  1. I think Nola is the safe pick at 3, but is anyone concerned with his durability? He's not a real big guy (Chris Sale is at least tall, Nola's 6'1) and his arm angle and mechanics seem iffy to me.
  2. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) In today's sad society, I wouldn't be surprised if that was a factor for some. Heh, reminds me of the Moneyball movie where the old scouts were asking about a prospect's girlfriend.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:35 AM) I'm getting closer to buying a wii u over a ps4 with all of these mario kart reviews. But I know in the end it's going to be a waste of money. For my gaming habits, which are limited these days, it's basically 2 mario games, mario kart, and maybe, maybe the zelda game if it's amazing (which the reviews will all say it is, despite the last couple being lame and boring). I'm torn. Yeah, that's why I don't buy Nintendo consoles or handhelds anymore. You basically get the console for one game (Pokemon for handhelds, Mario-related games for the consoles) and then there's almost nothing else that's good for it. I really wanted to buy a 3DS for Pokemon X and Y, but then I remembered that I don't think I'll ever play anything else on it. I had a Vita and I barely played it. So it definitely didn't make sense to spend $180 on what's basically a Pokemon machine...
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Start back and off in the box, adjust forward with the pitch. That's the great thing, you have plenty of time to adjust. I already do.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 09:22 AM) Its slow pitch softball. Almost any pitch is a hitters pitch. Not really. Everyone's different, but I struggle a lot with pitches with high arc or pitches high and in. Throw me a USSSA-style low pitch and I'll hit the daylights out of it. That's the difference for me.
  6. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 12:15 AM) Bela has a FIP of 2.91 this year His SIERA is even better. He's been a bit unlucky so far.
  7. 3 games back of Detroit, 1 back of the last WC spot.
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 5, 2014 -> 12:15 AM) Sox win 2-1 ..........1 bad bad inning from a sweep! More like one bad decision by Conor Gillaspie.
  9. The team with twice our payroll has the same record as us, lol.
  10. I'm happy with 2 out of 3, but we could have easily swept these guys.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:55 PM) Ump cost the Sox that run. Eh more like Leury did. If he doesn't let that ball get past him, Gordon is on second at best, not third.
  12. Kerwin Danley's not having a good night behind the plate. I think not being able to keep track of the count says a lot about that.
  13. That looked like a strike.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:44 PM) Decision time for Ventura. Could Garcia have made that play? Just says deflected online. It would have been a tough play since Gordon's so fast, but he could have.
  15. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:46 PM) F'N Defense again. Why isn't Conor playing?
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:42 PM) Danks getting more Buehrle-like by the day. Well, results are more important than MPH any day of the week, unless it's Erik Johnson. Danks now at 104 pitches and counting. His fastball is barely touching 88. Buehrle's averaging 83.3 on his fastball, and is somehow one of the best pitchers in the AL so far.
  17. Danks would have had a no hitter if it wasn't for Dee Gordon. LOL
  18. Danks looked like he was starting to lose his command in the previous inning. I don't know if it's a good idea to let him start this inning off.
  19. Big inning right here. If we can get through the top of their order with the lead, I like our chances.
  20. Brian Wilson's been absolutely horrendous this year.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 11:27 PM) Danks is getting good again. Remember his last bad outing a few starts ago when many people on the board wanted him DFA'ed? Danks haters need to give him his props. He looks like he's getting good, again. It's all about location for him now. His stuff isn't good enough to where he can make a mistake with his fastball and get away with it. He's had good location in his past few starts. He definitely didn't have it in that start against the Astros.
  22. Leury is having the game of his life. Danks just got a base hit. WTF is going on?
  23. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 4, 2014 -> 10:51 PM) I have always been aggressive. The longer I am up, the more I overthink it. It works for me though I feel like I'm way too aggressive sometimes. There's been too many times where I jumped on the first pitch and regretted it instantly. I don't think I've ever had a terrible result once I got deep in the count, especially on 3-1, but that doesn't happen all that often.
  24. Wait, what...? That was ball 3 right?
  25. Just don't strike out Adam...
