Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:27 PM) Top Ten farm system. Almost has to be. I don't think many systems can boast about having the best pitching and position player prospects in baseball. Just based off that alone, we're top 10, if not top 5. We lack depth in position player prospects, but I think Q can help with that.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:15 PM) Sox are doing well. The system just moved into the top 10, let's see if we can move it into the top 3 with a Q trade. 1. Moncada 65 2. Giolito 65 3. Kopech 55/60 4. Lopez 55 5. Fulmer 50 6. Collins 50 7. Adams 50 8. Burdi 50 9. Dunning 50 10. Basabe 50 We got 10 50 grade+ prospects now. We should have around 15 when this is all said and done. We're gonna have the best system in the game.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) Pitching is the most volatile and in-demand need in the game, whether starters or relievers. Andcwe have the minor league development staff along with Cooper that theoretically excel in that area. One only needs to go back through 1998-2001 BA prospect lists to see how many busted from our #1 system in baseball. Once Sale was gone, it was natural for Eaton to go, and we already knew their system intimately. We can turn Eaton (who was Santiago...a low low draft pick) and a waiver claim in Q into one of the Top 3-5 farm systems in baseball. Logical enough. Just need to hit on at least 60% of the Top Ten names. It's crazy how much value we got back from Hector Santiago.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:11 PM) Q is the only one of any value. That's it. Robertson, Jones, and Frazier can bring something back too. Not anything top 50, but something.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:09 PM) It doesn't help solve the problem we have now, at all. Our position players have been awful. As of now, we have set ourselves up to have the exact same problem we have now, but only if all goes right. If it doesn't, we won't have offensive or pitching. We have plenty of trade chips left to get position players.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) The Nationals fans hated trading Lopez. Like alot. Glad we got him. I would have been OK with just Giolito honestly, but getting him is putting this deal over the top. Eaton is a 4 win player, but we sold him like he was at least a 5 win player. You take that any day.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
How are you guys disappointed that we got the #4 and #38 prospects for Adam Eaton? We sold about as high as possible on him.

Eaton to Nats/Giolito, Lopez, Dunning to Sox
Giolito, Rodon, Fulmer, Kopech... HOLY s***
-
Soler to KC for Wade Davis
I wonder if Wade Davis is even healthy. His peripherals looked good after he came back off the DL, but he got hit relatively hard.
-
Sox/Rockies talking Abreu or Frazier
I think we should hold off on trading Abreu. He ended last season hot, maybe he can up his stock with a nice first half in 2017.

Sox see Moncada as 2b
Moncada has too much speed and athleticism to play third IMO.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) Gallo and Profar would be interesting as pieces 3-4 in such a deal. If you stuck Mendez in there (MLB.com's #55 prospect) to make it a 4-pack, you've got a deal that intrigues me enough that I'm sitting down and talking to my scouts about it. Yeah but if the offers are really 95% of the Sale offers, then I don't know how competitive that kind of offer is.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (daa84 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:39 PM) jeff passan from yahoo on with waddle and silvy said the sox are getting offers about 95% of what they got for sale. some teams preferred Quintana. Sign me up for that. The key to all this is to sell high on these guys, and now feels like the peak value for Jose. Same with eaton. Absolutely. Sell on Eaton now. He'll never reach 6 WAR territory again. He's just not that kind of player.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:37 PM) I am just not a fan of the Rangers system. Gallo yuck. Profar has like 3 years of control and has Boras as his agent. I'd be all for a Mazara package though. Had they not given up half of their decent prospects for Lucroy and Beltran, their system would be way more interesting.
-
Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) Giolito, Robles + for Q and Robertson. Could it get done, if that's what was on the table for Sale? Sale went for more than that, so I think that's fair for Q and Robertson. Q has more years of control and Robertson fills a big need for the Nats. I think one thing that I'm realizing is that now with Sale off the table, that's one less guy you can acquire. Teams are gonna be flocking for Quintana and might end up overpaying for him.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) What about the Rangers? Mazara, Gallo, Profar are interesting pieces. Mazara is the only remotely interesting guy out of that bunch. I think Gallo is a lost cause. He just doesn't make enough contact. Profar's been around for a while and still hasn't panned out.

Cardinals Interested in Adam Eaton
QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) They'd better be willing to pony up if they want Adam Eaton. Eaton is never going to be more valuable than he is right now. He's coming off a 6 WAR season when his true talent is probably 3.5-4 wins. It's doubtful he can repeat his defensive season last year. With the Cards' history of developing really good hitters out of their system, the Sox can probably get a top 5 guy and then a few complimentary pieces that can develop more than their tools show.
-
Cardinals Interested in Adam Eaton
Eaton could get at least one top 5 Cards prospect outside of Reyes. Maybe Weaver/Bader as the main piece?
-
Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Could Q possibly fetch Robles? We're definitely not getting both Giolito and Robles, but I feel like one of them MIGHT be possible if we package Robertson in too.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Top three prospects in baseball since MLB Pipeline showed up: 2011: Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Matt Moore 2012: Jurickson Profar, Dylan Bundy, Wil Myers 2013: Byron Buxton, Oscar Taveras, Miguel Sano 2014: Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa, Kris Bryant 2015: Byron Buxton, Corey Seager, Lucas Giolito We should just forget about 2012. And also, the #2 prospects are actually better than the #1s lol

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:12 PM) So our two best hitting prospects strikeout a lot but also have a good eye at the plate. Hopefully they can cut down on the strikeouts because those worry me A LOT Didn't seem to matter for the Cubs.

Frazier Trade Discussion
This is kinda funny because the Dodgers basically had Frazier last year.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) I've been holding my breath waiting for that funky delivery to finally catch up with Chris. Hope I'm wrong, hate to see him get hurt, but at least if he does the Sox dodged a bullet It might never catch up with him. The guy's a freak of nature. I don't think injury risk was that high on the minds of teams that were willing to give up half their farm system for him. He's never had any issues with his arm, especially not as of late. He had some dead arm periods/starts when he first converted to a starter, but that was it.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) The Sox totally f***ed the Nationals last night. KW hates Mike Rizzo. They either leaked to Rosenthal and Heyman or the Nats did after thinking they had something locked up. Good. Screw Mike Rizzo. He's still a dick for that EJax Adam Dunn stuff.
