  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 04:19 PM) Ventura's managed two very bad games the last two days. That he has. Last night's eight inning was a mess and that squeeze was totally unnecessary.
  2. Morel needs to be sent down. He's god awful.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 05:01 PM) So, I used to be on top of this stuff back in the day, but now not so much. It's been about 6 years since my last desktop purchase and my old Gateway is becoming slower and slower and more of a pain in the ass. So what's a decent computer these days? It will be used primarily for web surfing, photo viewing (not editing), the occasional Netflix watch and the occasional game, though I'm not sure i'm interested in anything other than Diablo III and that seems to have a moderate set of requirements but nothing too drastic. I can get an i5 processor with 8gbs of ram (expandable to 16) and a 1tb hard drive for about $530 bucks at Best Buy. It has an internal graphics card, so I might have to drop a hundred or two on a new graphics card, but that seems to be a good price. Everything jumps in price 2-300 bucks when you look at the i7 stuff. Anyone have one? Is it worth the jump? Are i5's pretty fast (keeping in mind i'm stuck with a dual core 1.8ghz proc with like 3gb or ram now)? Thoughts are much appreciated. If you want value, get AMD. If you want the performance and don't really care for the price, get Intel. I'm guessing you're not going to build this computer since you don't plan on doing anything exhaustive on it, so you might as well just buy the computer you're talking about. Just keep in mind that the stuff big manufacturers put into your PC might not be of the highest quality. From what I've experienced, they usually tend to cheap out on vital things like your power supply. I've been building computers since I was in high school, so I'm biased. I've never bought a pre-built computer myself.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 11:55 PM) OZZIE WOULD HAVE PINCH HIT FOR DUNN, THE BUM. EXCEPT HE WOULDN'T. Remember when Ozzie put in a struggling Adam Dunn in the 9th inning of a game last year, only to see him K? That was funny.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 03:32 PM) http://espn.go.com/espn/grantland/story/_/...79686/your-deal cover =/= book Wow, I'm surprised, that's pretty cool. Bulls clinched the first seed. Miami got blown out by Boston.
  6. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) 4 consecutive walks by 4 different Marlins pitchers to tie the game at 1 in the 7th. Awesome bullpen management Ozzie.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:28 AM) THUR. Humber vs. Doubront FRI. Sale vs. Bard (two of the most promising young pitchers in baseball, Bard came out of pen Monday night vs. MINN) SAT. Lester vs. Peavy (great test for Jake) SUN. KFC Beckett vs. Floyd No Buchholz. He pitched very well against us last year, but he's been getting rocked in 2012 so far. Isn't Bard in the bullpen now?
  8. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) The White Sox' +18 run differential is 3rd in the AL and 5th in the Majors. Another cool tidbit: we've given up the second least amount of runs in the AL so far. Only 4 behind the Rangers. We would be first if it wasn't for that Orioles game Santiago blew.
  9. I'd like to see the Bears sure up the d-line or o-line in the first few rounds. Then possibly go after a wideout like A.J. Jenkins in the third (might not be there by then).
  10. JFP

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:40 PM) I actually do think that Jake would take a discount to make up for the checks he cashed when he wasn't producing. I don't know why, but I believe when I hear him say how disappointed he's been in his performance. I'm sure I'm wrong, but I think he would take a discount and stay here. He does seem like the kind of person that does genuinely feel bad about what happened with him. But baseball is a business and I don't know if he would be so generous if he has a great season and can get way more money on the open market.
  11. Let's go Gavin, time to man up.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) http://www.complex.com/sports/2012/04/rudy...d-to-talk-trash LMAO Bismack Biyombo speaks English?
  13. QUOTE (onedude @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) If the Sox look like they're going to compete for a spot in the playoffs, do they bring up another starter to go to a six man rotation to protect Humber, Sale, and Peavy? I don't think that would be a terrible idea if it came down to saving them for a chance at going into the playoffs. Who's that other starter...? If the other starter degrades the quality of your rotation, what's the point? Right now, the Sox have 5 guys who can win on any given day. That's a luxury most teams don't have.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) With all due respect, you are insane. You said: "He turned on your team and he turned on you ... He wasted your time, he wasted my time, and he made the White Sox look like a bunch of idiots." You also said: "Your inability to recognize this makes you the Ozzie Guillen board troll, and also makes me wonder why you don't just root for the Marlins." 1.) He didn't waste any of my time. Last year was the only year I regretted my mlb package. Our team sucked big time but we still finished close to .500 as I recall in the worst year in memory. 2.) I haven't followed Ozzie or his team at all. I did follow the problem he had with the Castro stuff. Yeah, I'm a troll. I'm definitely a troll. Oh, so he did waste something of yours...
  15. Sox have the third best run differential in the AL right now. They've given up the second least amount of runs. Had Santiago not blown that Orioles game, the Sox would have given up the least amount of runs in the AL.
  16. Oh and we're tied for first in the Central. Boo-yah.
  17. 10-6 after 16. Not bad, not bad at all.
  18. Peavy looked like he was running out of gas a bit in that last inning, but he got the job done. Helluva game for JFP.
  19. Gameday isn't working, updates anyone?
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 23, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Checking Gmeday and thery have this thing called "Scout" that pops up with in game info. It said that after 45 pitches Colon's effectiveness starts to slip Maybe that thing isn't so useless after all.
  21. Donkey Kong doin' damage!
  22. This Jake Peavy guy is really good. 3 Ks in 2 innings.
  23. It totally sucks that I don't even get a chance to watch the game since it's on CSN++++++ or something.
  24. Santos to the DL. Looks like Kenny sold high at the right time.
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 20, 2012 -> 08:39 PM) Who's that Rodriguez guy throwing 100? Clippard really shut the door on the Marlins in the 8th, Hanley Ramirez was overpowered. He was brought over in the Willingham deal with Oakland. That guy can throw major gas. Once they get Storen back, that bullpen will be even better.
