Chris Sale is the most bestest pitcher evar!
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 14, 2015 -> 01:55 PM) This was a thought I had yesterday as well. It is the one thing that makes a lot of sense. It's so odd that only they light him up while every other team can't hit him to save their lives.

I haven't watched any of Sale's starts against the Twins this year...so why exactly is he getting lit up against Minnesota? Do they know about him tipping his pitches or something?

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) If that's not a catch, I don't know what a catch is anymore. He had the ball in his hands, tucked it, took 2 steps, rotated in the air, fell on his back and then the ball popped out. WTF. Agreed. I'm not sure how he didn't have control of that. He took two steps with it and fell to the ground. I can understand the OBJ call since he really didn't have time to make a move after he caught it, but this call just baffled me.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 13, 2015 -> 05:06 PM) It is sad that Winston will catch all the headlines when the real headlines should be how bad Lovie's defense is. Totally unprepared. Giving up 4 TDs to a rookie QB in one half...yeah that's unacceptable.

2015-2016 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 1, 2015 -> 08:42 AM) A writer for a small website speculated that the Bulls should trade for Rudy Gay. That led to all these Facebook/Twitter posts reading "BREAKING: Bulls pursuing trade for Rudy Gay." My point is, if you see anything like that, don't believe it; it's all speculation. That being said, Gibson and McDermott for Gay- who says no? Steve (from this forum) once started a rumor that Rose will return sometime in January of the first year he got injured and that blew up lol

QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) I think I'm going to replace my yearly FIFA purchase with madden this year. I haven't bought madden in about 5 years. Anyone get it this year? Yup, pretty good so far. Game looks better, new catch animations and defender actions are interesting, if not a bit over-powered. I'll also be getting FIFA though. I'm gonna give EA a lot of money this year...

Arrieta went from failed prospect to one of the best pitchers in baseball. I'm wondering how he's throwing 96 when he was averaging 92-93 in Baltimore to start his ML career.

08/24/2015 - Red Sox @ White Sox - 7:10 CDT - CSN
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) If he accepts, it also means he's on the team next year. He better improve. His peripherals aren't as bad as his ERA and with how bad the Sox defense is, I'm inclined to believe it. He might not be the guy we traded for, but $15 million for a #3 on a 1 year deal is something a lot of teams would covet in the current market.

Most hated player in White Sox history
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) My point was that he's a longtime Sox pitcher who has been overall average due to those good seasons and his below average seasons now; and he is definitely not the most hated player in White Sox history. He's closer to most beloved player in Sox history than most hated. Yeah I'm not sure how you can really hate Danks. He pitched the blackout game and was a huge reason why the Sox made the playoffs in 2008. He's not worth his contract anymore, but you can't hate the guy for underperforming because of a major injury. Either way, Danks is probably going to be a major league average pitcher this year by fWAR (he's around 1.5 WAR right now). If you would have told me that at the beginning of the season, I would have been pretty satisfied.

08/24/2015 - Red Sox @ White Sox - 7:10 CDT - CSN
QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) If Samardzija actually wants to cash in, he should bet on himself and sign a one-year contract with the Sox or somebody. I guess it's possible the Sox will make the qualifying offer, and he'll accept it...or I could be wrong. He's terrible and I hope he's somewhere else next year. There's no way the Sox won't give him a QO. He's going to net us a comp pick. If he accepts, the $13-14 million he'll get is fair market value. If not, we get a draft pick. Win-win.
