  1. Well that game sucked. The defense can't tackle or stop the run and of course, the o-line can't block. Cutler had a hell of a game today. Omiyale and Webb are the two most useless offensive linemen in all of football. Absolutely f***ing useless.
  2. I would not mind dealing A.J. at all.
  3. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 8, 2011 -> 02:50 PM) AJ f***ING JENKINS. He may have had bad coverage on him in this game, I dont know since Im just listening on the radio, but he is a flat out playmaker. That man is dangerous.
  4. 2K12's gameplay is so much smoother this year. Only got to play it for about a half hour, but I absolutely loved it. The smallest details are captured this year. They re-did Rose's jumper and it looks exactly how he shoots in real life. Boozer also does his screwed up fadeaways just like real life. They put so much attention to detail this year.
  5. Unless they go All In again this year and fail miserably, he's not in any danger of losing his job.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 02:16 PM) 1.) We've been through this troll thing before. A troll doesn't show up for 10 years and have a zillion posts. 2.) Ozzie got FRIED on this board that one game for sitting CQ after he hit 2 homers the night before or had 4 hits or something. Oz was sitting him cause he was 1-for-40 against the guy who was throwing or something. Just.Win.Baby. Only way to shut people up. Ozzie also bunts Juan Pierre to second give the chance. You can try to spin it anyway you want, but Ozzie rarely used statistics. And when he did, they probably weren't good ones.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) After listening to that interview I can see why Coop didn't get the job. He's a wildman with that accent and edge. I love his work and like his attitude but no way he could deal with the media twice a day. You guys are right bout that one. Then what's Ozzie with his accent and edge?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 01:06 PM) Believes in a balance of old school game observation and statistical analysis. He's already better than Ozzie in my book.
  9. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:46 PM) Another thing about Cowardley that bothers me most is he isn't even the White Sox beat guy, Van Schouwen is. Cowardley was supposed to be the Cubs guy this year but I am sure once the CST realized Cowardley has no actual journalistic qualities to get a good story, they had him working the Guillen kids all year for info and basically became a White Sox beat guy again. lol was Cowley really supposed to be the Cubs beat writer? I remember he was making fun of the Cubs before the season saying they had no chance and that all Cubs fans should convert to Sox fans.
  10. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) Coop calls Cowley a liar, but Coop did go to Williams for a contract extension. Cooper said he asked Rick Hahn first. With Cowley's credibility, I'm more than willing to believe Coop instead.
  11. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Cowley said Williams has treated more lawsuits than Mariotti. Cowley should go work for TMZ.
  12. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:31 PM) Mac called out Cowley for not talking about the hire, instead focusing on Guillen's crap.... again I love how Cowley is digging his own grave.
  13. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:29 PM) "cooper was fighting to save his own ass" Yeah, they were totally going to fire the most successful coach on the White Sox staff. Cooper's been a huge part of whatever success we've had in the past decade, but yeah, he definitely needed to have his ass saved.
  14. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) "as a journalist, my job is to tell the truth"... then went on to say since he was "cut off" from one side, he told the "truth" from the other side. It's not true if it's distorted. The idea of journalism, or writing in general, is to get both sides of the story. If you only have one side, that's bad journalism. You might as well stop writing.
  15. So does anyone know anything about Ventura's mindset as a manager? Does he play small ball, does he favor statistics, is he somewhat in between? Or is he such a WTF hire that nobody knows?
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:24 PM) Cowley said Cooper pulled him aside several times a few years ago to ask him to write that the coaches need extensions. I wonder when a few years ago was.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:06 PM) If the rumors are true, Kenny did try firing Ozzie, but Jerry wouldn't let him. The more all this stuff leaks out, the more I think JR was a major reason why we wasted $127 million this season.
  18. If anything, the hire just means we aren't winning or spending big anytime soon. If we're going into rebuilding mode, it's not a horrible hire. But still, there were better candidates out there who I can make a better judgement about right now.
  19. Cowley is following in the footsteps of Mariotti in perfect fashion.
  20. Run this unprofessional embarrassment out of town. Coop and now Kenny. Looks like he will have zero sources from now on. Although it's not like he had many to begin with.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 11:12 PM) Amazing column by Cowley. Wow. Cooper was THAT MUCH of a snake? Wait til the players read this. Horrible joke of a franchise. I just knew KW was sucking up and this proves it. And Cooper? The people who have said what a rotten personality he has? This just makes sense he'd look out for No. 1. I LOVE Ozzie's text to Coop. It's Ozzie's way of letting him know bout Judas. If this is true, Cowley deserves a sports Pulitzer for the scoop. And to think I today was thinking Coop deserved the job over Ventura. Coop sounds like he may ruin the clubhouse next year when this story is made public to the players. Nobody likes a backstabber. Nobody! Everybody was killing Cowley. Then this post comes in... You know, the change of pace is somewhat nice. But we all know Cowley's an absolute joke.
  22. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) Gonna combine sabermetrics and scouting(wow, there's an idea)! I guess that's better than what Ozzie did.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 6, 2011 -> 05:04 PM) Steve, Maybe its because some of the most famous baseball managers were "player managers." I think its interesting (insert stupid) that people dont want to research the fact that there is almost 0 correlation between MLB managerial experience and success at the major league level. I think its interesting (insert stupid) that people dont believe Robin can be a good manager just because he hasnt been a coach. Whatever the facts, I really cant imagine anyone creating a good argument that MLB manager is harder than NBA/NFL. And thats the comparison. The problem is that we know absolutely nothing about Ventura as a coach/manager. We'd at least like to get a freaking idea.
