  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 08:51 AM) That file does not work. http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/07/09/go...y-enhancements/ Try one of those.
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 12:02 AM) We'll see. I don't think he's going to be a liability, but I'm not convinced he'll be very good either. He was solid defensively and showed flashes on offense, but he also played like 7 million minutes and scored about 14 a game at the end of the year. I do like that he can get to the line, hopefully his 3-point percentage wasn't a fluke. The Bulls almost won 3 games against the Heat with Keith Bogans as the SG 2 years ago. I think Jimmy scoring 12-14 points a game is fine. They don't need him to score 15+ a game. That'd be nice, but any kind of efficient offensive contribution from the 2 spot is good enough for me at this point.
  3. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:50 PM) Unless the NBA lets Thibs put a shock collar on Monta that gives him 10,000 volts every time he takes a bad jumper, overplays a passing lane or slacks off defensively, I wouldn't expect miracles. How about Butler plays a full year before you toss him on the trash heap? He was a useful player last year that played on both ends of the floor. Every contender has at least one questionable player in the starting lineup, and Butler could easily be better than "questionable". Butler is way better than questionable. With the minutes he played last year and how effective he was in most of the games, I'm kind of already sold on him.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:37 PM) Cool. So let's go into next season praying that Rose, Deng, Noah and Boozer are all healthy come playoff time (lol@that ever happening) and lose to Miami again. I'm shocked the Bulls were even looking at Ellis. Replace Boozer with Ellis (and assume Ellis is healthy) and you're looking at a second round exit if Rose and/or Noah are hurt. So in reality, it doesn't matter.
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:28 PM) Ellis sucked last year. But stop it. The Bucks were never a good fit for him. And he's clearly better than Nate. Ellis shot 36.1% on nearly 5 attempts per game his last full year at GS. If he could do that, combined with his ability to put the ball on the floor/create and his defensive ball-hawking (he's usually in the top 10 in steals), he'd be much more impactful than Nate. Problem is that Rose is not a true PG and ball-dominant as f***. Could he adjust his game? I doubt it. Ellis is a mediocre defender at best. If Monta can go back to being 07-08 Monta, when he had a .580 TS%, I'd gladly trade anyone besides Butler, Rose, and Noah for him. Even then, he's not an ideal fit. Unless Thibs can get Ellis to stop chucking and do nothing but drive, I don't see how this makes the Bulls any better, regardless of how good of a deal we get in the trade.
  6. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:23 PM) Nate seriously was better last year. Don't let Monta's high usage rate fool you, Robinson's PER was a point higher, his TS% was like 5 points higher and he the same points and more assists per 40 than Monta did and a lower turnover rate. Now you can say that Nate usually isn't that good, but a $10 million a year player shouldn't be remotely comparable to a veteran minimum guy. I'm honestly hoping Nate is back. Depending on what the Bulls really offered, I'd much rather not have Ellis. I mean, FFS Earl Watson got signed already. Nate at the minimum would be awesome.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:13 PM) Not near the defensive liability as Nate (and that isn't a compliment to Monte). Nate is just a disaster on D though. Ellis is much better then Nate. Nate is the better shooter though. Lets not compare a guy who is a 20 PPG scorer with 5-6 APG over multiple NBA seasons to Nate. Not fair. The only thing Ellis does better is by being taller. Ellis has the ability to guard small 2s and 1s. But he's only 6'4 and he's not exactly what most people call a good defender. If Nate got the minutes Ellis got with the volume of shots he throws up, Nate would score 20 PPG too. Just go look at Nate's Per 36 numbers.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:10 PM) My problem is, this is the Bulls. This isn't the White Sox who don't generate massive revenue. Bulls are one of the most profitable NBA franchises in the league and a total cash cow. I'm tired of seeing other franchises willing to get better by purely taking on some contracts. At this point, the Bulls FO can't do much in terms of spending money. Last year or two years ago? Yeah what you say is valid. But they're in the tax and over the cap. The only way to make big moves is by trades and with how the Bulls are philosophically, they're not going to give up an arm and a leg just to have another star on the team when in reality it doesn't make them much better.
  9. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:07 PM) Between Deng, Rose, Butler, and Ellis, there would be plenty of minutes to go around, imo. Especially since Hinrich would have to be going elsewhere. Now if the trade invovled Mrotic or the Bobcats pick, count me out. I was reading RealGM and nitetrain said they were offering Boozer, Teague, and draft picks. Hinrich wasn't going anywhere.
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:06 PM) When I watch Ellis, I always thought of him more as a guy who would be a solid shooter, if it weren't for the fact that he takes a lot of really bad shots. Statistically though, he probably is what he is, which is a lousy long distance shooter so he probably doesn't help with the spacing. Definitely gives the Bulls one other guy who can create offense (which they'll need against teams like Miami when someone like LBJ guards Rose). Nate Robinson can do what Monta does for a hell of a lot cheaper (with better 3 point shooting to boot). And you don't have to start him or give him starter's minutes on top of that.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:03 PM) I like him because he gives the Bulls something they don't really have. Plus, unlike other Bulls fans, I don't give a s*** if Uncle Jerry has to pay some luxury tax. You have a team thats close...pay the f***ing tax and do whatever you can to get the roster better. I'm sick of falling just short. We have a star, lets do whatever we can to continously make the team better. I'd love to see what Jerry Buss (RIP) or Cuban would have been able to do the past two years (knowing they'd have been open to spending money for a championship). Jerry is only spending if it is a total no brainer (vs. just makes them somewhat better). If it makes you better, do the deal...case closed. If it fails, as long as you aren't completely stupid in the money you give out, you can always sell and get other assets, etc. I don't think it's really a money thing. It's more of a philosophy thing. The Bulls FO is just extremely conservative. Any deal that doesn't vastly improve the team just won't be done.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Ellis a good player but he is a bad jump shooter. He would not help the Bulls with spacing when he is in the game with Rose. All he can really do is give the Bulls a second scoring option when Rose isn't playing. If anything, getting Ellis would be taking playing time away from Butler. I love the idea of the Bulls FO actually doing SOMETHING that isn't a low-profile signing or a irrelevant trade, but this wasn't what I really had in mind.
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 11:01 PM) Artest apparently interested in the Bulls. I assume he'd be willing to take close to the league minimum. Might not be a bad depth move. Nice defender off the bench. For all I know, we do need a good backup for Deng. Because we know Thibs won't play Snell much.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 10:53 PM) http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/22877...uit-Falls-Short WTF - The Bulls were the frontrunners from Monta? Get the f*** back on the phone GAR/PAX. Figure out a way...pay the f***ing tax. Monte is an excellent fit for this squad (assuming he can play within the offense and Thibs can teach him some defense). He should really allow the Bulls offense to spread out and I'd anticipate he'd get a lot of open jumpers with Rose. He could also get some minutes at the back up point and gives the Bulls two solid ball handlers. Wonder who the Bulls were trying to trade? I'd much rather have Nate.

This was a pleasant surprise. I swear, every time I check the Sox score I expect them to be losing. This is just one of those seasons. *Sigh
  16. 6 hits tonight. Get that value up Alex.
  17. Google finally decided to release the new Maps app for Android. http://db.tt/qoJ3cveT As someone who just moved and uses Maps a ton, this is great. I can really put the new traffic features to work.
  18. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 9, 2013 -> 01:38 PM) Oh Lord hahaha Rodmans custom hummer. Tits.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) Jaws has ranked his QBs from 32-15 so far and still no Cutler. That's encouraging. What if he's not even on the list? Jaws likes Cutler, that much I do know. They should have Gruden do one of these lists. Everybody would be #1.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 04:18 PM) Smith is spectacular when he plays to his strengths (he must realize he's not a perimeter shooter). And unless you're going to flip Noah, Asik makes zero sense. Obviously.
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 01:08 PM) I kinda doubt Houston would be interested, Gibson is an $8 million non-shooter that's not really an impact player. Josh Smith or Ryan Anderson make a ton more sense. Maybe if both of those fall through. Gibson/Dwight would be pretty damn good defensively, though that'll hurt the spacing. Edit- Just read on rotoworld that Anderson/Asik isn't happening according to Marc Stein, so maybe slightly more possible. Kind of funny how things have switched after one year. I definitely would have taken Gibson at this time last year, but Asik had a solid year. Now that the Rockets are starting to run out of options. This is the time for the Bulls front office to do something. I think LMA + Asik is better than Boozer + Noah. Not too much better, but it's definitely an upgrade.
  22. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) I'm kind of hoping Monta joins the Pistons. That'd be great. So. much. chucking.
  23. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 03:45 PM) Quin speculation time: What if Dwight asks for his buddy Boozer? That'd be fun. Please Dwight. I hate you, but this would make me love you.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2013 -> 02:29 PM) Josh Smith to the Pistons. 4/56. The Pistons now have the most athletic front-court in basketball (and that's not even including the freak of nature that is Tony Mitchell). Josh Smith is all sorts of bad IMO. It's a good thing the Rockets didn't get him. Now let's flip Gibson for Asik.
  25. So with Omer wanting out. Any chance the Bulls can swap Gibson for him and then trade Noah for Aldridge? Oh wait, this is the Bulls front office, they aren't creative.
