Konerko is really bad at running the bases
Bengie Molina is by far the worst. He had -47 with almost half the PAs as Konerko.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 10:48 AM) That does sound familiar now. They had Betances and Banuelos (sp?) and whoever else and just saw Q lower on the totem pole. Thanks Cashman! Noesi was also one of their higher ranked prospects.

295 dead aboard Malaysian Airlines shot down over Ukraine.
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) Just to clarify, this is the original Malaysian plane and not a second one, right? No, this is a second one.

Like the two top stories of the year decided to marry. Nobody needs innocents involved like this. Going to be a political disaster one way or the other. Sad and strange indeed. Looks like CNN's got a new Malaysian Airline story to cover.

He's definitely one of the best pickups by the Sox. We got him for nothing and he's turned into an AS-level pitcher.

Pacers signed Stuckey, most likely for the vet min. He would have been nice to have, although he doesn't really solve the Bulls' problems. Too inefficient, can't shoot the 3. Bulls are looking at Sessions though, so there's that.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 02:43 PM) Last year if you bought the anniversary Madden game for XBox through Amazon, they gave you a code to use for Sunday Ticket on your device. I got it for my nephew, he's a big Giants fan. It was only for last year though. That's why I got the $99 Anniversary edition. I might consider the $199 package. At the worst, I can cast the stream from my computer or phone to my Chromecast.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) Sooo...There's WAR in basketball now I guess....WAR says Jimmy Butler> Lance Stephenson, and Lance is not a "lockdown defender". DRPM has both Jimmy and Kirk better defensively. I have no clue what the hell any of that means, but it's still a little interesting to me. I'm still a bit unsure of how good RPM is.

This is about as open as the East ever will be. I doubt the Bulls can win it all next year, but I like our chances of reaching the Finals.

I wonder how much teams would bid for him. Scola only got like $3 million when he got amnestied and he was a much better player than Boozer at the time.

I read today that Morey let Parsons walk when he had a $1 million team option for next year so he wouldn't be a UFA in 2015. Boy that looks bad now.

I wonder if Cleveland will sign Ray Allen. Allen was rumored to follow LeBron, but I haven't heard anything since. If Cleveland doesn't want him for whatever reason, the Bulls should take a look.

If McDermott or Mirotic turn out to be as good as they've been advertised, you can bet the Bulls would trade Gibson or Dunleavy for a SG before the trade deadline.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) Question: Would you trade dunleavy to Denver for Nate Robinson, coming off of an injury, and creating a hole at SF? No. I think people need to realize Dunleavy is a solid player. Maybe not starter material on a championship contender, but he's solid in most aspects of his game. He'll give you 10-11 points a game on efficient shooting and he'll play, at the very least, average defense. He works best in a system like the Bulls' where rotations are very important.

Time to sell high on Gillaspie?
Conor's defense has been pretty bad this year. Of the 157 balls hit to him in his zone, he's made plays on 104 of them for a zone rating of .662. Not good. This leads to a DRS of -9, which I'm sure is one of the worst among all ML 3B. UZR doesn't like him either at -5. He was slightly below average last year, but it looks like he's taken a turn for the worse. I wouldn't put too much into half a season of defensive metrics though.

Time to sell high on Gillaspie?
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) What would you expect his BABIP to settle at in the long-run? Probably around .320-.330 since he hits a lot of line drives.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 06:54 PM) So sick of "if Rose is healthy" this team is whatever. Rose has to be more than just healthy. He has to be healthy and dominate. We all saw how bad he looked at the start of last year. Now add another year of rehab/rust/etc to that. That's why him playing in the FIBA World Cup is so important. It's a nice measuring stick for how his recovery will go.

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) I'd be okay with that. Use the TPE gained in your S&T for Gasol and then you use the MLE on Mirotic and use Hinrich's bird rights to resign him, thus giving you the BAE still. This way you add Mayo (and his contract) + a BAE that could give you a point guard. This sort of creative move would be great, but prepare to give up some picks or something to make it worth the Bucks while (does free up future cap for Bucks while ties down our cap, which doesn't matter). Bulls still stay well below luxury tax but might get in a tough spot when it comes to reinking Butler. Yeah, Mayo is making an inflated $8 million, which is way too much for him if you ask me. Only reason to do it is to get something useful for Boozer.
