QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 12:57 AM) All the nightmares (Johan, Castillo, Punto, Kuble, Cuddyer, Nathan, etc.) are leaving Minnesota. Haha. Mauer and Morneau aren't leaving anytime soon, unfortunately. I also have a feeling Carrol and Doumit will end up killing us.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) 2 Years, 14.5 million guaranteed, with a 2014 team option. Methinks Kenny can get a better return in a Thornton trade than people think. What an overpay. Nathan was pretty good in the second half last season, but you're giving that money to a 37 year old.

AL MVP is....
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Don't know where you got your numbers from. Bautista had a .896 OPS the second half. Hmm, I guess I got fed wrong information from someone. I should have double checked. It's an absolute shame that Pedro didn't win the MVP in 99, but Verlander somehow does in 2011.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) Mouse + keyboard for gaming = lame. Mouse and keyboard is a whole lot better than a controller for FPS games. Sports games though? That's another story.

Can Humber repeat '11?
Ozzie tried to milk too much out of the guy. He should have been pulled in numerous games where he ended up giving up more runs because Ozzie was too stubborn or stupid to realize that he was tired.

AL MVP is....
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:45 PM) Because Kansas City didn't win anything. And there lies the problem... This decision was a result of the Boston collapse, even though Ellsbury hit like an MVP during it.

AL MVP is....
I wonder why nobody made a case for Zack Greinke to win the 2009 MVP when he was even better than 2011 Verlander that season.

AL MVP is....
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:34 PM) So does the Babe Ruth award go to the best hitting pitcher or best pitching hitter? I'm so confused... Just call it the Ted Williams award then.

AL MVP is....
QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Wow, a pitcher shouldn't be MVP. I'm of the stance that a pitcher could be the MVP, but only if there are no worthy position players that year or if the pitcher is just THAT good. Verlander was awesome this year, but I think people might have overrated him by thinking Detroit had an absolute s*** pitching staff outside of him and that he had no other support. Which is obviously wrong. The Tigers had one of the best offenses in baseball and the Yankees' staff was probably worse outside of Sabathia. Even though Verlander was awesome, I don't think he was more valuable than Ellsbury or Bautista. So I don't agree with this decision at all.

AL MVP is....
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Nov 21, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) Dumb. Pitchers should not win MVPs. Bautista should've won. Bautista had a .730 OPS in the second half. Ellsbury should have ran away with the thing.

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) This The sad part is that Cutler didn't even make the tackle. Forte did. He probably didn't need to go after Cason the way he did.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) This is so s***ty. I really hope we get him back for the playoffs, if we get there. I guess the only thing i feel good about, is that we'll have to ask our defense to carry us there. And if there's a group of guys that has proven they'll do that, it's them. If 2005 Kyle Orton can win 10 games, so can Caleb Hanie.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) welp.....heres to hoping cuter:hanie::bledsoe:brady.... f*** me...this team was probably the most complete bears team ive seen in a while too...great RB, great SP, good QB, good D. You can argue that Cutler was near a top 5 QB in the league before this too....Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brady, Brees, then I think Cutler had as much of an arguement as anyone else I was thinking the same thing...could Hanie be the next Tom Brady? Haha.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:31 PM) I dunno if he'll miss a snap. Dude is a tough mother f***er. Completed two passes after his thumb got destroyed. Hell, Ben Roethlisberger played with a broken thumb and didn't affect him that much. Unless it's so bad it needs surgery.... We'll see what happens when it all becomes official. To be fair, those passes were quite short, but the receivers got some decent YAC on them. Sources are saying he will need surgery. We'll know for sure tomorrow when they perform more tests.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:18 PM) I wasnt sure if I should list the raiders or chiefs. The Chiefs are all over the place. I think the Raiders are more of a challenge, but winnable. Yeah, you really can't predict what that KC team will do. You just gotta hope you get them on one of their bad days.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) Call me crazy, but I think they can beat at least 3 of these 4...Broncos, Seahawks, Vikings, Chiefs The Raiders are a pretty bad defensive team. Forte should have a good game next week and there might not be that much pressure on Hanie to make big throws.

I think it's clear that the football gods don't want this team to win anything worthwhile. Carimi, Williams, Mannely, and now Cutler.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 20, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Yeah, Lawrence Holmes mentioned that play. He grabbed with his throwing hand then fell on it and stayed down out of bounds for a bit. What a way to possibly end your season. f*** the Soldier Field turf... Knox probably wouldn't have slipped if the turf didn't suck so bad.
