  1. Wow...Trout with only 6 first place votes. BBWAA is still stuck in 2003. And somebody put Trout THIRD. Some writers don't deserve the right to vote.
  2. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 05:46 PM) They made the right choice. Butthurt White Sox fans be damned. I think the majority of people here who thought Trout should win didn't base it around their hatred of Miguel Cabrera. Now I'm just wondering how close it was...

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) I always feel like the marketing for Rockstar games dwarf the actual games themselves. GTA IV was good, not great. Red Dead was really good but the Mexico portion (about one third of the total game) was just terrible, and then LA Noire basically sucked. Probably in the minority on this though. I really liked L.A. Noire... And oh, am I the only one who is surprised that Black Ops II is getting really good reviews from just about everyone? Looks like Activision finally decided to change something.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 05:22 PM) The McAfee story really is twisted. Earlier this year the Belize police raided his house because they thought he was running a meth lab(the charges were later dropped). After that he apparently became more and more paranoid that the police were watching and stalking him. McAfee has admitted to dealings with the gangs on the island too, so he has a shady reputation. His story is that the neighbor was killed after the dogs were poisoned so that it would look like he had a motive, and then the police could kill him when they brought him in for questioning. One other thing, apparently his 100 million dollar fortune is dwindled to 4 million in a few short years. Gizmodo had a story about how he experienced with a bunch of exotic drugs and posted about it on some European forum about them. Just some weird stuff. Especially from a guy who's pretty rich and is pretty well known in the tech industry.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 05:24 PM) If you could get him without the attitude, I'd have no problem with it. However, all strings attached, Yunel Escobar is a POS. The trend is that Escobar usually produces when he's on his first stint with a team.
  6. QUOTE (kevo880 @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 04:38 PM) Per MLBTR •The Marlins plan to start Adeiny Hechavarria at shortstop with Yunel Escobar playing third base, Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. However, the Marlins haven't ruled out flipping Escobar to a third team. If we got the 2011 version of Escobar I would welcome him to play 3rd base for the Sox. I had the same idea. He's a fairly cheap option and probably won't take much to acquire in a trade.
  7. QUOTE (Jake @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) It's Miguel Cabrera. You reach a level of excellence at which the numbers simply don't tell the entire story. Miguel Cabrera was an absolutely fearsome player that changed the way everyone on the field approached the game. Trout had a great year, but compared to Miguel Cabrera I don't think he was feared at all. As a matter of fact, I don't think he was the most feared hitter in his lineup. Cabrera was so good that he'd burn you when you tried to walk him. Everybody sure feared Albert Pujols when he was hitting .170 for the first two months of the year. Keep this in mind: if Trout doesn't come up in late April and give the Angels a spark, that team might not have finished above .500. Mike Trout turned their season around.
  8. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 15, 2012 -> 04:27 PM) Cabrera was serviceable at 3B. Coming down the stretch run of the season (30 games) while Detroit was in the process of overtaking the AL Central lead, he had 1 error. You always heard people whining about how the opposition should just bunt towards 3B, yet it never happened. It shouldn't be lost on anyone that he was willing to slide over to 3B in order to accommodate Fielder at 1B. That was a pretty valuable thing to do in itself. Cabrera was a bad 1B. The reason he switched to 1B was because he was awful at 3B. And he was awful at 3B this year. He also played the position with one leg for like two weeks. Remember when KW got pissed that Robin didn't bunt at Cabrera more?
  9. QUOTE (SoxnGiants @ Nov 14, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) The link seems to show him in 6th place - behind Rodney. Someone (from Texas) actually gave Rodney a 1st place vote... Probably the same idiot who voted for Michael Young as the MVP last year. I'm still wondering how David Price won. Verlander didn't have the 24 wins he had last year, but he was every bit as good this year and better than David Price according to a lot of metrics.
  10. This trade is an embarassement for baseball.
  11. Pagan and De Aza are almost the same player, except maybe Pagan is a better base runner. That's it.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:52 PM) Excuses excuses. Take away the blow out tds and whats his rating. The line sucks, and he has s***ty off coordinators, but after firing so many guys around him maybe its time to question if hes a major part of the problem. More or less the same. Again, I don't understand why everybody is so pissed off at Jay Cutler in this game when he didn't even play in half of it. Are Texans fans also b****ing about Matt Schaub? Schaub also had an awful game, but hey everyone, let's forget that it was raining all game and that neither team should have been throwing the ball as much as they did.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:46 PM) Thats mediocre to average. Not franchise worthy. Take out that Packers game where he threw 2 meaningless interceptions and his rating is around 90. Get him a real line and his numbers probably look a lot better.
  14. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:45 PM) Whats so bad about letting him play out next year? Play for that contract. Statistically he's been one of the worst Qb's in the NFL this year. I mean stats don't lie. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CutlJa00.htm
  15. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 10:40 PM) Flame me if you want but I don't know if we should really treat Cutlers extension as such an automatic no-brainer. Let him play out next year and if he's still throwing as many picks as interceptions then I don't think we should extend him. I'm afraid Chicago has destroyed a decent QB at this point. Or am I overreacting? You gotta admit, he's had a terrible season from a statistical point of view. His QB Rating before this game was 85. Far from awful.
  16. Blatant PI and no call.
  17. Come on Davis. This is one of the worst games ever by a TE.
  18. Oh come on Robbie.
  19. Joseph and Marshall are playing a physical game.
  20. Good thing Bush didn't fumble.
  21. Looks like the defense will have to win us this one.
  22. Kellen Davis is so useless.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) Cutler, the king of s***ting the bed on prime time Cutler always sucks against the Packers in primetime. That's more or less a guarantee.
  24. What an awful half.
  25. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2012 -> 08:51 PM) How was that confirmed?? As the broadcasters said, the ref didn't have the redline to use. It's stupid.
