19/7 - White Sox @ Red Sox: Split to play for
Overmanaging is so f***ing terrible, especially if it's in the 9th inning and your closer is available.

So this Thornton move totally backfired.

Thornton can't pitch the 9th, I thought this was well known.

Too bad that double by Beckham didn't touch Ross.

Hell of a start by Quintana. With Crawford and Gonzalez up, I think we should leave Quintana in.

It doesn't look like we'll get another run today.

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) is Konerko just a singles hitter now or something Better than him not hitting at all.

This is starting to remind me of that Dodgers game.

Buchholz has gotten drilled this inning, but got lucky on the first two batters.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 07:25 PM) right... You have to admit that the ball he just hit at Pedroia would have been a hit had it been 10 more feet to the right.

The Miami Marlins thread
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) No, it's never solely the manager's fault. Ok, let me rephrase that. Would it be evident that big name players who play under Ozzie Guillen are more likely to have uncharacteristic down years?
-
The Miami Marlins thread
Hypothetically speaking, if Ozzie got the boot at the end of the year and went to another team who signs big free agents in the off-season and those big time players uncharacteristically struggle in 2013 like they have with the Marlins or the 2011 White Sox; would it be overwhelming evidence that it's Ozzie's fault?

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 04:29 PM) Yeah, I'd rather have Hinrich than Lee. Lee is not that good. I wanted Mayo as a project player but Lee is no kind of answer for us, long term or short term. He's just gonna stand on the perimeter and wait for someone to toss him the ball just like a younger version of Bogans. Not a fan of his game. Except he's a much better shooter than Bogans. Lee is a guy who can score his 12 points a game if you give him 25-30 minutes of play while not killing you on defense. He also doesn't chuck shots. The Bulls really don't have that in a SG unless you're talking about Rip, who always seems to be hurt.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 04:24 PM) nah, we really didn't. Unless you want to send them Jimmy Butler? Two completely different types of players. No, we had a $5 million TPE, more than what Boston gave Lee. They are two different types of players, but are you telling me you'd rather have Hinrich than Lee?

Crain and Floyd expected back MON, Barnum ok
I can't believe I'm anxious to get Crainwreck back. I think this should stabilize the bullpen a bit. Nate Jones can go back to pitching the 6th and 7th innings now.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 19, 2012 -> 04:23 PM) Courtney Lee is not even that good, I wouldn't want to give him more than a 2 year He's better than Kirk Hinrich.
