QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 31, 2016 -> 07:50 PM) Tottenham gets GK Pau Lopez, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, and Moussa Sissoko. Pretty good day for depth purposes for the COYS Sissoko to Everton was pretty much done, then Tottenham decided to match Newcastle's offer last minute. Tottenham vs. Everton is pretty simple decision. Sissoko chose Tottenham.

Mr. Robot:

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2016 -> 08:32 PM) Hendricks should be Cy Young. It's crazy how he has become a superstar out of nowhere. He's the right handed Mark Buehrle.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) It's Kaepernicks right to sit, his message needs to be reviewed not his decision to sit. I only hope that he would continue the message and talk more about it, because it only comes off as a one time attention wanting stunt. If only he did this back when he was actually good. Then people wouldn't be making fun of him with the "he'll be sitting all year on the bench" jokes. I've wondered about this from the start. What if Kaepernick just forgot to stand or didn't feel like it and is just using the oppression thing as an excuse? And now he's in too deep?

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 03:36 PM) I still don't understand what makes sporting events the place to sing the national anthem. You don't see this at other events. I don't think they have anthems overseas before non-national sporting events. It is kind of weird how we have them before pro sports games. But then again, American nationalism reigns. People eat it up. Edit: found this nice gem from a year back. http://www.sbnation.com/2015/11/4/9670302/...-report-million

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 29, 2016 -> 09:12 AM) Interesting, good to know. It's probably because he does all the big US games, but he's my top soccer broadcaster to listen to. I wish ESPN would cover the Champions League and Gold Cup instead of FS1. Mostly because of Ian Darke.

Wow that's one embarrassing name for a Stadium.

QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 21, 2016 -> 06:03 PM) Mariners blowing a late lead. One game back in the 2nd wc. Crusher if they don't come back. Give up 4 in the 9th. Lose 7-6. Gut punch. That's what happens when you have Tom Wilhelmsen as your closer...

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Aug 18, 2016 -> 01:13 PM)

Probably the best episode of Mr. Robot last night.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 16, 2016 -> 02:02 PM) Mr Robot coming back for season three The ratings for the show haven't been good this season at all. I was a little concerned about the renew.

I can see how LaStella's pissed he got demoted. He's been hitting well this year. But still, it's your damn job to report to AAA.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) Evan Grant ‏@Evan_P_Grant 46m46 minutes ago So of Fielder's $24 million, Rangers will get $6 million from Tigers; $9 million from insurance. Still responsible for $9 million Too bad he's been worth negative WAR in his 3 years with the Rangers... Meanwhile Kinsler looks like he's going to have a career year.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 09:04 PM) Brazil and Iraq are in a scoreless tie at halftime. In soccer. In Brazil. Looks like Brazil's squad is mostly young guys + Neymar, Felipe Anderson, Rafinha, and Gabriel. I've never even heard of most of the other players on the squad. Edit: just realized that you're only allowed 3 players over 23 in the Olympics. So that makes sense.

Now that episode of Mr. Robot was great. A lot more like season 1.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) After looking at his numbers, is he really any better than what they have already? Who's the odd man out? Hmm you're right, Smith hasn't been very good this year. He's been solid in years past though. But I think he's like their 4th or 5th best reliever.

Cubs got Joe Smith for next to nothing. Really good addition to their bullpen. Their pen has gone from the biggest weak spot on the team to a possible strong point.

QUOTE (Deadpool @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:47 PM) Or a completely disenchanted White Sox fan. I'm sorry, but this White Sox organization is so pathetic, it deserves every ounce of criticism it gets. What a complete disaster the last decade has been. Just because you don't like what the Sox are doing doesn't mean you should try and make Sox fans unbiased towards the Cubs. Those things are completely independent from each other.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 01:03 PM) I don't know if he's a troll but his posts do scream that he's a cubs fan. No non-Cubs fan would go this far to defend the team. I'm all for less biased talk about the Cubs on this board (sometimes we do go overboard), but there's no reason to defend the team at every turn. After all, this is a White Sox board. The Cubs/Sox rivalry is mostly bitter because of how casual Cubs fans like to gloat about things like attendance to insult Sox fans and casual Sox fans gloating about how the Cubs haven't won anything in 100+ years. It's all dumb arguments. I'm no longer living in Chicago, so I'm mostly away from all the nonsense, but I still have friends of mine who are casual fans and like to bring up "Sox suck" every once in a while just to annoy me. I just ignore them and chalk it up to them being unintelligent baseball fans and move on.

The Yankees being so stubborn about Miller opens the door for us to trade Robertson and get something good in return.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 29, 2016 -> 02:07 PM) Yeah and there are also rumors that the Yankees would say no to that deal. This is crazy. No wonder the Cubs settled for Chapman. Yankees would have taken no less than Schwarber for Miller.

Rumors have it the Nats would trade Lucas Giolito for Andrew Miller straight up. That might be as bad as the Shelby Miller trade.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jul 28, 2016 -> 08:51 AM) This 2nd season of Mr. Robot seems really slow moving and the plot is becoming a bit convoluted. I'm still watching it but not enjoying it quite as much as last season. It was good to finally see Elliot back at what he does best at the end of the episode though. The pace will pick back up now because of this. They did drag the Elliot hacking hiatus out a bit too long.

That's one hell of a lineup. A little bit of something for just about everyone.
