SSS Theater: Avi Garcia
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Apr 18, 2017 -> 04:58 PM) Any offensive or defensive stats to back up some of the opinions here? Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that Schwarber has a career OPS well above .800 while Avi's is more than 100 points lower. Both aren't good defenders, but Schwarber's shown that he can hit and hit pretty well. Book is still out on Avi, but he sure as hell isn't anywhere close to Schwarber.

What was a little bit discouraging in the second half was that the Bulls didn't get as many offensive boards, so it looks like Boston adjusted a bit to getting dominated by Lopez down low. The Bulls shot like absolute garbage in the first half and that kind of corrected itself in the second half as well. We'll see how it goes, but I have a feeling this series probably goes 7.

A lot of the last 30 seconds was bad coaching. Bulls players thought the game was over and were very non-chalant on throw-ins. The Spurs would never do s*** like that.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 07:59 PM) It's impressive they've rebounded so well without Taj. Porter and Lopez have been good. This wouldn't be a game if Good Mirotic showed up. Boston's just a short team. It really shows against them.

White Sox Winner!
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:51 PM) Definitely. Like you said, he's been hot before but definitely not THIS hot so that's at least eye opening. Still, I just don't expect it to last. I don't mean to be debbie downer here in the winner thread as it's definitely been fun to watch so far but I just don't expect it to last. Prove me wrong, Avi. I mean he's not gonna hit .450 all year. His GB% is down to 45% and his FB% up to 31. Both career highs for him. Small sample size, but if it's a new approach/swing he's using, then it's working. Coincidentally, he's actually not hitting the ball as hard as previous years. His hard hit ball % is 10% lower than last year. But he's decreased his weak contact.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 06:46 PM) That'd be awesome and I'll say that I highly doubt it's the case. I hope I'm wrong but I expect a fast and hard fall back to earth at some point in the next few weeks. Yeah I think we've seen Avi get hot for periods of 1-2 weeks, but I'm not sure if he's ever been this hot. I'll have to dig deeper into how he's hit so far. If he's lifting the ball more, it's a good turning point. His problem has always been hitting too many grounders.

Celtics are lucky to be in this honestly. They got absolutely owned on the boards. Lopez was boxing out 2 guys in the paint at times and getting put-backs/boards. If the Bulls were able to shoot like 30% on 3s, they'd be up by 10.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 16, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) I'm certain you are wrong about this. There's been a decade-long anti-Hillary campaign going on within conservative media. And it worked! She "screwed up" twice and that's all conservative media will ever talk about when it comes to her. Benghazi and emails, that's basically what it comes down to. I have no idea how certain people can despise her so much. I never liked Bush, but I don't think I ever hated him. Same goes for McCain and Romney. Whatever the conservative media is doing, it's working. They're somehow making people hate democrat politicians with a flaming passion.

Does Davidson remind anyone of David Freese when he's at the plate? The two have similar swings/stances.

QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 04:18 PM) but none are on thursday, and the streak is only for home games. Game 3 is on TNT. I honestly think this team just plays better when they're on national TV. Guys like Rondo and Wade typically perform better in the playoffs too. It'll be interesting. I think Celtics in 6, but the games should at least be competitive. Boston has the lowest point differential of any 1 seed since the 1970s.

President Donald Trump: The Thread
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 02:36 PM) Why is the media hyping this so much? In 2016 the Pentagon averaged 3x the amount of weight of that bomb everyday. And that's a conservative estimate. It's a not a good idea to allow Trump to think the media will be nice to him if he wages war. News organizations in this country LOVE war, cause they actually have real s*** to cover as opposed to having talking heads argue about relatively unimportant issues 12 hours a day.

2016-2017 NBA Thread
QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 03:28 PM) Ok guys, last night of regular season. I am conflicted on if I am rooting for the Bulls to make the playoffs (though they have no reason not to at home vs. Net's who's setting their best players). Here are the scenarios: - an L and Miami W - Bulls out (better pick, and puts more pressure to make changes to the FO, we can dream) - a W and Pacers W - Bulls 8th seed (likely face Celtics in the first round, whom they were 2-2 in the regular season against) - a W and Pacers L - Bulls 7ths seed (likely face Cavs, and no chance in hell against Lebron) I think it's no chance in hell vs. anyone but Toronto. That ship has sailed though.
