Can the Sox fix the bullpen?
The bullpen clearly wasn't the biggest issue last year. Yeah, Matt Thornton lost 10 games, bad luck hits sometimes. Just like how good luck hits and you vulture 8 wins like Nate Jones.

Cubs- Angels Trade - failed
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) It's the Dempster trade fiasco all over again. Good work Theo. Angels bought out Haren, he is now a free agent. I don't know why you'd ever trade with the Cubs now. That's two botched deals in the past 4 months.

2012 Video Game Thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Nov 3, 2012 -> 01:04 AM) Haven't played Liberation yet, but the Vita itself is an impressive device. It's surprisingly light and when I was killing time in a Panera today I noticed that I actually found it better to browse on the web that my iphone because of the bigger touch screen and similar interface. Vita = boring. Maybe Black Ops 2 and AC Liberation will make it less boring, but the game selection is awful.

I don't even know what to think of this trade. It's one team's garbage for another team's garbage...except one team's garbage has a guaranteed contract.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 02:28 PM) Good point. That gives me hope a team like the Royals might wise up and give Ozzie a chance. IMO he would do wonders with young players. Ozzie's never been good for young players. Remember Sean Tracey? His handling of Viciedo? Beckham?

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 02:03 PM) No, thats what I was telling him. I paid very little for brand name RAM for my mac when CDW, Newegg and the crucial website wanted to charge me more than 100. The last time I saw 4 GB of RAM at nearly $100 on Newegg was 2009 and that was when people started transitioning to DDR3.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Take the part number and put it in Amazon's search. I found my imac memory at about half of what it was on the other sites. Under 100 for 4 gigs. You guys are paying nearly $100 for 4 GB of RAM? DDR3 will cost you around $25 for 4 GB, even for SODIMM. DDR2...well that's another story. I'm assuming Joe's laptop uses DDR2. If that's the case, it'll cost you a little more, but not $150. This is a common frequency for most laptop DDR2 RAM: http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT51264AC800...+GB+SODIMM+DDR2

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (balfanman @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 07:05 AM) Don't know much about any of these guys now, but Polanco used to be pretty good. Does anyone know if he still has anything left? Could he be a legit contact hitter and bat 2nd anymore? Polanco can't hit.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2012 -> 11:30 AM) Let be honest too, its not Dell that has the issues. They are rebranding 3rd party hardware for the most part, so a bunch of faulty hitachi drives isnt really a "Dell" issue. Some people get terrible Macs and I've never had an issue. Computers are meant to break and arent meant for long term use. For my money if I had to buy myself a laptop I would 100% buy a Macbook air, probably the same one I have for work. Its just flat out awesome. Hitachi drives suck in general. I got a 5400 rpm drive with my ultrabook and it overheated and broke in about 2 weeks. I ordered a Samsung SSD afterwards and it's been worth every penny.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 08:48 PM) Ok, so my laptop is now struggling to play high-quality videos smoothly. When I am editting on Sony Vegas, the playback is choppy. I need to pretty much close all my other applications and restart my computer to begin working on a video (even then, it's still stuttering). Now when I render the video and play it back (compressed video), it plays fine and smooth. Is it safe to assume I need to upgrade the RAM on this baby? Or should I delete crap off the laptop and do a disk fragmentation and clean up? The laptop is 4 1/2 years old and has 4 GB of RAM running an Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 GHz, and it's a 32-bit OS. Your laptop is outdated. It's probably not the RAM if it worked fine before. Try a defrag.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) Omer with 12 and 8 in his Rockets debut. Shockingly stayed out of foul trouble too. It is the Pistons we're talking about here. Speaking of bad teams, if the Bulls keep playing like this all year, they won't make the playoffs.

Santana was worth -0.9 fWAR last year. His HR/FB was 19%. His BABIP was actually really low at .241. What this tells all of us is that he sucked last year, despite getting lucky. Santana will probably be awful for the Royals and have his only acceptable starts vs. the Sox.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 02:35 PM) I don't want to get his enthusiasm down, but I had a terrible experience with Dell and my friends who had similar models also had issues. They just weren't well built at all, and there are better brands out there that don't cost much more that I would go with first. But enjoy Did your Dell laptop play Crysis? Probably not. From the looks of his Dell's specs, his certainly can.

So what type of 3rd baseman do we need?
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 12:48 PM) What about Keppinger from Tampa? He's not a big name but might be serviceable, especially for a team with few options. Keppinger was great in TB last year, but the likelihood of a repeat performance or even a season where he hits .290/.340/.400 is somewhat unlikely considering he's never had a 600 PA season.

QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 31, 2012 -> 01:18 PM) I'd love to see Haren in a Sox uniform If we trade for him with Gavin, I'd be all for it. But that probably won't be enough. Like I said, Haren's declining across the board and he will be making $15.5 million next year with his option. For a guy who's probably a 4-4.5 ERA pitcher with an FIP in the 4s, that's overly expensive.
