about his health. If he holds up, Bulls are in the Finals. Eh, a bit more defense being played. But they're clearly not trying that hard. Rose has his explosiveness back. He didn't look great in the half-court though, but that's expected.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) Really unfortunate. And such a freak thing. An inch shorter or longer on that landing and he's probable fine. Aren't the back stops for the basket usually farther than that? Nevermind: looks normal.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 09:37 PM) What's the recovery time for that? 5-6 months? The Pacers are kinda screwed.
  4. Wow that is awful. I don't want to see that replay ever again.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 08:08 PM) It's sad that every cut i'm like "oh God, let his knees hold up!" He landed so weird on his dunk. After he dunked it, it looks like his hands were going to clutch his knee.
  6. Holy crap Rose looks good.
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 04:10 PM) I agree -- MLB should pay for some phantom cameras and postion them throughout the park. I believe they do have those cameras in Comerica. The Tigers Fox Sports broadcast uses them all the time.
  8. Good series. Good road trip.
  9. You'd think they'd shoot video in higher than 60 fps so that not everything looks blurry like it did on that replay.
  10. lol all the fans are leaving.
  11. This one will be hard to overturn.
  12. Conor's just had a horrible day altogether.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:55 PM) And it was bad to start with. Considering Jackson was their only good OFer, yeah.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) with 4 hits he has to be over the .300 mark He's hitting .299. Worst batting average ever. So close, yet so far.
  15. I think Sierra's hitting close to .300 with the Sox. He was at .272 before the game today. Edit: .299/.317/.443
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) ERA+ 96, -0.3 WAR, His fWAR is even worse since he's given up so many home runs this year. When Reed doesn't have his good velocity, he's just throwing 92 MPH fastballs right down the pipe.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:51 PM) So Rajai Davis is now the Tigers starting CF? Oh boy. Their defense just got exponentially worse.
  18. Looks like Rose is going to make it on the USA FIBA World Cup team.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) LOL. Price @ 20M is just fine. It isn't like it is 20M for 5 years. This is so laughable how stupid some of this statisticians have gotten. I almost wish Kenny was back in charge the way some teams have started to completely overvalue prospects, etc. If anything, I would have expected Cameron to say Price is well worth it at $20 million. He is. He's a 5 WAR pitcher. That's worth at least $25 million on a one year contract. But I think his point is this: Price at $20 million is a lot of money, regardless of how much money you have or how valuable he actually is. Paying him that money AND giving up 6 years of control of good prospects is not worth it. You also have to take into account that the Rays aren't exactly rich. $20 million is like 1/4 of their payroll.
  20. QUOTE (almagest @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:30 PM) Hard to go on sustained runs when you have the giant starting pitching holes we have had all season. Along with a terrible bullpen.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) Marlins got Cosart instead of Danks. I would too. Costs a lot less, not any worse.
  22. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) That is terrible. Just hold onto him for the rest of the season and try in the off-season and or again at next years deadline. Brutual by Rays; Great move by Tigers. Agreed. They didn't have to make the trade now.
  23. QUOTE (1dog @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:12 PM) I am shocked that the A's traded Cespedes BTW...to rent Lester for a few months? Just doesn't seem like the type of trade the A's usually make. They're going for it all. Although this Price trade really gives the Tigers a good chance to screw up that plan.
  24. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Not saying that the athletics should have got price, just that they added and subtracted and seems like tigers just added Agreed. The A's gave up a lot for what was more or less a luxury in Lester. They already had 5 solid starters, including 3 excellent ones. The Tigers got better in the rotation and won't lose a ton in the lineup with Jackson (they will miss his defense though, they have no CFer).
  25. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 31, 2014 -> 03:09 PM) Rays got less back for 1 1/2 years of Price than the Cubs for 1 1/2 years of Shark plus 1/2 a year of Hammel. God dammit. I don't understand why the Rays would trade him now if that's all they were getting for him. They had the off-season to look for a trade. They must love Nick Franklin or something...
